  1. After taking a second to think about newco/1st division logically, the story is utter shite. They either need voted into the SPL and then demoted, which they won't. Or they need a change in SFL rules needing 23 out of the 30 teams to agree. Seeing as they'd be fucking over 30/30 teams I doubt it. As for SKY, bullshit! I can't remember a single proper quote from Sky throughout this.

Can people please stop posting daily record stories.

    1st Division. Fucking unbelievable.

I'm getting real tired of this shit now. How exactly are they proposing to leapfrog 2 divisions and 20 teams. What about the likes of Spartans and Cove who could have credible SFL membership proposals. Oh, and one up one down means possibly screwing every 1st Division side next season. Never mind the past 4 and a half months, the past 13 years are an indication that the only quick decisions the SPL/SFL/SFA make are bad decisions.

  3. Don't suppose the SPL meeting on Thursday will be about making the league 11 teams instead of 12.

40 games, so more money. Home and away twice against each team, with no split. Also leaves no vacant spot in the SFL.

If D&P had done administration properly, we wouldn't now be on a rushed schedule. Why not dump new rangers for a season and mull over the options for the SPL and Scottish football.

  4. I would have thought that one of the clubs would have used the upcoming vote as a publicity stunt.

Why doesn't one of the clubs tell the fans that they can decide. All season ticket holders for the coming season

can vote on whether to allow newco into the SPL and that will be the decision of the club.

Gets the chairman off the hook and should start shifting some season tickets.

Bad form to comment on your own post, but I've had a bit more of a think on my thought.

The vote on new rangers would have to get pushed back a week to allow for end of month pay day, votes close on the 8th July.

Simple, YES, NO, Dithering b*****d Abstention vote when a ST is bought (ST already bought can get in contact with their vote)

Only new and renewed season ticket holders can vote (so not just any Tom, Dick and Hvn).

Never mind advertising the local rags and the national press would cover it.

If i was cynical of the Scottish press rolleyes.gif I would get them to print the votes so far, (unnamed source from the club) a week before the end.

    YES 47%

    NO 43%

    ABSTENTION 10%

Attendances have declined in recent years and some are waiting to buy until the rangers situation is clear. If the chairmen don't sniff an opportunity with the national press so focused on the SPL, then that is their loss.

  5. Sorry but that's a terrible suggestion. You want to alienate say, 50% of a club's support just because circumstances / work / finances dictate that they don't buy a ST ?

I gave up my ST at ER 3 years ago due to changes at my work. I still go to as many games as possible as a walk up, in fact the more I think about it, it would be a suicidal move for Hibs only to canvas ST holders given the capacity of the ground these days - Petrie needs the casual walk ups more than ever.

I'm in the same position as you with work/ST. I don't think it's a perfect idea, just surprised no one has done it.

Everything from fans, is about what we would do retroactively. I thought this would be the first proactive idea throughout this whole mess.

  7. "

    And

    IF

they are allowed to enter the top division an independent commission will decide if it’s the old club or the new club that has a case to answer over EBTs."

I would think the newco being culpable for Rangers sins is proviso number 1 of any re-entry and not down to an independent.

Beyond that don't let the cheating b*****ds back in.

  8. Not mid-season... the 1994-95 reconstruction was voted in a year before, creating the play-offs, and in 1999-2000 the 3-way play-off ceased to exist when Falkirk finished in a participating place having failed to upgrade Brockhole.

However, when it comes to promotion-n-relegation Aberdee have little room for moralism. They were promoted in 1905, after 1 season in the old Second Division, having finished 7th from 12.. and the Champion, who'd finished runners-up the year before, weren't promoted. Dodgy decisions aren't a modern phenomenon...

Automatic promotion and relegation didn't exist until 1921. Aberdeen were excepted into an increased league reconstruction.

  9. Sorry if this has already been asked. But if the CVA fails, Green has a contractual right to buy the assets for 5.5m

    1. How did that come about? If the CVA fails then dont the creditor get to pick over the carcass?

    2. Green isn't buying the club is he? He's giving them a loan? Or is he buying it - what the f**k? I'm confused. Is he getting all the assets in return for arranging a loan while the creditors get a share of £0

    3. How can D&P arrange a loan for rangers when they are in administration? Is that another breach by the dynamic duo?

    Some thing smells a little.....again.

I asked this and got a reply from a rangers fan. Was hoping for a back-up reply.
