  1. So the royal box doesn't accomodate all the vip needs of the club? why was it built with such a limited capacity? Surely questions need to be asked about the reasoning behind it being built in the first place and it hindering the potential for expanding the capacity of the stadium. Also it looks awful.
  2. For the west to be extended it would likely have to be a continuation of what’s already there, at the same elevation. It’s so close to the touch line it wouldn’t allow for any seating extending down any further. That would obscure the sight lines if they built another stand beside the current west/royal box.
  3. The east stand wouldn’t be that much of an issue if they actually built a decent main stand like the original plan showed, extending the stand that was there down to the track etc. The whole royal box thing is ridiculous. Couldn’t a vip section have been included as part of a normal main stand?
  4. So is the thinking that the pitch markings and the seats hurriedly being put in this week is an optics thing? Photo opportunities if the CEO is indeed on tv giving an update this week. Also with regards to fans being kept in the dark, do you think the attitude of some might be that it’ll be worth it long term to upset a few hundred fans over the course of this season (stadium/ochilview/ticket prices) if the long term goal is capturing a few thousand locals to come along every other week as things progress? Maybe for those in charge it’s not that big of a deal as the core support is smaller than a Hibs or Motherwell where Dempster had previously been in charge.
  5. Available exclusively in the waiting room of your doctors surgery.
  6. Maybe it’s an optics thing. People might see it and think “oh it can’t be too far away, they’ve painted lines on the pitch”. Previous chat around stadium completion suggested the people in charge didn’t realise people have eyes and could see the place is miles away from completion.
  7. They’ve painted the lines on the pitch! Noticed that today. A milestone point in the development, ready in time for the league cup fixtures next season.
  8. Embarrassing that the stadiums current state is the sum of two years work. Worms eye view for those in the front row. The stand should have been elevated to some extent, also an extra couple of rows wouldn't have gone a miss. Might have put the project back another season though. Odd that the VIP stand is being zipped up in short order.
  9. Would anyone be surprised if the first home game back at Lesser Hampden was played just in front of the directors stand?
  10. Worcester players all free to find other clubs. Can't imagine Van Der Merwe being short of offers.
  11. Hoping the vip stand ends up like this Heineken sponsored area at DC United.
  12. November 2023? There’s no chance of lesser being ready before the new year.
  13. They’ll need a bigger vip section for premier league football than that current little stand they’re building. The rumoured champagne room and cigar bar will have to be expanded.
  14. If they’re going full blown vip section, the top of changing room should be a sun terrace with tables and chairs. Bar access, table service.
  15. I don’t think there’s space for seating outside the pavilion with the building for the changing rooms being there now. They seem to be right on pitch side.
  16. What’s going in the area from the end of the stand down to the corner flag? Is it going to end up looking like a tannadice type situation with the Grand stand and the fair play stand right beside each other on the one side of the pitch?
  17. One would imagine King Charles III will be present for the ribbon cutting?
  18. Took a walk past Lesser this afternoon, work gathering pace on the vip section of the ground. 3 rows of seats in a nice elevated position. Can’t be giving them the worms eye view of the East stand.
  19. After 3 weeks away I noticed the east stand at lesser now has a roof! Starting to finally come together. Also the directors area opposite has the framework up for what looks like a small office block. Is this going to end up being a tannadice type situation with the boxes/directors area they have right at pitchside?
  20. You’d think they’ll have some sort of temporary structure up behind the goal at the Somerville Drive end of the ground. Also with the amount of space behind that one end of the pitch, isn’t there scope for that stand when it’s eventually built being the biggest capacity stand in the ground?
  21. What are the odds on the first few games back at Lesser Hampden being played with only the directors stand completed?
  22. Today there was work happening on the pitch and both east and west sides of the grounds. Still seems crazy that the knocked away almost all of the west stand. I’m guessing the remainder in the directors area?
  23. I gave mine up at the start of last season. The cut from 11 league games and 3 euro games (when it was pro12) down to 9 league and 2 euro with continual price hikes wasn’t justifiable. Especially with Glasgow going backward at a rate of knots!
  24. Embarrassing doesn’t even cover this, you know they’ll roll out the “well when you play Leinster and they get going they’re unstoppable” Finishing 8th having been 2nd/3rd in the table for a long stretch is appalling. Losing games from what you’d think was strong winning positions week after week is inexcusable. There’s promise with some players. The change obviously needs to come from the coaching side of things.
