  1. As I’ve previously posted, I’m fucking raging about a lot of things today. I took exception to someone saying it doesn’t matter and the club not telling us why they did it doesn’t matter.
  2. I wrote a 1000 word essay earlier in the thread about everything that was wrong today and most of it is the club telling us f**k all. You’re ok with that. Everything must be rosy then. Im wanting the club to actually engage with the support regularly rather than when they are just looking for money. Prematch press conferences and post match interviews are a waste of time, not one mention in either. Voice of reason never asked. They have their chance to speak to us and say f**k all.
  3. Opposition teams deliberately turn us round because they know how important it can be, previous managers have spoken about what in brings. The atmosphere was dreadful the whole game. Why should the club tell us…..f**k me
  4. Maybe because for the last 114 years we have warmed up and kicked off from the Somerset road end. The club are telling us nothing and if that doesn’t concern you, magic.
  5. We’ll never know though because we are the silly c***s that pay in to watch this push every week. Why would the club have any dialogue with us about anything.
  6. Paton losing the plot at the end was weird. Guys got massive problems or he’s just a total w**k. Spent a good minute squaring up the the Somerset road end screaming abuse. Not one Ayr player got involved. Which was no surprise. Would have involved breaking sweat
  7. I thought I’d leave it a couple of hours and see if I calmed down but no. Still raging. there was a lot going on today that is giving me massive red flags. I could gladly never go back to Somerset again. I actually hated everything about the club at one point. The line up, it was shite last week. Even worse this week. The bench was made up of kids and guys Brown brought in that are dreadful kept their place. Players that were fit enough to make the bench last week were out. There could be illness or knocks but the club are telling us nothing but it is amazing that his preferred players all remained fit. Stillie was taking the keepers today, the keeper coach wasn’t there. We warmed up in the railway end and ran out to the railway end. Playing towards the Somerset road end. The whole point of doing it the other way is to come out to a welcome to the home support and the atmosphere in the second half if we are chasing a game. The atmosphere was completely flat. This is some Cary Caldwell shite. The game its self. Dreadful, every player was dreadful. No one knew what they were doing, no shape, no ideas, second to every ball, every player chasing their first touch. Sanders scoring puts him at -9 for the season. He’s early days McGinty x10. Brown was furious with him. Well f**k you Brown, you signed him and you keep playing him despite the mistakes. McHugh is not the right player to play in a 2. He’s asleep half the time. Bryden isn’t a left winger and that’s the nicest thing I can say about him. f**k knows what’s going on at the club but it needs to stop. That fucking queue they did at corners was an embarrassment, they tried it 4 times and we didn’t get close to the ball. Brown's post match comments blaming individual errors. He’s delusional if he thought that was the main problem today. We were honking against Dunfermline, Inverness and now Queens Park and we are getting worse
  8. Somerset Boab getting a shagging on a view from the terrace tonight
  9. I always had Robert Snodgrass nailed down as a brain dead fud but he has been very good doing the analysis tonight. thought the starting 11 were going toe to toe tonight, beat by a wonder-goal. Paterson was having a nightmare but it wasn’t catastrophic. Gilmour was dictating the game and it was a surprise he went off. McGinn was having a quiet game and would have been a better fit for a swap with Ferguson.
  10. I think Shankland showed tonight that he was, he showed his ability to find space loads of time, he lost his man every attack and was in space at 2-3 attacks where the final ball was poor. He had 3 chances in the game, hit the bar and put the other two on target. Gilmour was dictating the game. He took him off for Ferguson.. who deserves a chance but McGinn probably had his poorest game for Scotland and Ferguson replacing him would have been a better fit. Souter isn’t an international defender either.
  11. Steve Clarke channeling his inner Lee Bullen tonight. Two substitutions and he fucks the entire shebang
  12. I didn’t realise you were asking a rhetorical question. He hasn’t been injured for a few weeks so he was due one. Let’s hope McGinley isn’t crap. Although we’ll probably have McGinty there and Stanger/Sanders in the middle.
  13. I had a scan through the upcoming football auction in April where there is a couple of player memorabilia sales, most notably Paul Sturrock and Alex Miller. most of it is match-worn Scotland stuff but there are some Morton, Raith, Dunfermline, Airdrie & Thistle tops https://bidlive.grahambuddauctions.co.uk/auctions/8869/srgrah10067?utm_source=Facebook Ad&utm_medium=Scottish Sports Memorabilia April 2024&utm_campaign=Scottish Sports Memorabilia April 2024 - Carousel&utm_content=Rangers - Open Slide&page=1&pageSize=60
  14. Looking through the Scottish football auction and there is a match worn Ayr top from 88-90, number 16 so presumably a friendly match https://bidlive.grahambuddauctions.co.uk/auctions/8869/srgrah10067/lot-details/3bca10eb-20ad-4638-97a6-b131014a8a50 A thoroughly dull top.
  15. Ayr have shat themselves in every must win game for the last 5 years.
  16. The voting will be open soon for the “least shite” player of the year 2024 It should be Murphy, Chalmers, Dowds or McGinty. Id probably go Murphy. Absolute solid 7/10 every week. Young player, Bryden is probably the only real option although Chalmers, Syla and Dempsey probably qualify. Goal of the season. Murphy’s against Dundee United? Can’t think of any other great goals off the top of my head.
  17. If you were to do a Venn diagram of Scottish football fans, you would have Old firm fans Childhood fans of old firm clubs who now support a lower league team fans of premier league teams who think that anything below them are an irrelevance. lower league supporters. The top two categories will exclusively like OG and Clyde super scoreboard. the rest will like AVFTT and Off the ball. There will be a small overlap on all.
  18. Open goal is 90% premier league and 70% of that is about Rangers and Celtic. A lot of the anecdotes recited by current and former pro's tend to be dreadful. Andy Halliday is a dull but excitable person which is a bad combination and it is littered with mild homophobia. It's not for me but I will listen to the odd interview when it is someone I want to listen to. AVFTT, I listen to the lower league podcast and thats about it.
  19. Will I start a topic with other like minded individuals about our love of the Open goal podcast or start a fight with people who don't like it.
  20. He has a bit of a thankless job to be fair. When he does do stuff, it’s normally ripped to bits. Mostly deserved. But. He doesn’t help himself. He seems to be big on ideas and small on details a lot of the time. Speaking regularly on things would be better than the feeling that he’s dragged out against his will when things get critical. Him not being visible obviously doesn’t mean he’s doing f**k all, there will be loads he has to do Monday to Friday. Hopefully working deals for next season is one of them. But there have been a couple of mentions of his absence now so he’ll no doubt be in front of a camera soon.
  21. Uk media - ignore us all Scottish media - wee pat on the head sometimes Local media - puff pieces from journalists not wanting to lose access. Club media - propaganda
