One doesn't excuse the other, but this is the kind of whataboutery The Rangers and Celtic fans go to whenever this behaviour is brought up. That and none of them ever admits to singing or being involved in sectarianism themselves, and always use that excuse to deflect any criticism from supporting teams steeped in it.

I never said that one excuses the other, you're putting words in my mouth here.

We all know that the football authorities in Scotland don’t have the balls to punish the two Glasgow clubs for the songs and general behaviour of their fans.

They would more likely punish a smaller club if their fans sang any of the ‘traditional party songs’ when they played against them.

I am pretty sure Aberdeen fans were reported a few years ago for sectarian abuse when they sang about Gerrard being a ‘sad 🟠 b******d

Then a few weeks later they were outraged when celtic fans sang about McInnes being an orange b.....

This reminds me. Rangers often release statements ahead of European games begging their fans not to be disgusting bigots, because the club might get punished. And there’s lots of back patting on social media because of it.

Do they pass any comment when it happens every week domestically? Do they f**k. Because they don’t give a f**k about the singing, only the possibility that there might be repercussions from it.

Occasionally but nowhere near enough.  To stop sectarianism you would need both old firm teams working together,  otherwise it ends up being weaponised to use against the other side.

Fined £66k - £120k suspended and used if another breach.

    100% worth it imo.

Not sure how all postponements can be seen as breaches due to severe weather warnings etc  - will all other clubs be fined £13,200 with £24,000 suspended for every game called off? Sporting integrity etc?

    SPFL PRESS RELEASE: DUNDEE FC

DUNDEE FINED FOR BREACHES OF SPFL RULES

At a disciplinary hearing today (18 April 2024), Dundee FC admitted five separate breaches of SPFL Rules relating to their Dens Park pitch.

    This followed postponements of cinch Premiership matches on 7 October 2023, 23 December 2023, 2 January 2024, 17 March 2024, and 10 April 2024.

As a result, Dundee were fined £186,000, of which £120,000 is suspended until the end of season 2024/25.

This suspended element will be automatically triggered in the event of a further breach of SPFL Rules relating to pitch condition next season.

An SPFL spokesman commented: “SPFL Rules on pitch condition are an integral part of maintaining a fair league competition.”

Surely there will be an element of common sense relating to any postponements which could be outside the clubs control.

I honestly don’t think there are many posters on P&B that would wake up the morning after Rangers dropping points in the title race and think “I want to discuss the manner in which Dundee fans celebrated.”

    Each to their own though.

That was a bit weird from Dindy even going by his usual fishing standards.

If it was Killie, then he would have been celebrating.

  6. Ross County outplayed us, Dundee defended well and counter attacked in numbers without resorting to hammer throwing.

Hearts will be too physical for us, 3 - 1 to Hearts. The last two games have seen a team basically going through the motions.
