  1. Outstanding performance from Alloa today and not a failure in a black and gold shirt.  Probably the best performance I have seen at Forthbank.

Andy Graham has to get massive credit for getting the players so up for it,. We have much better players than Stirling Albion but the motivation to win from our players was so great to see.. If Iwas a Stirling fan I would be raging at their players today.

Everybody was good for us today but especially Virtanen, PJ,  and Curtis Roberts ❤️ and they probably all got 10 while the other starting 11 all got 9.

    Thank you Andy Graham.

  2. A slightly better performance yesterday against an Annan team who look much better than QOS and Kelty, despite us losing to both.

Thought Roberts and Scougall were our best players yesterday and hope Stefan and Scott Taggart's injuries aren't too bad.

Performances haven't been great over the last four games but that will all be forgotten if we can put on a display like our last visit to Forthbank.

  3. Couldn't make the game last night but by the sound of it we were awful.

Andy has done an absolutely brilliant job since he came in, probably much better than anyone would have expected. To win 7 out of the last 9 is excellent.

However over the last three games, two of which have been against teams in the bottom half, we have conceded eight goals.

Looking at the stats last night the midfield looked like it created very little as well.

I would bring Kev and Virtanen into the team on Saturday as it gives a better balance.

Need to pick up a decent haul of points over the next three games before a very difficult run in.

  4. Absolutely brilliant news about Andy Graham. As Brian said he would have got time from even the most critical of fans. I wasn't 100 percent sure about the appointment as loved him so much as a player, but his record has been very impressive. Unfortunately sure his record won't have gone unnoticed to other clubs as well.

As for Kurtis, I am slightly less positive than some of our fans, realise I might be in the minority. Thought he was really poor under Rice, always had the energy and the enthusiasm but his passing was absolutely awful and he kept giving the ball away  In the last few games under Rice and since Andy Graham has come in he has been much, much better and looks more composed on the ball and has added a couple of goals to his game.

  5. 5 wins in a row, never seen that coming, how Andy Graham has improved us since taking charge.

Not only do we have much better shape than we had under Rice, but a number of players have improved dramatically since Andy was appointed manager.

Would agree with some of the previous posts thought Neil, Devine and PJ were best for us and Roberts was absolutely excellent in the second half and capped it with a brilliant goal.

  6. An excellent second half performance on Saturday after a really poor first 45 minutes when Cove had looked the much stronger team.

Some really good performances, Taylor Steven was immense and thought PJ, Neil and Virtanen were all good as well. Fair play to Virtanen he has improved game after game and personally I would start him over Hetherington even when he is fit.

Anyone know what happened with the Quinn Coulson substitution? Sutherland came off then came back on and Coulson put a jacket back on and sat down.

I was just about to ask that, very strange and don't think I have ever seen this happen before.

Thought we were really poor last night and PJ was probably our best player which says it all.

Agree with Owen, thought Annan passed the ball really well and at times our midfield really struggled against them. If they play like that every week then have a decent chance of avoiding the relegation play off position.

  8. Not a classic, especially in the first half.

Could have easily fizzled out for a draw but the one genuine bit of class by Taylor Steven won us the game.

Thought Roberts was our best player today and deserved his man of the match award.

  9. Was speaking to a young guy (sorry don't know his name) during the second half yesterday and it hadn't been that long ago that he had been the same age as our current ned pavement dancers.

Anyway, sound guy who I am sure used to partake in banter with opposition fans but genuinely gives a f**k about the team and is a genuine Alloa supporter, something that is not true about the current mob of idiots.

  10. A well deserved thrashing from an excellent Falkirk team who play some great football. Congratulations on your inevitable league win when it comes.

Huge fan of Morrison, a really exciting player to watch and he has regularly ripped us apart over the last couple of seasons.

From an Alloa perspective we were absolutely awful and would like to think we might bring in some loan defenders over the next few weeks.

I ended up getting into Electric Bar after the game but it took a long negotiation with the barman.

Great day out. Team were terrific, just ran out of gas a bit second half. For long spells I thought we had a real chance and Sammons goal was a brilliant moment.

I just knew you would 😊, was annoyed at the time but glad to not give them anymore business. Davie Cooper Lounge for me in 2052.

  12. Enjoyed my first trip to Fir Park in 28 years. As has been mentioned, the Davie Cooper Suite was good before the game and next time would go straight there from the train station rather than waste time in the Electric Bar.

The Motherwell fans we talked to at half time seemed really decent as well.

Good support through and made plenty of noise.

Thought we played well in the first half and Connor took his goal really well, seems to shine against Premier Division teams in the Scottish Cup. Not so good in the second half but overall a decent performance.

For me PJ and Scougall were our best players and special mention to Virtanen who I thought looked comfortable playing at right back.

  13. Wales has been excellent for us and even before he started his three in three goal scoring run you could see there was a really good player there.

Very exciting to watch as he is direct, quick and an excellent dribbler, now he has got the goals as well, will only help his confidence.

I am obviously biased but think at 18 regular football in League 1 with us will only make him better. If he went to a Championship team might struggle to get as many starts.

Stevie May was on loan at us in League 2 and Ross Stewart in League 1 and both have gone onto good careers.

My first listen of the podcast, only 70 episodes too late.

Thought it was really good and covered a lot of topics, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Still don't agree about Roberts but as you said all fans are entitled to their opinion, so respect your viewpoint.

    Keep up the good work.

It would be crazy to drop either of those two IMO, they are the heart beat of the team. I'd always start Kev though - it's one of the best things Andy G has done so far, playing him regularly and getting him involved more centrally. Tbh I'd start him over Scougs - his end product is much better.

I think it should be pointed out also that Brian Rice was far from the only manager who failed to get the most out of the wee man, although he did indeed take it to extreme lengths.

IMO both Hetherington and especially Roberts are totally overrated, realise I am probably in the minority but not been impressed by either this season.

No realise Rice isn't the only manager to use Kev sparingly but given the general weakness of his squads compared to Goodwin's midfield options, then it highlights his general incompetence. That and trying to play your best attacking midfielder as a right back.

  16. As for the actual game, agree with a lot of the previous posts that we were really poor and grinded out a win.

Kevin Cawley for me was by far the best player on the park and is easily the best midfielder at the club. Under used by Rice, when Scougall returns, he should be starting in front of Coulson,  Roberts or Hetherington.

I really like Buchanan and he is a real handful for defences, two assists and a goal in the last two games, is evidence of that.

Good to see Wales and Roy getting goals and out of the three loans they would be the two I would keep.

I do think we could do with another quality defender and back up goalkeeper in during the window but let's see what happens. Realise we would need to move on players as Rice has left us with a huge squad, but there are plenty of candidates if anyone would take them.

Something I have to unfortunately mention- I've been going to the Recs for 35 years. I've been an away fan of Meadowbank there, seen random Alloa games, women's cup finals and even a BSC game once. I enjoy the soup and the pie on a roll. I've always regarded the ground as one of the safer places to go, the Wasps fans to my experience are passionate but not nasty and the Wasps P&B posters are good guys.

Unfortunately two of our young fans were attacked in the KFC just after the game by a not very brave mob of 20. One lad suffered a burst lip and had his glasses broken (poor lad is blinder than me!) and the other lad seemed to be ok if a bit shaken. Both lads look (and I don't want to embarrass them) as if they couldn't fight sleep to be honest. They did say there had been a little bit of banter in the KFC between them and the neds (for want of a better expression) and then one of them just punched our fan out of the blue. Very brave of 20 of them to take on two thin laddies who were on their own and I can't help thinking if it was, say, Falkirk who had been visiting the neds would have scattered long before that with trousers a shade of brown.

I've never experienced much trouble watching City over nearly 30 years (and that includes a friendly in an open prison!). We're pretty harmless on the whole, there's no rivalry between us and Alloa, and I'll still regard the Wasps as one of the better clubs. It just leaves a bit of a nasty taste in the mouth and I hope the good guys at the Recs will condone this behavior.

An absolute f*****g disgrace, these little idiots are an embarrassment to the club and something needs to be done. Unfortunately like various incidents this season they lead to ordinary fans getting targeted at games.

Just about to head to my MMA training and can't help but think these a*e h***s would benefit from the discipline of something like that and coming face to face with guys that can genuinely fight and will keep them in check. Unfortunately the flip side is some of them might take the skills and use them to cause more havoc.

Also think the Alloa police need to do more, seen them hanging about at the end of the game, where were they when the incident happened yards from the ground.

Hope the two youngsters are okay and from all decent Alloa fans we are genuinely sorry.
