  1. No your rattled that's for sure. To suggest east fife had similar first team players missing is a heads gone moment. Nice research though.
  2. You lost me on i think. The words waffle and slavering spring to mind. You didn't answer my question. Read back what I said. Full time teams should have the edge over part time teams but at third tier level and indeed second, the difference is generally small for reasons i and others have given. I think you are clutching at straws to suggest full time teams should be humping part time teams when we are competing for similar quality of player. Part time football at league one level is generally more lucrative for a player if you have a semi decent job outside football.
  3. For a start the difference in wages at third tier level means the cost of paying low end full time wages and high end part wages is very small and we can just about afford to have full time players which you would always hope would give us a slight edge against the majority of part time teams which it generally has. What part of my points do you disagree with?? Some of the Arbroath players were earning more than the rovers players last season.
  4. Yes talking about a player missing a sitter in a post match interview is a disgusting thing to do and shows a lack of class.
  5. Yes and what a magnificent achievement that was in 1938. Anyway fast forward 81 years and back on topic.
  6. Our goalscorer is signed for us. Hamilton released him So he falls under the recently released from full time team category so shouldn't look out of place playing in the third tier of scottish football against a team with similar type players.
  7. Rovers have a mix of full and part time players. Most part time teams in the division have players on loan who are training full time. I believe your goalscorer today is one of them. If you look at teams such as Alloa and Arbroath who are holding there own in a league above, it proves that at lower league level when you add in loan players from the premier league and players recently released from full time teams with a core of top end semi pro's, the difference is very small if anything. It's not like all the east fife players have just finished a 12 hour shift down the pit whilst the multi millionaire rovers players are at home in there mansions.
  8. Big games next week. Top 4 teams all meet. Our record at station park in recent years is rank, but a win would give us a huge boost going into the falkirk game. I fancy falkirk to inflict east fife's first defeat next week, so a win would give us huge confidence and lay down a marker that the rank away form has ceased.
  9. You biting sir scotty? I think the fishing rod was out. Decent home gate to be fair which is good to see, but it's not rocket science. When your team is doing well crowds go up and when they are not they go down. If falkirk hump you next week then crowd will be back to normal and a win it will maintain or increase. Fickle football fans, part time supporters, glory hunters. Call it what you will.
  10. Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I see the Scottish schools fa president wants to make a mountain out of a molehill when you click on the Twitter comments. Sounds like an individual that sits on too many commitee with the blazers. Stick to making a mess of youth football and pipe down.
  11. Easily amused, too much time on your hands or obsessed. I will go for all three
  12. Calm down and breath. All 4 games were close last season and in all honestly could have went either way. Your 2 victories last season fall into the just category also as you won by the odd goal. You finished 7th last season and us 3rd. If we are worse than last season and you are better then there is a good chance that the derbies will be evenly split and you might finish above us for the first time since black and white tv. I'm not buying the your great and we are pish theory just yet based on yesterday's showing. It was a game of poor standard spoilt by the wind so difficult to judge. Last season was meant to be East Fife's strongest team in years but still ended up with only 13 wins from 36, but based on early season results, I would say a top 4 spot is very achievable. Who knows where we will end up. We go from great to absolute horrendous in the same game never mind week to week.
  13. Who's had a pop at Davie? I think it's more been that it wasn't edited out than having a pop at him for asking a non offensive question. The only Davie we should be having a pop at is Mcgurn. He has been very poor since he returned and has been at fault for numerous goals, but seems to avoid criticism, whilst our centre halves take most of the blame.
  14. The manager is a bit grumpy 10 minutes after a game in which we lose 2 late goals. Hardly a shocking story. He is clearly aware that we don't have the depth of squad to challenge for the league and 3 games in we have resorted to playing a trialist to make up the numbers, with no intention of signing him as we have no cash. It sounds like we are abusing the system as he mentioned possibly playing 5 trialists on Tuesday night as we don't have to pay them. This is Sunday pub league stuff.
  15. We have rarely convinced away from home all season, but I think to go up we are going to have to produce our best performance for probably the last 2 or 3 years on the road. Agree on previous comments that Dobbie won't play 180 minutes but probably won't need to and still be the match winner. Minor miracle required perhaps, but we need to remember, Qos were in freefall and did lose up at Montrose in the first leg.
