  1. Not a lot of chat so far this year lads, how is everyone fancying their chances? Ulster Final tomorrow Caoimhin, have to fancy Donegal? Any chance of a huge upset in Connacht?
  2. In fairness that is worse than Ryan Adams:lol:. Original is a classic though.
  3. Wonderwall cover years back, was it Ryan Adams? Horrific.
  4. Haven't scrolled through the entire thread so apologies if its been mentioned. Talk Tonight has always been one of my favourite songs, the live acoustic performances are always superb.
  5. Sounds like a cracking weekend Caoimhin. Ennis is just a bit far for me to go at present unfortunately. Would love to get my hands on a Scotland international jersey as well.
  6. Congrats to all you Donegal lads, thoroughly deserved victory this year. You've done it the hard way by beating some cracking sides ad deserved your day in the sun. What a job by Jim McGuinness, be even more of a Donegal legend now. Enjoy lads!
  7. Unfortunate ending for Gilroy but overall he did a terrific job for the Dubs. Lot of change next year with Kerry and Dublin both under new managers. Both will have their work cut out though as Donegal look very capable of having a few golden years.
  8. Difficult to know why Caoimhin you're absolutely correct. Plain to see though that the level of desire and hunger they played with during last seasons Sam winning Championship was nowhere near matched. Interesting to see how they come back from this, perhaps a wake up call and renewed hunger next year. Gilroys future still unclear but I for one hope he stays, in 3 years its one Sam and two Semis so overall he's been excellent for the Dubs. Donegal have looked very impressive, particularly in their last 3 games which have been against 3 of the top sides in the country. Really cant see past them in the Final, and if they do secure the Sam they'll certainly have done it the hard way.
  9. Very disappointing from the Dubs on Sunday, fully expected a victory but the game was as good as over at half time. Made a game of it in the 2nd half but too little too late. The effort and desire Dublin showed in the final 20 minutes has been missing in their whole Championship campaign, and in fairness a lot of luck got them through as far as the Semi Final. That sort of luck only lasts so long and the better team won on Sunday. Really looking forward to the final now, have to fancy Donegal but Mayo showed on Sunday they can handle the big occasion. Heres to a good game and a good day out for two sets of fans who are long overdue their crack at the Sam.
  10. I would happily recommend Waxys in Glasgow, watched the Semi Final and Final there last year and the atmospheres terrific, live trad music to follow as well. No shortage of Donegal fans up there either so you wouldn't be alone!
  11. Have to agree on todays performance Donegal will take some stopping. Great thing about Gaelic though is you never say never. I fancy Dublin to improve massively in the semi from their quarter final performance and to go on and beat Mayo. Then in the final, as I say never say never! Hats off to Donegal, unbelievable performance today. Fitness levels are unrivalled.
  12. Have to agree Caoimhin, the Dubs need a massive improvement against Mayo before they can think of the final though. Still hopeful they can retain Sam, all about peaking at the right time but certainly looked a mile from their peak against Laois. Donegal v Cork will be another cracker, hopefully as good as Donegal v Kerry was. All to play for!
  13. Very impressive performance by Mayo who should definately have enough to trouble Dublin in the semi. The lose of Moran could be decisive for them though. Dublin were just awful against a fairly plain Laois, another game where just enough was done to progress. Cork were terrific on Sunday, very ruthless and getting scores from all over. A great semi ahead now between them and Donegal, another great defensive display from the Ulster Champions was the foundations of another victory. The forward line this year has probably been the most consistant in the country. McFadden in particular was excellent on Sunday. Great weekend of action overall, and really looking forward to the semis now.
  14. In for a weekend of cracking action, be at the double header on Saturday and fancy a Mayo / Dublin outcome. Cannot wait for Sunday, especially Donegal v Kerry. Too close to call!
  15. All Ireland Quarter Final Draw Cork v Kildare Dublin v Laois Donegal v Kerry Mayo v Down The winner of Cork/Kildare will play the winner of Donegal/Kerry, and winner of Dublin/Laois will play the winner of Mayo/Down. Cracking draw from a Dublin perspective. Donegal v Kerry looks like a cracker and will be a real test of how far Donegal have come on since last year.
  16. Absolutely Caoimhin, an awful lot of work would need done and obstacles overcome before seeing any of that, but i'd love to see a greater Scottish involvement in the game at some point in the future.
  17. Cheers for the insight Waspie. Its good to know the future in Scotland looks quite bright with youth work being done. It would be great to see a Scotland side capable of having a Football international against Ireland in the future even at a minor level.
  18. Cheers Caoimhin. Remember seeing the Glasgow Gaels jersey and info displayed in Waxys anytime i was in there. Really would be good to see the game grow in Scotland to a reasonable level. I imagine theres a large amount of Irish students studying in Scottish Uni's so perhaps the game will grow stronger and hopefully see more Scottish participation.
  19. On a side note Caoimhin, seen you posted a few links for Scottish GAA teams, do you have any idea of the standard its played at or what kind of interest there is in it? Have you seen any games yourself? Cheers!
  20. Donegal look very strong, building on last years defensive work with a terrific forward line. I know a few folk have a sneaky feeling for Cork as well, but the Dubs dont seem to have peaked yet and have went through so far with lots to spare. Good few in the mix, perhaps the strongest in years, and it makes for an interesting summer.
  21. McGuigan was very hard done by considering Curtin stayed on for a worse offence. Dublin were hot and cold yesterday, had it not been for the two goals in 1st half added time it could easily been Meaths title. Brogan looked back to his best after a poor outing against Wexford, but still room for improvement overall for the Dubs. Meath look more than capable of beating Laois who struggled over Leitrim so the summer isnt over for them yet. And Kildare struggling by Limerick, what a weekend it was!
  22. Tyrone looked awful yesterday, totally outplayed. Kerry definately playing the nicer football and getting the ball forward more decisively, while Tyrone looked very slow paced, constant hand passing without really getting anywhere. O'Sullivan was really good for the Kingdom, as was Donaghy who appeared to be getting back to his old self. Where Tyrone go from here i dont know. The thing i found most disappointing from them yesterday was their discipline, or lack of more to the point. Totally lost their shape and composure and showed endless signs of petulance. Anyway heading to Croker today, cant see past Dublin but form truly does go out the window when these two meet. Talk of young Kilkenny making his full debut today fir Dublin, what a start!
  23. Fair point about Tyrone Waspie, there just seems to be a lot of injuries hampering them so far. As i say i fancy Kerry to win but i wouldn't write Tyrone off, more than capable of pulling it off. Guess thats the joy of the GAA, totally unpredictable!
  24. Kerry v Tyrone is a cracker for a qualifier, two teams who look to have struggled so far this year but fancy Kerry to be too strong for them.
