Fair enough. I still don`t agree that spending the money from Dobbie`s wages (even if it were possible to do so) on 2/3 half decent players could in any way be equally as good. That`s what I take your initial post on the subject to mean.
I`d rather be a bit low on numbers than bereft of quality. FWIW I`d imagine we`ll bring in another couple of players in the next few weeks. I`m happy enough for some of our promising youngsters to be in the squad.
Well I apologise for any confusion as I would never get rid of him, was just meaning hypothetically if we didn't have him we would possibly have a couple extra additions to the squad, obviously was told that his wage was getting funded outwith the club so wouldn't even make a difference0 -
I'm a big fan of dobbie not often in this league you get a player of that quality make the most of having him. It's been ages since we've had a player like that maybe latapy or stainrod
As I said in a earlier post I would keep him playing for many more years, I would never get rid of him but all I was saying was if we didn't have him we would possibly have a few extra players as his wage is significantly more than the average.. however it's reported that his wage is sourced outwith the club so is really irrelevant now0 -
It might not just be you though I don`t spot any other posters thus far thinking having no Dobbie in exchange for "2/3 half decent players" would a good idea.

I might be wrong I suspect amongst QOS fans it`s just you that thinks that.
So why would it just be me then??
Obviously as die hard doonhamer said it was reported it was funded out with the club, however if the club were paying a substantial amount to one player then surely his wage would cover the cost of 2 possibly 3 average players,, come on this is Scottish championship football and most players are probably not getting a lot more than the average person working a 40 hour week

It's depressing. We are wasting Dobbie and it's upsetting.
Obviously I don't think any of us would ever want Dobbie to leave, (I would keep him playing for many years then give him managers job lol) but does anyone think that his wage is maybe holding us back from signing 2/3 half decent players that could equally be as good0 -
McFadden is done and would be a complete waste of a wage for you guys.
Unfortunately for us we will probably end up signing him, with only a couple of weeks left to the league starts and doesn't look as if we're going to be signing anyone soon I feel he will be signed to (make up the number).
I know we haven't even played a competitive game yet but with the squad we have and the signings we've made I just can't see us doing any better than last season0 -
I was thinking about him a couple of weeks back. So much so that I actually checked the recent squad list of County's game. He wasn't even on the bench. He's a player I'd love to see back and IMO of all the youngsters we lost that season I think he was the biggest loss for us.
I don't know where he's based now and if he would want to move. Like Reilly I don't know if they'd want to take a backwards step career wise but given they've not really made the step up I imagine both will feature at this level for some club next season. Ideally us!
Pretty sure he was injured the last few months and made a return to the bench for there last game on Saturday0 -

I`ve no idea if Brotherston has an attitude problem or not but he has talent. Given the manager is pretty much just in the door i`d be hoping he would give the guy a chance. Plenty of young players with "attitude issues" who`ve turned into fine players over the years.
I remember the 4-1 game against Ayr, he was standing talking to a couple of his friends during the warm up and I over heard him talking and what I got from him was he was over confident in his ability0 -

If you just want to see about goings on at the club, don't dish out advice to others about what they should or should not be annoyed about and how they should or should not deal with spamming as a trolling device.

To be fair, if you want to read what's going on at the club go read the Official Site. I never understand people that come on here and clearly have internet access who then ask questions they could easily get the answer for on the OS or claim not to know something that has been news on there. This is a discussion site. For every item posted which is factual there's about half a dozen that are utter nonsense. Rusty's constant spamming ruins the flow of discussion completely. I have him on ignore so I don't see it now but it's no surprise those whose app doesn't let them ignore him complain about it.
In what part of my post SD did I say I came on here for news?? I for one unlike most others your referring about, do actually check the os very regularly and actually only come on p&b for the rumours and gossip.0 -
Just been on this for the first time in days and had 5 pages to read and only found out that a few of the 20s squad are on loan and due back Jan 1st, the rest is bickering between yourselfs and rusty, I'm gona grass on you and get you removed from the sight??? Get a grip what ages are you?? Just ignore him and don't read his messages if he's annoying you that much, but frankly people like myself just want to see about going ons at the club

Have noticed that a few people have been having a go at pickard and miller over the last few weeks, if I had to pick anyone that's been poor for me it's grant anderson, after a good start he's been very poor of late and would rather start brotherston ahead of him

Surely with him being out for so long last season, when he was offered a new contract we would put something in it to cut his time short other than having to pay a player a wage yet another season for the best part of a few months actually playing

I was actually nearly welling up reading what he has to say about our club, didn't think any player could love a club as much as the fans but he certainly does.

See dobbie made the spfl team of the week. Not that it means anything or will interest people but he's got to be the only queens player I have seen in it
