Gonna be interesting if Ray does come with the DUFC chequebook, for Tosh or anyone else. Interesting who he'd pick, interesting what prices we'd look for and interesting what it might do to his reception at the first meeting of the clubs at SP. If he leaves us alone I'd imagine a deserved, genuine, warm reception. If he's bummed us for good players, maybe less so...

Only explanation is he's the cheapest option. Increased budget offered to RMcK because good chance of progress. Now we have no management at all, pull it back and just aim to survive. This will be marked as the year our justifiable ambition died, if it's Locke. Always surprises at the Rovers eh?

Jings. Just away to throw myself in the traffic..Really does it matter who we get in? As far I can see it goes one of 3 ways...
1. We are crap, struggle in the league and get relegated. The manager gets sacked.
2. We have an average run of the mill season which by and large is devoid of excitement. We finished 5th-8th with some fans happy, other wanting a change and no real enthusiasm towards the club with poor crowds a.k.a the Murray years. Eventually manager is sacked.
3. We sneak into 3rd or 4th place and have a play-off match. The liklihood of getting up is very low given the amount of games needed to be played and we go out after a brave effort. The manager is sought after and leaves for a bigger club and challenge.
Any which way we are left without a manager and will be having the same conversation again.

I'd assume the club would inform us if Ellis was off. It might be good for him to get a change of venue, he's been here for, what? 8 years, 4 as a coach?
Laurie has been with us for 1000 years in about 12 different spells. Has had a testimonial and everything. Like him a lot, as a chap and as a decent defender in his day, and for that goal at Dens, but can't see a role for him if a new manager wants to bring a backroom team with him, as is likely. I know he stayed on after Murray but think his time may be up here, if he has any ambition in the game.

There's talk that JMc was in on the transfers and made some cash out of them. If true, he's a sleekit wee gold digger and he'll not find any cash lurking aboot Stark's. If untrue, then still not convinced. A bit meh.
