  8. In April 2011 the Board of Directors issued a Statement on the official Queens site which included the following: 'We have continued dialogue with the reinvigorated Queen of the South Supporters Trust on an ongoing basis since March and fully intend to continue to do so productively moving forward. If it is felt advantageous in time for a Trust representative to join the Board of Directors we will certainly not prevent it.' We now have 5 of the biggest supporter groups, with a combined membership of over 500 members, in favour of it.
  9. Mr X: communication is one very important aspect and the club have obviously stepped this up massively in the last few weeks. I think this has been a great improvement. The Trust would look to maintain that level and help where possible and improve on it where possible. The type of information is very important also. Was very surprised at recent slo meeting that when asked by someone how many Junior blues there are neither the director or slo could answer. These should be well known and shared as key indicators of the health of the club and how it is performing and identifying the areas that need addressed.
  10. Brother Grimm: one safeguard would be that if it was felt that the elected person was not carrying out their duties responsibly the Trust committee has the power to remove a Trust membership at any time. This would therefore effectively end that persons role as director and a new election would be held.
  11. No names. If successful it would be open to all Trust members to put themselves forward.

  15. Hi Senior Coconut, I am glad you brought it up as well. Happy to discuss any issues. Sorry for misunderstanding the aim of 1000 shares was an aim of the committee to reach for our 10th anniversary so we are bit behind with that one. We also aimed for 180 members this year and have so far reached a fantastic 218. We also aimed to produce a matchday poster for every game this season and so far so good and we aimed to get our resolution onto the AGM to give the shareholders the chance to vote on the issue for the first ever time. Ps don't worry we are also doing our best to make sure that we have some savings for the future.
  16. Hi, this was a list we produced a little while ago of the work the trust does.... http://queenstrust.org/?p=522 An updated version would include extra items such as hosting the quiz and author night at the club, purchase of hundreds of pounds of club shop vouchers for prizes for our raffle and sharing the matchday posters and guessing the score competitions on social media to promote games, main sponsorship of charity calendar of old queens photos. Designing and distributing the matchday posters to promote games (although costing nothing to the Trust does take many hours of volunteers time), also promoting queens and their news and events and history through our use of social media (again costing nothing just hours of volunteers time) Some recent posters from this season can be seen here... http://queenstrust.org/?p=880

  18. Maybe skyline could confirm if the club has or has not reclaimed any shares from any shareholders since the last share issue ran out.
  19. Hi Senior_Coconut, The Queens Trust currently has 924 shares. 804 of these were bought direct from the club until the club ran out of shares. It has been the Trusts aim to get to 1000 shares. It it is one of the main powers of the Trust to buy and own shares in the club. We have members who see this as very important and have made it clear they do not want the Trust money to go to the club or for the Trust to be seen as a cash cow and others who probably feel the opposite and want to see all our money go directly to the club but to be honest I have not heard from any of them. So there is a bit of a balance to strike but by quite some distance I would say the vast majority of the Trusts money and efforts since the Trust has started has gone towards the club. However we feel that slowly strengthening the Trust and reaching our targets is also important. So we have agreed recently on the purchase of some more shares that will help us reach our goal of 1000 shares. We have not been told of the club reclaiming any shares and making them available to the public for sale but it does appear on the clubs shareholder list that the number of deceased and unknown shareholders has been decreasing so maybe some have been reclaimed by the club although all shares do seem to be allocated.
  20. Hi Parkgatequeens, given the Trust membership of the last four years (2012. 59 members, 2013. 72 members, 2014. 112 members, 2015. 155 members) then I am absolutely delighted with a membership of 201 with still a few to come in. Out target for this year was 180. Obviously I would love there to be more but as a percentage of our home support I would say that it was pretty good. It does take time to grow and with more hard work we can hopefully keep it growing. Not too late for anyone to join that is interested. Thanks though for appreciating our effort and thanks NM_1919 and Doonhamer doon South for your comments.
