Hardly rattled just pointing out the fact the "reserves" that were quoted aren't quite that but have been playing more than a handful of games emoji102.png see my comment a bit higher up to see what I thought on the game and see how rattled I am...

No your rattled that's for sure. To suggest east fife had similar first team players missing is a heads gone moment. Nice research though.

I think you are clutching at straws.  In what bracket do you think are the wages at Raith are for full time players?  Consider what that means to the wages of their part time players.  Do you think Raith part time players earn less than other League 1 part time players?  Or do you think comparing Raith full time players wages to their part time players will show that their is little difference between their wages?  So - why bother signing players on full time contracts??

You lost me on i think. The words waffle and slavering spring to mind. You didn't answer my question. Read back what I said. Full time teams should have the edge over part time teams but at third tier level and indeed second, the difference is generally small for reasons i and others have given. I think you are clutching at straws to suggest full time teams should be humping part time teams when we are competing for similar quality of player. Part time football at league one level is generally more lucrative for a player if you have a semi decent job outside football.

If that's the case, why bother signing players on full time contracts??  How many part timers were playing on Saturday for Raith?

For a start the difference in wages at third tier level means the cost of paying low end full time wages and high end part wages is very small and we can just about afford to have full time players which you would always hope would give us a slight edge against the majority of part time teams which it generally has. What part of my points do you disagree with?? Some of the Arbroath players were earning more than the rovers players last season.

Rovers have a mix of full  and part time players. Most part time teams in the division have players on loan who are training full time. I believe your goalscorer today is one of them. If you look at teams such as Alloa and Arbroath who are holding there own in a league above, it proves that at lower league level when you add in loan players from the premier league and players recently released from full time teams with a core of top end semi pro's, the difference is very small if anything. It's not like all the east fife players have just finished a 12 hour shift down the pit whilst the multi millionaire rovers players are at home in there mansions.

Our goalscorer is signed for us. Hamilton released him

So he falls under the recently released from full time team category so shouldn't look out of place playing in the third tier of scottish football against a team with similar type players.

Raith are full time should they not be beating East Fife comfortably. Not bothered about who you played your full time you still only got a point same as East Fife.

  6. You biting sir scotty? I think the fishing rod was out. Decent home gate to be fair which is good to see, but it's not rocket science. When your team is doing well crowds go up and when they are not they go down. If falkirk hump you next week then crowd will be back to normal and a win it will maintain or increase. Fickle football fans, part time supporters, glory hunters. Call it what you will.

Come on guys let's not make a mountain out of mole hill here. He apologised to Kev, Kev accepted it, move on nothing to see here!

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I see the Scottish schools fa president wants to make a mountain out of a molehill when you click on the Twitter comments. Sounds like an individual that sits on too many commitee with the blazers. Stick to making a mess of youth football and pipe down.

So you’re worse than last year and we’re better than last year, we took 7 points of you last year (should have been 9) and you won your game (just) in the middle of one of the worst runs in our Club’s history but you still think we’re evenly split???

Calm down and breath. All 4 games were close last season and in all honestly could have went either way. Your 2 victories last season fall into the just category also as you won by the odd goal. You finished 7th last season and us 3rd. If we are worse than last season and you are better then there is a good chance that the derbies will be evenly split and you might finish above us for the first time since black and white tv. I'm not buying the your great and we are pish theory just yet based on yesterday's showing. It was a game of poor standard spoilt by the wind so difficult to judge. Last season was meant to be East Fife's strongest team in years but still ended up with only 13 wins from 36, but based on early season results, I would say a top 4 spot is very achievable. Who knows where we will end up. We go from great to absolute horrendous in the same game never mind week to week.

Pretty incredible some people are defending McGlynn and having a pop at the interviewer. If Davie(?) gets fed up of Raith would he be interested in coming to Queens? I'd love an interviewer who asks the questions the fans want asked. For two seasons under Naysmith we leaked goals from crosses. I'm sure it was around 70% last season. I can't recall her ever bringing that up though. It's almost the same questions every week.

If the defence has been shaky for Rovers then I see no reason why the guy shouldn't question it as the fans will surely be thinking the same. His reaction screamed of a man who's coat is on a shoogly peg.

Who's had a pop at Davie? I think it's more been that it wasn't edited out than having a pop at him for asking a non offensive question.

The only Davie we should be having a pop at is Mcgurn. He has been very poor since he returned and has been at fault for numerous goals, but seems to avoid criticism, whilst our centre halves take most of the blame.

  10. The manager is a bit grumpy 10 minutes after a game in which we lose 2 late goals.  Hardly a shocking story. He is clearly aware that we don't have the depth of squad to challenge for the league and 3 games in we have resorted to playing a trialist to make up the numbers, with no intention of signing him as we have no cash. It sounds like we are abusing the system as he mentioned possibly playing 5 trialists on Tuesday night as we don't have to pay them. This is Sunday pub league stuff.

  11. We have rarely convinced away from home all season, but I think to go up we are going to have to produce our best performance for probably the last 2 or 3 years on the road. Agree on previous comments that Dobbie won't play 180 minutes but probably won't need to and still be the match winner. Minor miracle required perhaps, but we need to remember, Qos were in freefall and did lose up at Montrose in the first leg.

  13. It was clear that absolute no organisation or planning had went into hosting the game, so very poor from Forfar. The stewarding inside and outside the ground  were beyond clueless. They appeared surprised when the buses arrived. Segregation was required. Ultimately it was a semi final and although I stood in amongst home supporters with no issues, it's clear with the importance of the game and volume of the supporters, segregation was required . The game itself was less than memorable but credit for me goes to Mcglynn. It was ugly at times but we didn't get sucked into getting caught on the counter attack which has cost us previously and did enough to go through. Forfar really did lose the plot after the penalty and Baird should have walked amongst others. To top off the farcical organisation at the end, no steward or police had a clue where the supporters buses were parked and were nowhere to be seen when the young forfar neds starting the agro outside and throwing stones at the buses. No idea how we will match up against queens but Dobbie aside I would hope there is not a great deal between the teams. They have been in free fall but unfortunately we are very average and will need a number of players to step up to give us a chance of winning over 2 legs.

  14. I would imagine if common sense prevails unlike in the Willie gray era, they will split the tickets down the middle and we will get 1000 tickets which will give all season ticket holders a ticket. There will probably be a couple of hundred Rovers fans in the home end like last time, so most people who want tickets will get one.

  15. Debatable whether your much better to say the least. One good performance in the second leg against Falkirk and a terrible Dundee Utd side saved your skin. St Mirren have struggled after relegation. I would have expected a similar outcome with killie. As per first post,to suggest he is too good for us is ludicrous.

  16. Dalglish was probably a little unfortunate to lose his job, but i think it was more than the football performances that decided his fate. His post match interviews and general media relations were becoming embarrassing. His handling of the Suarez allegations were dreadful. Whether we like it or not its a huge part of the game with 24 hour sports channels, and Dalglish was found wanting in the media department which would not go down well with the american owners. If they had won the FA cup final it may have been different.

  17. Rodgers record in the cup is significantly worse than that of Dalglish and his league position only toady went one position higher than where they finished last year.

Combine that with horror show signings like Borini, Allen and Sahin and I think spectacular failure covers his reign quite nicely.

And that's long before we get onto that 'Being Liverpool' shite.

Spectacular failure??? You really are the king of talking nonesense. Stop reading tabloid headlines and step back into reality. 6th position with the squad he has would be an significant achievement. Allen was outstanding earlier in the season but his form has dipped(he is 22). borrini has been injured most of the season and the loan signing of Sahin didnt work out. What about rodgers giving chances to young Sterling and Shelvey, who have now been picked for England, or the progress of young Wisdom, Henderson and the good form of Downing. The signing of Sturridge and form and improved temperment of suarez to name a few significant improvements. The style of play has also changed which takes time. Yes there has been setbacks along the way, but spectacular failure is a laughable statement. Rome wasnt built in a day, just ask Alex ferguson.

  18. Paul Scholes?

An outstanding footballer but he has been involved in some horrific challenges that has almost been forgotten due to him being one of the premierships best midfielders of all time. He has picked up the third most bookings in premiership history. Has a real nasty streak in him on the park, As i have already said you can pick faults on any character of an individual as many have done on this thread with the thug nonesense about Caragher.
