They've only reached 4 finals since winning it 114yrs ago (1925, 1952, 1964, 2003). Indeed only reached League Cup final twice since last winning it (1980, 1995).
They haven't made either SF in almost 20yrs now.Jim Duffy is responsible for 33.34% of those final appearances.

Rollo's Pier (locally called Rollo's Folly in the 18th century) was named after a nearby pier which never served any purpose (hence "folly"). The park was located on marshy ground now occupied by student accommodation and flats at the top of Roseangle- so just to the east of Invergowrie Arab's photo. The ground was quirky in that some stone arches similar to the Tay Bridge arches at Barnetts (I think long gone) served as changing facilities. There's an artist's rendering in the book "Our Boys and the Wise Men".
Before being a football ground the land was used for outdoor dances and social events.

The closest Dundee have come would be 1948-49 when we lost the league on the last day of the season and were beaten semi- Finalists in both cups. Rangers won the actual treble beating us to the league and knocking us out of the league cup. Clyde knocked us out the Scottish.

Really hope the wider QP fan base isn’t affected by this decision. Looks like it was going to be members and season tix get first dibs, then open up to the rest come Monday. QP with at least the main stand and behind the goals to the right.
Highly dignified bitchin and morning aside, I kinda suspect Dundee would have got more tickets anyway once that process was complete.
Did Queen’s say that would have been the case?

To be fair, the Aberdeen v United League Cup Final replay in 1979/80 was moved to Dens and the Dundee Derby final the next year was also held at Dens. These were the only 2 times the final was played outside Glasgow and in consecutive seasons as well.
I don't think the Scottish Cup has ever been held outside Glasgow although it has been held at a few different grounds in the city.
It was held in Edinburgh in 1896 when Hearts played Hibs on the ground of St Bernards (New Logie Green).
It was also held at Kinning Park in 1881 at a time when the ground was outside the Glasgow City limits (subsumed into the city in 1897 according wiki)

Assume the holding company is owned by the Americans and will benefit them rather than the club? Or will dundee get some of the income surrounding area gives and from the stadiums non-match day revenue?
Much like other corporate groups I assume the non match day revenue will help cover costs/losses of running the club via a series of intercompany loans, recharges etc. The club won't necessarily benefit directly from non football profit. They will argue redeveloping Dens, as much as that would be superb, doesn't give them the additional strands of income that Nou Campy will.

Disappointing, that's the precedent been set now, by these money grubbing dayglo chunts.
Thank you.
Yup. Fully expect Dundee to fully reciprocate for the Dens derby.

Behave.
We should be out of sight here, tragic if we walk away with only a point.0 -
I think I'm right in saying that any win v Forfar in 90 minutes guarantees seeding in the last 16.

2 x Croatia v Scotland to be refunded. Shite.

Yeah I wondered that too and I also assumed there'd be a refund, but I still wanted to see it confirmed:I presume that if you're unsuccessful in the ballot and your tickets are cancelled, you'd get a full refund? Seems obvious but nowhere on the email I received does it actually say that and the FAQ don't cover it either.

He's just upset that we've abandoned the tippy tappy brand of football that guarantees him a hat trick.Considine trolling Dundee accusing them of long ball football on redtv last night.
And when big Andy speaks about Dundee, you listen. Well said.0 -
McCann persuaded Moussa to join a Premier League team and Jazza manages to negotiate a deal to get Hemmings to the Championship. The lad's an absolute genius and should try his hand at negotiating Brexit if he's this good.
And if it were up to the media JM would still be manager with Dodds his assistant. It's incredible that we spent 3 years in the Premiership without getting a decent striker yet get relegated and sign not one but two great strikers.
Just shows how shite McCann and McIntyre were.1 -
This "Netflix" style season ticket is being piloted in Denmark. Early signs are positive .Just lifted this from Dark Blue Forum seems like an excellent idea to me:
At present, the club loses out on money from fans who don't have a spare £350 in their bank account. They lose out on PATG money from fans who can't make it that particular week. They lose out on money from fans who begrudge physically taking £24 out the bank half way through the month. The traditional season ticket/PATG system is outdated. If we moved to a membership style system I am convinced it would result in more fans making a contribution to the club, more income to the club and higher attendances. Thinking about how it could work for DFC I would suggest 3 different categories of membership:
Gold - £35 per month (£420 per year)
- Entry to all home games, including friendlies and cup games.
- Free kids tickets.
- Priority for away tickets.
- 10% discount in club shop.
- 10% discount on food/drink in ground.
- 10% discount on hospitality.
- Monthly draw to win hospitality
- Access to DeeTV highlights, interviews etc.
Silver - £30 per month (£360 per year)
- Entry to all home league games.
Bronze - £10 per month (£120 per year)
- 25% off PATG prices
- 10% discount club shop
- 10% discount on food/drink in ground
- 10% discount on hospitality.
- Monthly draw to win hospitality
- Access to DeeTV highlights, interviews etc.
The prices/discounts would of course need to be calculated for viability better than I have just done but something along those lines I believe would be popular. Psychologically a direct debit that comes out the start of every month is much less noticeable than having to pay a high lump sum once a year or physically taking cash out the bank.

Congrats. My wife was in labour when St Mirren pumped us out the cup a couple years back- sensing the events at Dens he hung in in there until the early hours of the next morning. For anyone interested, my boy was born this morning at 5:21. Anything short of all three points today is a disgrace and McPake needs sacked. I'm away to bed. Goodnight.0 -
The second relegation battle was of McCann's own making, and yes, we were in danger of going down.McCann kept Dundee up twice. Second time we weren’t even in doubt of going down really.
McIntyre was torrid and took us down. Moussa and Mendy still did more than Andrew Davies has. He brought in his old pals and failed.
McCann oversaw the worst start to any league campaign in our 126 years and McIntyre the worst run of defeats since the 1890's.
They both had to go. Comparing them is like comparing Boris Johnson's and Jeremy Hunt's Brexit plans - a waste of energy and whatever choice you make will ultimately end us in the shit.5 -
Got you. Should have worked it out from 'Gibby'! All's good here - took the wee man to his first Dundee game at the weekend- time flies! Hope all is well with you.Jeez, small world. Worked with her at Pensions, you two were at my wedding! Hope all’s well.0 -
Erm...yes!Yeah, he did that for a girl I used to work with, too. Your wife is not originally from Beauly by any chance?!Were you at the place that got her that Dansette personalised mug?!

This. Utd were poor yesterday but we've also been rank fuckin awful this season and have been hammered by Championship clubs ourselves already. It would be the most Dundee thing ever for us to wipe out the banter potential of beautiful Monday by losing a play off to them.See in spite of how poor they were yesterday, all it takes is one poor refereeing decision like the one for Mcmullan's dive and all of a sudden the game is totally turned on its head.
I wouldn't trust us to dispatch them and I also wouldn't trust myself to not have a heart attack if we did end up having to play them. I'd probably be a shitebag and take us both playing top flight football if offered than having to chance to be relegated by them.
I appreciate that this post deserves numerous red dots but I've seen us shit the bed far too often to even want to contemplate that game.
That said, I would only fancy our chances in the playoffs against a declining Ayr side who won't get to the final anyway. 11th is pretty much auto relegation for us as far as I'm concerned.
We need to finish 10th.0

It's bittersweet- apparently we were the better team in the semi v United but threw away a great opportunity to get to the final- we had a good record v a good Saints team that season, winning three of our four league games.
