  1. I heard that Guti could be interested in taking over at Palmy if he doesn't get the Real Madrid gig.
  2. Okay, so what is it that our groundsmen are doing wrong then?
  3. Do you know if the lamps are being upgraded to LEDs this time round?
  4. Was it not him that left the last time because he was homesick?
  5. Palmerston's capable of holding 20,000 for this type of concert but due to the limitations of the exits from the ground 14,000 is possible and 8,000 the most likely.
  6. Moving on slightly from all the doom and gloom a wee bird tells me that the much maligned Queens commercial department is lining up a major gig to take place at Palmerston in June. Excellent work Mrs T
  7. Don't ever remember him having that nickname. Graeme Dalziel was the only football playing "Diesel" I know. (same age group as Graeme Robertson) The only nickname I remember for Graeme Robertson was less than complimentary and a reference to female genitalia.
  8. You didn't notice all the new crush barriers, turnstiles and pieshop as well?
  9. Don't worry Mustafa there will be some lovely new yellow markings for you in due course. There will also be a lot of work to the old barriers and a few new ones too. There will be 3 turnstiles in the corner next to the end of the East stand and toilets and catering will be provided behind where the old pie shed used to be. The exit will be from the west end of the Terregles St. terrace. There is quite a bit of work to be done at the exit gate (at the bottom of the lighting pylon). The capacity will be almost double what it is at the moment, taking it up to about 1900. If they can fill that end 6 times this season it should more than pay for itself
  10. I think the intention is for it to be open for the big 3 only. Really unless the away crowd is likely to be more than 1100ish (half of the East stand) then there is no need to open the Terregles St. terrace, although I do agree it would be good to have the option of standing. The final capacity of the Terregles Street will be in the region of 1800 so realistically only Hibs, Hearts and Rangers are going to need about 2,900 away tickets.
  11. Don't know about that. I thought it would be up to the players to decide what numbers they wanted. Like lucky numbers or something significant to them. Antoine-Curier, i think, had the number 99 last season. I can see a few of these in our squad!
  12. Heard from a very reliable source on Monday that Zander was due to sign that day.
  13. It's only going to be on the flat part behind the new pitchside barrier, the stepped part of the terrace will be fenced off. It should still allow another 350 - 400 in though.
  14. True. It's looking like the overall capacity of the ground will be increased even taking into account the loss of the terrace to make way for the warm up area. The area behind the goal will be for away fans only though. Hopefully it'll be finished in time for the hordes of the great unwashed to fill on the 7th/8th Sept.
  15. A few posts further up this page discuss attitude on the football pitch. If Queens take this attitude onto the park against Annan or Threave/Spartans they'll lose! I still cringe when I think of the cup game against Albion of few years ago when the players thought it would be a walk in the park against a 3rd division team., or more recently the cup game against Brechin. You would certainly hope that the manager will have the team prepared with the right mindset before these matches and that the boys will be up for a scrap.
  16. "Any chance of getting a safety certificate for the Terregles Street end? " In a word....no!
