  1. Is it just me, or is this thread running out of steam now?

If Rangers were to vanish for a season, I don't think it would have as much impact as what has happened so far.

If they were to go off and play in another country, citing irreconcilable differences, that would be interesting, I suppose. Australia?

I wanted to see them punished, severely, but the whole thing's like a limp rag now if they quietly go off and play in the Third. We need some AGGRO. Hate figures. Couldn't even bring myself to despise Doncaster on the radio the other night. It would have been like kicking a puppy. Maybe I'm just soft.

  2. Hamilton would have probably voted for a blank mandate, if it was on SPL headed notepaper. One only has to recall Ronnie Macdonald behaving like Neil Doncaster's groupie during the 10-team SPL months to perceive the situation there.

Alongside them we've 3 of Falkirk, Dundee, Forfar, Montrose... first 2 the most desperate to get back into SPL, or maybe there's just something in the Forfarshire water.

QotS just made a balls of it, hence their massive apologetic backtrack.

That guy Macdonald was up to all sorts the year Hamilton beat Dundee to the title.

That f***ing pitch for a start. Not content with it being an unfair advantage, Hamilton watered Gilhaney's wing at half-time I seem to recall, in one match. And somehow got (Dundee's) Antoine Curier sent off at NDP in the later game. They were a bunch of cynical hammer throwers.

Plus Macdonald was spreading all sorts of rumours about Dundee's finances (not true at that time, as far as I'm aware).

On the other hand, I sort of admired the old Arthur Daley get-up-at-any-costs spivvery of it all. Stopped just short of illegal behaviour.

  3. (Cut and pasted from the other thread, but too much love and understanding there)

This is weird. Can anyone believe it's happening? Rangers ARE going to Division 3, and we're up!

Always knew second was worth going for, but neither Dundee nor Falkirk seemed to give a toss about finishing second. We won our last game 1-0 at home v Livi to clinch it but lost our previous three, conceding three goals a game. Falkirk got a 5-2 home hammering off Livi, think it was.

Think we'll do ok. Got a great manager, and the other teams will have to cut costs. Our squad is thin (at the moment), but don't see us as any worse than a lot of the SPL dross. Come on, two new teams is refreshing! Every season please, even though we'd be in danger of going down, of course.

  4. So what about the theory that Sevco Rangers will be suspended for a year, and the SPL continues next season with 11 clubs? Then Sevco get invited back into a 14-team SPL?

Doesn't sound that far-fetched to me.

But it will make a mockery of all the meetings, votes and reconstruction ideas that suddenly count for nothing as the SPL connive to be reunited with one of the only two teams that matter to them.

  5. I you all think the gers breakdown fiasco is nearly finished just wait till next week.

I kinda get the feeling that everything is just about to get completely ugly after the SPL meeting on Monday.

There is NO WAY that the newco will be playing 3rd division football if these B@STARDS in charge have their way.

We will have our butts lubed by leaks that the newco will be parachuted straight into the SPL after Monday.

I do not think for one second that this is all over by a long shot and the most insulting sneaky underhanded moves are about to be revealed.

I'm most bothered by the bold type. There may be one pathetic attempt to resurrect the Rangers corpse on Monday, but it will fail. Then can we get on with the football, please?

We just don't have any more time for cliffhangers, and their impact is fast diminishing. In fact, they are so feeble now that they are laughable.

  6. Wow, if ever the whole ''verge of tears'' thing had any real meaning it's in those comments from Stewart Gilmour. If he was so bloody concerned why didn't they vote yes to have new Rangers in the top flight? What a tool.

Yes. The more that comes out, the more it all stinks.

What the f**k have the SFL to be sorry about? The only body to come out of this with their heads held high.

It seems that not only have the SPL been plotting to get Rangers back as soon as possible, they have been masking their No votes as voting for integrity. Which is worse than voting Yes!

Despicable behaviour, with the chairmen of St Mirren and Inverness, for a start, exposed as cowardly for not voting Yes. And fools, for expecting to get away with this sham. They have to be removed. Any other charmen of a similar inclination would do well to keep their mouths shut and take their medicine.

  7. That right. What will you do? Turn that wee bear in your avatar rabid? Get a grip mate ffs. This is about the future of the game and as Bennet the rangers fan has said on here some of your lot want your cake and eat it. Realise that what you've done is secure your own demise although maybe not unsure.gif

The Old Firm will never die, joined at the hip. Despise all they stand for. Take away the Protestant/Catholic pulling power, and you're left with just another club.

It's over. If you're missing Rangers already, bugger off into the Third Division.
