  1. With Raith hitting the panic button after a couple of postponements and selling Season Tickets early to give them a bit of financial breathing space, would they really be in a position to pay Smith off should they fail to go up? With talk of going to part-time status, I'd be surprised if they part with the cash for another manager, especially given the fact that Rovers will be firm favourites for the title next year either way.

We take up the complete front page of the Ayrshire Post, what a sight emoji7.png.

McCall says that there's no reason why the likes of Crawford, Rose and Shankland can make themselves known in the championship. Regarding Shankland he says the decision should come down to more than football.

McCall also says changes to the full time set up could be made with the aim of training in Ayr all the time.

Just hope training in Ayr full-time doesn't put players off joining. I think some players view partially training in Glasgow as a big benefit. I get what McCall is saying about being a real Community Club, but I hope we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with that one.

  3. He's talked about how much he has enjoyed being the main man here, as it's the first time he's experienced it. Would hate for him to jump at this Hearts move and end up being wasted on their bench. Having said that, if he does go, I'd rather it was somewhere like Hearts rather than another Championship team.

Have to echo what others have said about Paddy Boyle as well, it's the right decision but it's sad to see him go, I f***ing love that man. Farewell my prince.

Have to disagree, Clubs have all ready started announcing who will stay and go. We need to be quick off the mark to give us the best possible chance of having a successful season.

Well that's fair enough, but I'll let McCall worry about it. Saturday night was unbelievable and when I was walking down Ayr High Street in the sunshine on my lunch break, I still felt on top of the world, definitely wasn't agonising over next season's defence. Not ready to move on yet.  Champions.

Fair play Ayr, you took some stick last week (from me included) but that is one GIRUY back! Enjoy your summer and im sure our paths will cross again at some point ....

I saw after the Alloa debacle last week that you'd quoted me in the Champions Elect v Playoff Chasing Ayr thread and couldn't bear to look at it until now. Nice Gregg Wallace pic, thank god I can laugh at it now. This last 3 weeks have been a roller coaster of orgasmic highs and ball-crushing lows. Will need a full summer to recover tbh!

They are pulling crowds that wouldn't be out of place in the National League. If they are getting a decent commercial income they could reach that level.

I take all the credit for adopting them when I went to the first game back at Mariners Park.

I know of a lot of Sunderland ST holders who are watching South Shields on a weekly basis because of the state Sunderland are in (and the Julio Arca effect). They've certainly been unintended beneficiaries of the situation at the SoL. Those that go seem to love it as well, wonder if they'll even return to see SAFC when Ellis Short does eventually sell.

Boro with another dreadful performance last night as well. Pulis might be a great manager for keeping teams up but his style just isn't suited to teams going for promotion where they have to break teams down.

Shows what a dreadful result for Boro it was drawing 1-1 away at Burton Albion was when you see what Hull did to Burton last night

If by any luck we get to the play off finals, we may find Dumbarton will destroy us. They are a much better team imo. But I’m trying to stay positive. The run in has been awful. But we need a minor miracle.

I really don't think Dumbarton are a better side than Raith, let alone a much better side. I appreciate you're all very down on Rovers' chances at the moment having utterly shat the bed from being 8 points clear, but from an objective point of view, I'd strongly fancy your chances of joining us in the Championship assuming we do win the title.

Your home record is excellent, and no team will relish going to Stark's Park in such a high pressure game, let alone a Dumbarton side who have only been saved from automatic relegation by a laughably shite Brechin side. Dumbarton didn't register a single league goal in 2018 until the 13th of March, so nothing to fear there.

It just seems to me that everything is set up for Lewis Vaughan to relegate Dumbarton a year after saving them...

The Leagues gone regardless of what we do now, Ayr have too much breathing space.

I'm not entirely sure what benefits we are seeing to full time football. Fitness should be the main one, but that's three games against part time teams in a month where we have looked far less sharp towards the end of the game.

Attitude of the players is also horrific. When we got to 2-1, we gave away three petulant and needless fouls straight after to kill any hint of momentum.

    We're still second...

Title is very much still up for grabs, although we are of course now favourites.

He'll be playing with the under23s. Full time training will do him the world of good.  From The Time Capsule to full time football - Superb move for him.

Most of Sunderland's registered players under the age of 23 already in the first team! Agreed though, fantastic opportunity at a huge club, hope it goes well for him.

  11. Do you support the use of Capital Punishment in any form? I considered adding choices such as 'Yes, but only for terrorism/serial killers' but to be honest, I think you're either For it or Against it.

This question is really driven by a disturbing number of people that feature on my Twitter and Facebook feed who just type off the cuff comments like 'should be hanged', 'bring back hanging' etc for anything ranging from cold-blooded murder to slightly rough handling of a cat. Maybe this is simply a sign that I follow too many reprobates.

Do you support the use of the death penalty? What are your reasons for/against?
