  1. McTominay has been fantastic recently but let's not start buying into the narrative that he should have been selected for ages because this is a recent development. Not long ago under Jose he was being singled out for high profile horror performances.
  2. They were a fantastic team to watch but they were not one of the world's biggest teams, most of which he could have played at. I'm glad you agree though, most don't really get where I'm coming with concerning that point.
  3. Haven't been through he whole thread but has Lambert been mentioned? Man of the match in a champions league final win. I don't like this attitude of someone having to play at the biggest teams to be considered world class or that it's somehow a lack of ambition to stay at a smaller team. I think opposite at times. The likes of shearer who could have gone to pretty much any team wanted to stay at his boyhood team and try to make them better rather than do what everyone else does. The status quo will never change if the conveyer belt of players just going to the best teams continues. I get the argument but I don't agree with it. I respect the likes of Shearer more for trying to make a smaller team stronger
  4. Anyone who has watched Mcginn in the last few months would be insane to say he shouldn't have been starting for Scotland. As a Villa fan I'm astounded at his performances recently. He has been magnificent and the villa fans on forums and social media (a notoriously hard to please group) are obsessed with him. He hasn't been lighting it up for Scotland but nobody has which says something about the manager. Mcginn under a decent Scotland manager will be an absolute legend
  5. My outsider choice was Hiddink as said before but I was told about his wages at the China u23s job. So when I saw his face on a shortlist of managers on a daily record article I get hyped.....then when I read it they were just randomly throwing names out......I never learn with that damn paper.
  6. I don't think Clark is likeable at all but he's doing a good job just now.....doesn't always mean they will in their next job. I'll back whoever it is (unless it's Malky) but I'd like us cm to cast the net wide. There will been loads that want the job from all over so no need to got the easy route.
  7. I think it needs to be a likeable character to unite fans. Not the most important factor in the long term but we simply need a good feeling back quick sharp. Big Sam would be a disaster on that front.
  8. I wouldn't be that bothered by that. Sure he's learned from mistakes and he's proved elsewhere he can do a job.
  9. Exactly I'm pretty much open to anyone and give them a shot as sometimes it just clicks. Hey could have been bad athing some jobs and suddenly they're great at another or vice versa. The reasons so many were against mcleish however are numerous.
  10. True and it's a hell of an earner. He might want to get back into tournament qualifiers etc. Never know unless you ask.
  11. I was half arsed when suggesting Guus Hiddink as I thought he'd be in some major job. He's managing China u23s so....who.knows. the south Korea 02 story is one of my favourite world cup adventures
  12. Unless there's a real vocal and visible opposition to the sfa nothing will change because they don't really answer to anyone sadly. I'm not usually one for protests and all that but they are rotten to the core and nothing is going to improve under them. It's shambles after shambles from them
  13. Get Guus Hiddink in to work that South Korea magic. Don't know if our players would be receptive to the work rate he demanded from them though
  14. very highly touted apparently....can see why. Saw a video of the highlights from yesterday too, he looked excellent........edit......here we are http://vimeo.com/106311679
  15. That's me and a group got some tickets for the Dundee show. Should be a cracker
  16. Pretty unfair to predict what he's going to do and say he has a terrible attitude for the thing he might do in the future
  17. I think Ferguson is actually ok, never used to like him but he's actually pretty impartial. Chick is a twat as everyone knows, Spencey, Gordon and English are really good. Turdo is hideously bad and only cares about one team and is so unbelievable upfront about it.
  18. Outside of the old firm the spfl is better than it has been in ages. Most clubs bringing through cracking youngsters and playing decent stuff. Easy to spout the same old pap though
