Theres certainly more could be done but, come on then, lets hear your ideas for that too.
What do you mean? I mean that communication should be better Mark was doing a great job with his updates which seem to have dried up, at the supporters meeting my honest opinion was that he has started to become a bit more defensive and not as transparent. Maybe that's my negativity tho.
My hope is that when an SLO is in place again that we move forward, this will be determined on what they are able/allowed to do.
The twitter feed seems to have improved so that's a good step forward.0 -
I'm one of those people. I still feel quite bitter about it, and it totally changed my relationship with Queens. I probably averaged 10-15 home games a season before that vote and I've been to about 5-6 in total since. Most of the group I used to go with feel similarly - a couple haven't been back at all I think.
Time has passed, but it's passed in a way that has got me out of the habit of going. I've had kids since then too, which makes six hours away at the weekend hard to justify. I still enjoy it when I do get along although perhaps with less emotional attachment than before, and still get a rush of excitement at 4:50pm on a Saturday if I see Queens have won.
I'll not forgive the board for that disgraceful vote though. Shame on them. Unfortunately I can't see my view on Queens going back to the way it was before until those involved have left the club.
Sadly you are not alone, it still baffles me. A lot of the group I used to go with hardly make any games now. Probably a group of 7 or 8 are now down to 2 for every home game with an additional 2 making every other. It came at a time where lives were changing at our age group and kids/prioritising money became a consideration. The vote gave many (in my opinion) the reason they needed to stay at home.0 -
Do we really need newsletter style e-mails, when there's a website?
It's asking a Hell of a lot from people, for very little gain that I can see. I'd imagine that the vast majority of e-mail addresses on any database, belong to those who already go.
Yes, master the art of communicating on the website and social media first I'd say.0 -
Yes , let's no attend the game on Saturday because the club shop wasn't opened midweek . Give it a rest or volunteer yourself
At what point did I say that.
My point is that it's an opportunity to engage more people that is missed.0 -
Use the shop on match days . Simples
Aye great. Fantastic input.
My point was to highlight that the people who don't attend matches could be encouraged to maybe go on match days by dangling an inexpensive hook when they are actually at the arena.
This thread is great at highlighting why more people don't attend.

As a one-off for the start of the sessions, you're probably right. As I said, I dont see it achieving much in the long term
Did you suggest to the club before tonight that they should have the shop open, or ask if it would be?
Can the club not think for themselves??0 -
There are things on at the Arena every night. The idea that we should be staffing the shop for every event that goes on is fanciful and clearly not economic. Its the same as the semi-regular suggestion we should have a town centre retail outlet. We simply dont sell anywhere near enough for the extra profit to cover wages (never mind the overheads of a town centre outlet) and there is a limit to the amount of volunteer time available. There are also limits obviously to the pool of people when it comes to money handling too.
I presume either Eddie Warwick or Danny Armstrong were taking the kids clubs (possibly both). They both have shop keys and could have helped if someone wanted something I'm sure.
Quite honestly the reply I would've expected.
My point was that this is the start of the season, the ideal chance to sell new kit and probably more importantly Junior Blues.
You are correct though there is no way that the club can be expected to staff a shop where there needs to be wages shelled out every evening but as I said in my post the first sessions of the season, first time travel club had been all together in arena at the start of a new season seem to be missed opportunities to me.
It's an opinion but at a time where we are struggling with getting additional income and obviously numbers through the gate then surely £7.50 or whatever the minimum wage is for someone to stay on (if office staff finish at 4) is worth this huge gamble.0 -
Yes I do agree with that.

The club tries to do whatever it can on the cheap.... sorry most economically.
That's maybe a bit unfair. The whole PR/customer relations thing really gets on my goat tho.0 -

Maybe a chance to top up the 20's wages or maybe a case of the office staff starting an hour later on a Wed to be there when there is a rise in foot fall. Was same on a sat for the Stenhousemuir game at start of season, potentially some of your most loyal fans (customers) and the shop was again closed. Doesn't make sense to me.

Sadly I work office hours so that wouldn't work. I would have thought that queens could staff it between office staff and under 20's though? No??

Dont understand this negativity towards Stirling at all. When he came on against Brechin he played very well and his delivery was outstanding. He had a couple of indifferent displays in ill fated League Cup campaign - apply the same logic and you could put a line through more than half the squad.
Stirling has that rare commodity - ability. Let's sincerely hope that having made a great signing we don't ruin it by continually benching a potential match winner.
Jury is out for me... no one hopes he turns into a great source of chances. Think I might've done a job against an already beaten poor Brechin side though.
Let's hope he gets a start tomorrow in a game he is right up for, turns in a man of the match performance and kicks on for the rest of the season [emoji170]0 -
Hope so! We need him to be creative! [emoji1360]

On current displays that would seem rather hasty. He'll do fine once he settles in and gets a run of games.
He'll do fine if he can get passed a man and get a cross in the box and not terracing [emoji848]0 -
No need, we're heading your way tomorrow, we'll collect him about 1:30pm?
[emoji23] maybe we'll wait until 5.00pm. You never know.0 -
If you're not using the one you took from us, could we have him back please?
On current displays.... I'll drop him off when I'm passing [emoji1360]

What's involved in volunteering then, how do people get involved. Just contact the club? What are they looking for volunteers for? Obviously people's skill sets vary, if the club needs someone to help with an IT based email service for example I'm certainly not the man. I'm sure I could spare some time each week though if I felt that I could be of benefit.
