  1. You seem to be doing a decent line in that yourself Sir.
  2. I think Ian Murray already has enough credit in the Bank of Reputation that he could afford another season with us, one in which expectation will be very low but the experience for him absolutely invaluable. And obviously were he to keep us up for a fourth term then his stock would soar accordingly. And anyway I'm far from convinced that he would wish to go to somewhere like St Mirren where you are under pressure from the word go, especially with less than two years football management under your belt. The most significant factor in all of it could turn out to be Leanne Dempster's move this week from Motherwell to Easter Road; Murray is known to be no fan of Rod Petrie and if he really is taking a step back from running Hibs then watch this space in around a year's time should Big Tel struggle in the season ahead they will presumably still grant him
  3. What about Ian Murray's contract ??? Any news there ?
  4. Dinner table and treatment table respectively.
  5. Correct, and the fact that we're all cooped up in 1/8 of the pitch's perimeter seems to be creating more tension than atmosphere.
  6. By 'definite' I take it you mean a built, finished and fit-for-purpose stadium allowing a straight transition without lodging at Cliftonhill or wherever. That being the case and allowing for much improved facilities then despite the dreadful location I'd probably go for it. As regards the Community Director he has to the best of my knowledge carried out his role scrupulously and with due discretion. Despite that he has not been kept fully in the communications loop, and that is both disappointing and disconcerting. The Board collectively deserves great credit for the football side of things in recent times, and if Brabco have contributed to that then fine and dandy. Let's not get all dewy-eyed over Brabco however, their raison d'etre would remain the pursuit of profit from the land sale no matter what was DFC's league position. And should they achieve that what happens then to the ownership of DFC ?
  7. Tell you what, attend a meeting of WDC, and then tell me that the average sawmill horse isn't brighter than the Council Leader.
  8. Well, people here will vote for semi-articulate Labour councillors for reasons that have hee-haw to do with politics, never mind good governance. They in turn make sure their bag-carriers, cheerleaders and operators are well-placed to do their bidding.
  9. Aye, young Kane certainly looks the part and it is very unusual to see a 5'9" striker be so effective. One of my mates said at Cowden that he reminded him of the young Ian Wallace in the way he never gives the back four (and keeper) a minutes peace, never mind his homing instinct for goals. The older generation will recognise this as high praise indeed. He also (so far anyway) converted big Nish from a moderately ugly duckling into a swan.
  10. Anyone know if this is allowed, and more to the point does the story have any substance ??
  11. So what's the script on the injuries to Agnew, Turner & Kilpatrick ? The OS never seems to carry any news or updates on injuries.
  12. In an nutshell we're far too lightweight, with too many neat footballers who cannot cope when opposing teams press hard on the man in possession - Alloa and Queens did this to good effect last week. Barry will I think remain for the season and I hear he will be happy to do that for playing time reasons - good stuff if true. He, Linton, Graham, Fleming, Ewings & Prunty have all earned pass marks whilst McGinn, Aggy and Turner have still to reach the heights of last season. I have to say that given the level they've played at, Murray and especially Nish have been a disappointment so far; I really expected much more from them. Gils, Megginson and Kirkpatrick are just the sort of neat but misfiring players mentioned above - we can't afford too many such types in a relegation dogfight. McKerracher could be a decent shout down the right hand side. As for January, I'd have no problem shipping out Kevin Smith, McDougall and Phinn to bring in a centre-back and a goal-scoring striker at the very least. It might not be that easy however
  13. Now that call-offs are becoming a fairly regular occurence at the BBS, what happens to folk who have booked hospitality ?
  14. Quitely is the name Snudge, you are mixing me up with George Gently. Oh and by the way, I'm actually smitten with this signing -10/10 for Ian Murray's efforts.
  15. Time to breathe some negativity back into the mix….better look away now Snudge. So, following on from Riordinho, what’s with the Robbie Nielson thing – have we become a charitable training facility for ex-Hearts and Hibs players ? At a time when we are heading into another hard season I would have thought that the priority would be to have every position in every game filled by guys who were at least under serious consideration as Sons players. And especially at centre-back. Discuss, but only on negative terms.
  16. Aye, up to a point. Pre-season games are fine for improving fitness and trialling players and formations but there comes a time when you need to determine your best XI and, injuries etc., permitting, go for it. That time will be Tuesday evening against Falkirk when I don’t expect to see the likes of McNiff and Ronald in the starting eleven.
  17. Was Ross Smith playing ? As for McNiff, no point in any of us having a go at the lad, but he's not up to Division One standard, so we have to hope he slides out of serious contention as the season nears.
  18. Everybody take note; only ultra- positive comments and absolutely no honest criticism to be posted on here. And your comments suggest you weren't there yesterday - care to confirm ?
  19. Hmmm, the sun must have gone for me, because several elements left me feeling queasy. Yet another Jekyll and Hyde performance from Grindlay, whilst an all-too-familiar scenario of the opposition simply passing their way thro our midfield was also a concern. TBH, the scoreline flattered us in the end, and although there were some good things on show and it was a friendly against Premier opposition I don't see signs of a settled line-up as yet. The lack of a central defensive partnership is a worry as is the lack of a physical presence up front. And what exactly is Megginson's position ?
  20. Yep, I reckon last season may have been the high water mark for Morton. I can see them becoming the Arsenal of Division One, continuing to play enchanting if schizophrenic football but winning hee-haw by way of trophies for the long foreseeable future. That won't stop the swivel-eyed element of their support however from continuing to claim, like the Bourbons in France, that it's all a historical aberration and the 'normal' order of things will eventually be resumed. Aye, right.
  21. Don't listen to the negativity of Sons fans on this one; the Jamster was pivotal in our promotion to Div One, and always gave a shift when called on last season. With his pace and sweet left peg he could be a real asset to Morton or any other Division One team. I would welcome a joust between him and Mark Gilhaney.
  22. So, what can you tell us about Mitch Megawatt ??
