The minibus has been found, although the extent of the damage isn't known yet.

Bullen is a head coach by all accounts, and is assisted by Davie White, who is the academy director. Unsure of his coaching qualifications but as far as the input goes goes it’s more corner boy carry on genuine tactical coaching. Could argue he mirrors Bullen rather than contrasts him.
David White is Head of Academy, rather than a director. He has a UEFA A Licence.

Surprised that’s not been mentioned actually, particularly after Callum commenting on how well he did and McGeady getting it tight for that goal - woeful goalkeeping!
Look more closely. He reacts to the first effort, which McGinty blocks. The ball then bounces off the Livingston player, leaving Mutch with little chance.

Depending on the school you attended or circle of friends then Scotland might not be the international team of choice
Doing my best to give you the benefit of the doubt, but your comment about schools comes across as rather ignorant.

Is Ian McCall taking training again?
He never did. More likely to watch it while sitting in his car and smoking a fag.

Key word being divisional.
They are still trophies won in a national competition.

I’d love to know what we have won of note then. Our history is embarrassing compared to similar sized clubs.
It’s a very English mentality calling cups ‘the diddy cup’. If Ayr United enters a competition we should be trying our absolute best to win it.
Did you miss the 9 divisional titles?

Was that not when the keeper was caught munching a pie on the bench, after some bookie had offered odds on it and he got his knuckles wrapped afterwards. Bizzare.
The very one. I'm sure he ate a pastie or sausage roll instead of a pie, but the FA still went after him.

It happens in England. A few years ago some non-league club drew Arsenal at home. Their ground was allegedly too small, and they eagerly agreed to switch to the Emirates and a financial bonanza. Of course they lost by a barrowload, whereas they might just have caused a surprise at home.
It caused a lot of adverse comment, and IIRC it was reported that it wouldn't be allowed in Scotland.
If you're thinking of Sutton United then the game was played at Sutton. Arsenal's last home match with a non-league club was in 1956.

Did Lee Gardner, or our 5 foot 2 left back at the time (Robertson?) not get a horror injury and ended up playing on. Like his right leg was pointing at 90 degrees from where it should have been from the knee down.
Garry Agnew was left-back that day. Gardner did play, though can't remember too much apart from the game being awful.

TNS or Bala away were the only 2 good draws (as they are fairly close for me!)
Colreaine, Cliftonville, East Kilbride, Kelty and University of Stirling acceptable as I dont think we have ever played any of those before.
I used to quite like the Challenge Cup (or Centenary cup as it started out as) but the b teams have ruined it for everyone. I quite like the LL/HL and the Irish, Welsh, Lower League English teams being in it though
We played Coleraine in the Martyn Campbell testimonial.
Unfortunately the National League teams aren't interested, and the League of Ireland season starting in February causes problems.

Did we not lose two consecutive finals?
Yes. The next year we lost 1-0 to Hamilton.

I can't find any record of this.
In season 48-49 we had to move a League Cup game against St. Mirren to Boghead, a Scottish Cup tie against Clyde to Ibrox and a league game against Dundee to Love Street. In all cases it was due to the state of the pitch.
We've played (old) Rangers at Cappielow, Ibrox, Celtic Park, St. Mirren Park and Hampden. Firhill too, in the final of the 1914 War Fund Shield.
We've met Aberdeen at Cappielow, Pittodrie, Hampden, Easter Road and Dens Park.
I'm sure I read it somewhere, though I could very well be wrong. Ironically Ayr have played a home game at Cappielow, against Raith in Challenge Cup tie. We were in the process of erecting new floodlights at Somerset at the time.

We've played Ayr in league games at Fir Park, Douglas Park, New Douglas Park, Broadwood, Somerset Park and (slightly guessing this one) Cliftonhill.
Must be close to a record for us as there can't be many teams we've played at all 5 grounds that I'm aware that we've called home.
We did also play them at a neutral site, but that was also Fir Park.
ETA we've also played Rangers at Ibrox, Douglas Park, New Douglas Park, Fir Park, Broadwood and Firhill.
The first Accies v Ayr match of the 96/97 season was at Cliftonhill, with the other being played at Fir Park as you mentioned. The clubs have also played each other at Firhill on a couple of occasions - definitely happened during the 94/95 season.

There was a lot of that, and likely other foodstuffs. I wasn't investigating too closely. The polis were waiting for them at Troon.

Just didn’t think that the food fight between Ayr and East Fife players on a ferry would ever be topped
Point of order. There was no Ayr v East Fife food fight. The Ayr players were spotless and busy playing cards (and sober). It was East Fife v East Fife (and they were pished).

Wanting to stay vs increasing your wages/get a good signing on fee is a consideration though.
I’m sure last year McInroys reason for leaving you or not wanting to sign perm was that he didn’t want to travel from fife to ayrshire every day and look how that turned out with a bit of extra wages flashed at him.
Bit different when your Mrs and wean are 400 miles away. I doubt your lot would have in excess of £200k to splash on one player these days.

Whitletts Celtic existed briefly in the early 20th century, back in the days when Whitletts was a mining village.

Yeah but you're thinking you'll be a top second place side on ten points
True. Had a quick look at the groups and think Group C is the only other one which can have a runner-up on 10 points.

There’s plenty of groups where the second place team could finish on 9+ points. I’d say 10 points should all but guarantee it but anything less is up in the air.
If we finished on 10 points and Stirling won they would win the group.

The U18s are playing Bonnyton U20s tonight at QMA which might explain the limited bench.
Probably more to do with Hewitt being ill and Bangala being injured.

That’s not how solidarity payments work.
I see what you mean. I'm too used to our players moving on at the end of a contract rather than being transferred.

If he's transferred for a fee while under contract then the solidarity payment is 5%, we'd be on maybe a tenth of that 5% as he was only with us for a year or so.
I've no idea what the rumoured fee is but if it was £1m then we'd get maybe £5k of the £1m. Hopefully it's £100m.
You wont get anything. He's 28.
