Similar to this, people who see their sick days as extra holiday. Last time I was off sick was a couple of years ago due to what can only be described as volcanic food poisoning

In Oz they see sick days as extra holiday, and are quite open about it. Had a workplace where everyone (including managers) was involved in a discussion about how many sick days for the year they had left, and how they were going to have to squeeze them in soon.

Suppose it's better than having to listen to some shite excuse like my dog has chronic diarrhoea or I've got the painters in.

Especially when you walk out behind the scum of the earth that don’t wash after being to the toilet.

Stephen Fry once asked what the difference is between a university education and a real life education?

At Uni they teach you to always wash your hands after going to the toilet.

Real life teaches you how to go to the toilet without pishing all over your fingers...

What's the etiquette for holding a seat for someone too stupid and slow to get there first?
Yesterday's train home, one seat left but some snooty looking, middle aged Weirdo goth has her bag on it.
Twice I ask her to kindly move her stuff and get total dingyed.

    This train is packed out.

A moment later, pushing his way past many disgruntled passengers comes some smelly, fat, 20 something with a blue's Brothers hat trying to make himself look hipster. They're a couple clearly. Forgetting myself I call them c***s and move on to find a nice seat on the stairs.

First come first seated no? If you're too fat and stupid to get on first, tough shit no?

Or should I make some "train friends Ohhhhh friends" in the hope of grabbing a seat during rush hour?

Had some arseholes try something similar on the last train from Edinburgh to Glasgow about a year ago.

Was in the middle of the festival, so the train is absolutely heaving. Looks like standing room only, but I spot 2 empty seats at a table of four.

Me and Mrs OSP go to sit down, only for the two plonks in the other seats to say "Sorry, out friends are sitting there". When I asked where they were, they said "They're getting on at Falkirk..."

Get yourself to f**k arseholes. They can stand like everyone else is having to do.

    Gosh that was facile.

Why not engage with what I'm saying instead and if you think I'm wrong, explain why.

I'll be honest, I typed out a big response debating the point. Then realised it was a waste of time trying to debate with someone so blinkered, and no fun.

So I replaced it with a waste of time post that was more fun.

The club are right.  If they don't pay him a salary they have no right to make any demands on his behaviour when he's not in club colours representing the club.  Tbf most refs are arseholes he probably deserved it.

But the incident started due to the player having a go about the ref's decisions that season. It's clearly related to football, and specifically what had happened previously with that club.

I don't think they should bin the guy for it, but to take no action whatsoever seems a bit shitty.

I agree there will always be shocks and upsets, generally in one off matches, but exactly what you say 'the joy in football is that sometimes anything can happen' is increasingly being removed.

Do you really think Celtic being so far ahead that they go a season unbeaten, win every domestic trophy for 2 seasons on the trot with no end in sight, is healthy? Does it make the sport interesting?

I'm biased mate. I'm a Celtic fan who grew up through the 90's. I'll thoroughly enjoy us winning in everything in sight for many years to come if it happens.

So it makes it more interesting to me.

What it doesn't do is make it more interesting to others, and I completely get your point there. As much as I wanted Celtic to win them, it was still enjoyable to see other teams get success in recent years in the cups outside of the usual suspects.

It just annoys me when some fans make such a point about finances that they make out it's barely worthwhile those with less resources even turn up.

We're in the Champions League against teams that spend more on goalkeepers who couldn't hold their breath never mind a shot than we do on our entire squad.

Is that a shite state of affairs that I would prefer not to be the case? - Yes!

Does it mean I shouldn't enjoy my team playing in that competition? - No!

Does it mean I should greet about it at every opportunity? - No!

Does it mean I can be a hypocrite and complain about how much money these clubs have, whilst also not wanting other clubs in Scotland to have greater resources? - Ye... I mean NO!

It's so easy to write this off when it's your team who benefit from it isn't it?

Carry on pretending it's cos you're Celtic and just naturally better than everyone else with a better coach and everything if it makes you feel better.  And let's just ignore the fact that your own manager was highlighting the financial gulf between Celtic and PSG, Barca etc making it nearly impossible to compete when that argument suited.

I understand it's not something Celtic fans, or the media want to acknowledge, as in a way it undermines any successes you have domestically, but its a fact, and it's ruined any competitive aspect in our game.

We need a self-imposed (as in by the league) squad salary cap in our sport, but the fact is Celtic and possibly rangers would never agree to it.

At no stage whatsoever have I claimed that Celtic don't benefit from having access to more funds than other teams. In much the same way that St Johnstone benefit from having access to more funds than the likes of East Fife or Cowdenbeath. And PSG and Barcelona benefit from having more than Celtic.

However the attitude that financial status instantly translates into automatic success is an easy excuse to use.

If that was truly the case, we would never have seen the likes of Dundee United, Hearts or Hibs relegated in recent years. Or Celtic beating Barcelona in a one off match. Or Clyde handing us our arses a few years ago in the Scottish.

Don't get me wrong, it makes it harder, no doubt. But the joy in football is that sometimes anything can happen. Some in here seem to have lost sight of that.

  8. Doesn't look like there's much point going to any league matches this year lads.

According to some on here, we should just post the Annual Turnover for each club, and the order of that decides the team's position in the league.

Saves all that time and energy of actually playing some matches...

Reckon he told Lustig “it’s coming home” which would incense any Swede. Not sure why Boyata reacted though, he’ll clearly be instrumental in defeating Logan’s mob in the final.

Boyata and Logan used to play beside each other coming through at Man City. I actually think Boyata felt he could talk to him about it more than anyone else could. I think thats why you see Boyata gesturing to several players, coaches and officials each time he tries to approach him.

The simple fact of it all is that yes, Logan incites abuse from the crowd with his behaviour, but that is never a reason for said abuse to be based upon race, religion, sexual preference, etc. I don't think anyone comes out of this whole situation in a positive light.
