  1. Well you called that one perfectly- its rare I do trebles myself for the same reason but last night was only to small stakes anyway so not too bitter.

Only race I saw was Akua'Bas one and it was a trot up- won by 7l when getting eased off.

Have to say thanks as I only went on those Horses because you seemed pretty sure they would win, and I made a - small - profit. So cheers :)

  2. Been a bit calmer in the horse betting front recently (saving myself for Goodwood) but might have some interest in a treble at Leopardstown tonight:

6.00 Cheddar Island- I've heard this one is being heavily backed and it was already forecast to be a short price at 6/4. Main concern is that it's shouldering top weight in heavyish going.

7.30 Akua'Ba - suffering from seconditis but hopefully it can beat that tonight- forecast price is 5/2.

9.00- Temlett- upped in class after a a hat trick of wins but carrying bottom weight- forecast 2/1

Not going to make me rich but it'll give a wee bit of interest to the night (till a couple of minutes after 6 at least).

All got chances but I never do just a treble on Horses (probably explains while I never win big) as if 2 win and one fucks up I am pissed off. I will probably put 3 singles and maybe a small treble on.

  3. It seems now that Sky News have caught and declared this guy guilty. Even their own police expert is saying they shouldn't discussing him at this stage. They've gove totally mental!

    Sky News is mad!!!

Don't like being so cynical (is that how you spell it ??:unsure: ) but the amount of coverage given to this is completely out of proportion and it's simply because it guarantees millions of viewers for the News channels. It's in Sky's interests to virtually declare this guy guilty as it's more of a story. As others have said earlier also the people giving huge donations are getting free publicity out of it, and it's sickening IMO.

When a soldier dies in Iraq why isn't it headline news for 2 weeks ? Is their life not as important as this wee girl's ?

Also why is no-one critisising the Parents ? Their actions were completely irresponsible and while it is obviously a distressing time for them they were partly to blame.

  4. It really wouldnt surprise me to find out later that something had happened to the girl earlier in the day, and the child going missing from the room is a cover story for something more sinister.

Yip, I think it's very strange that the Parents haven't been taken as suspects. The Parent's are the only people who they know were around the kids all day, so until they find anyone else who was with the children, surely they are the prime suspects. The problem is if the Police declared them as suspects they know the media would be on their back and they would get slaughtered for being so sad.

  5. Won £50 from the Rugby League tonight thanks to a mistake from the Coral Live Betting (at least I think it was). Hull KR were 4 points infront and were evens to win with a +4 handicap. Thought I might be missing something but thankfully I put £50 on them. Ended up winning by 22-20 :):)

  6. It means he would get less points than he got the season before, yep.

If I get 100 points for winning Tourney X on February 1st 2006, I have 100 points from that week contributing to my ranking for the whole year.

Then, when I come back to defend Tourney X on February 1st 2007, my ranking for last year was based on 100 points from Tourney X.

If I lose in the semis and only get 50 points, I am effectively 50 points down from where I was last year.

If I didn't bother my arse to play at all that week, I would have 0 points, and have lost 100 points from my ranking.

But they don't actually deduct ranking points off you if you don't do as well, you just don't gain as many ? (Sorry if I seem pretty stupid here, never really knew anything about tennis rankings :) )

  7. Just found the book I had to do for Higher English - The Inheritors by William Golding. I had a flick through it and reminded me of how unbelievably hard it was to read. If any of you want a challenge try and read it - it's like a different language. If you don't give up after the first chapter you deserve a medal. Although it's very clever once you realise what is going on :smartass:smartass

  8. I watched the match this morning, the first time I have seen him play for a while. Looks a much improved player, better shot selection and also a lot fitter. Also doesn't take tantrums as much anymore, although watching him shout abuse at his coach was quite funny. Doubt he will beat Nadal but I have no doubt he will win a Grand Slam in the future.
