Anybody who still doesn’t rate Dykes after last night, clearly isn’t watching the game. What a shift he put in.

Is there any rumours (idle gossip about random players coming is part of the fun)or news regarding players coming in before the window SLAMS shut?
I know the manager said it would be likely that any deals would be done near the end of the window. Can loan deals be completed after the window closes?
There will be players coming in but how many will depend on tonight’s result.

Noticed that Jason Kerr has reportedly had a £200’000 bid rejected by Saints from English League 1 side Barnsley.
His contract runs out in 2020, I reckon he’ll see it out and off to the English championship. It was 100 000. An absolute piss take of an offer.

McGrath scores in the bounce game against Annan also playing was Aaron splaine ex queens youth killie and Dunfermline midfielder last with Derry city and will train with the squad again next week good pedigree but hampered by injuries
Splaine is an interesting one. Suffered a bad injury but as you said made his comeback for Derry. He’ll know the area having been at us as a youngster and I believe he’s from Newton Stewart. I watched videos on YouTube of McGrath when he was in America, looked good but the standard was pretty amateur. 6ft 4 box to box midfielder who can also play at the back.

Pretty sure Naysmith said in one of his recent interviews that he was happy with the cover we have in defence, and any further signings will be in forward areas.
I know we are still looking at the American boy. He’s a central midfielder and featured against Annan last night.

Do we need players for his position(s) though, whatever his best position is.
Definitely not, no more defenders.

Semple was always only here until January anyway as it was a short loan. In knowing this we brought in Maguire who I may add has looked every bit as capable as Semple from what I’ve seen so far. Ross County have seen an opportunity arise with Semple going back down south and they have enquired about him. We all know the County owner isn’t short of a bob or two and they are getting a player they know can perform well at this level so it’s a no brainer really. As for the folk wondering why we never got him back, we don’t need him. I will miss him but as I said we got somebody else in. Brownlie is back also and there are other positions in the team that need strengthened first and foremost.

Anyone attending the bounce match against Annan tonight? I hear the American boy McGrath will be getting a run out for us. Brownlie also returns.

Interesting to hear your view on Jason Kerr..His loan spell (like Zander) at Queens was definitely a great success for both clubs.Jason has progressed again this season and is starting to look like one of the best central defenders in the premiership..

Skyline clearly states Kerr was excellent and the loan was good
not once saying anything to suggest Kerr was poor
LTS never mentioned anything about Kerr being poor...

Solid player with good potential. If we hadn’t brought in Maguire then I would have been gutted about this.

Brownlie is good cover to have back nonetheless but he’ll struggle to get into the team unless someone is injured/suspended.

Found a little info on him. Plays in midfield but can also cover at the back.

At this moment in time I would say this is Naysmiths best starting 11 since taking over as manager. We are hard to beat and scoring goals. Very impressed with his January signings so far and there’s still a couple more to come which will help this small squad. If we can avoid injuries then I’m very optimistic of a successful second half of the season.

Yes considering I’m an Ayr fanMy mistake I’m new to this and not familiar with users.
Looks like Moffat has really stepped up while Shankland has been out injured...

You clearly don’t see the work Moffat does. More to his game that goals and assists. In terms of link up play he’s the best in the league. You watch every Ayr game like?

The key point being Dobbie there tbf, could be playing with Dobbie and Alan Martin upfront and I still wouldn't want to swap him.
Moffat is the best second striker in the division IMO, him and Dobbie would be a fantastic partnership.
Ridiculous. You clearly don’t see the work Dykes does. And Michael Moffat 3 goals in 19 games with 4 assists is hardly the best second striker in the league.

A fast winger and can also fill in at right back. I’d have him, as he’s still a good option to have.
