So what does Ferrer get from stepping in, apart from a wedge of money I'm assuming he doesn't need plus some ranking points? If he scuds Nishikori can he qualify?
Yes, I wud imagine that due to raonic not winning game ferrer can go through. Will need to win in straight sets tho.... and yes, he gets ranking points

Of course there was,no won and they made sure the SNP never fucked up Scotland. Because that's what would have happened if the yes and SNP had won.

I don't mind Sue Barker as she is more of a presenter and doesn't have to offer much insight into a games tactics, but Annabel Croft is far superior for Sky. The BBC commentary team, you feel they just get the job, as they have always done it. Andrew Castle is terrible. He was asking the viewers where Federer ranks amongst other global sporting greats. Tim Henman reeled off Usain Bolt and well known sporting greats from other sports. Castle just started naming his favourite cricketers.
I don't mind fair criticism and I think criticism of Cilic today was warranted. But Sky do it in such a better manner, Petchey is tremendous on the Sky Pad showing areas in which Cilic could have improved and in what ways Berdych took advantage of Cilic frailities. This is a far better method rather than say the person is more or less shite without any evidence to back up the view point.
The BBC coverage is the worst of any TV channel operating in UK. Eurosport has Mats WIlander and Annabel Croft for Grand Slams (although Virgina Wade is terrible), ITV have Fabrice Sontoro and Jim Courier (Inverdale letting them down) and Sky with Petchey, Croft, Rusedski and McLagan are the best team (although Cowan is the worst but still better than the BBC apart from Henman). If the BBC didn't have the tournament in HD I would watch it on a stream.
Cilic was very poor today, I think he will quite happily dine out on being a Grand Slam winner for the rest of his career. Wawrinka beats him easily as well, so even though he isn't mathematically out yet (before tonight's game) he won't win the third rubber.
Good insight. I agree with you that cilic was bad today yet castle just dresses him down with no suggestions. You kind of got the feeling that cilic was looking over at berdych and thinking... ha ha, feck u im a grand slam champ.
Sue Barker actually won a major so there is resoect there.
As for Sky, I love watching petchey deliver is usual a$$ kicking to Rudeski.

Andrew Castle ripping into a Grand Slam champion today, and then trying to blame Tim Henman
The man is a cretin imo.

I was seething at the Harley yellow, you could tell when barnes gave the penatly to begin with he was going to send someone to the bin. He then watches the replay where there is no contact from any Scotland player, never mind Harley. Everyone is expecting him to reverse the decision but instead completly ignores the TV pictures and bins Harley anyway.
The number of things he has got wrong over the years is incredible, a lot of the SH countries hate him, but i'd never really notice until Saturday how bad he really is.
He completely missed conteponis offside last play of world cup which cost scotland a QF place.. mans a buffoon

Watching a bit of this ATP finals lark. Andrew castle is an embarrasment, critising players he wouldnt even win a point against. And his jokes are sh1te. How this cretin keeps his job is beyond me.

It's like the "inconsiderate arseholes" scene in The Inbetweeners, my sincerest apologies!
Apology accepted

Did my post not live up to the insightful, well thought out OP? Apologies, I thought this was a satirical thread no?
Nope

Jesus Christ this part of the forum scares me. Democracy spoke, the Scottish spoke, the union was maintained and the people united, clearly the populace acknowledged that we are better together. As an English man living in Scotland I'm very happy with the outcome (never in doubt). The Catalonian issue is rather different though, desperation from the few remaining yessers by citing this as a valid comparison to Scottish independence. The parallel between raging Scottish nationalists and raging British nationalists (BNP) is delicious I must say, made all the more enjoyable when the raging Scottish nationalists don't notice the striking similarities. #rulebritannia

How many people shat it?
How many people didnt?

"Shite it" implies that Scotland wanted it but was too scared. In reality we just didn't fancy it full stop.
Disagree. Plenty of people sh@t it, probably enough to get the 45% to 50.1%. Parcel of rouges and sh1te bags

35% turnout and the No parties boycotted it. A full legal referendum would give a No vote.
Your second sentence is ridiculous

I see you're having trouble dealing with the fact Scotland was given the opportunity by the UK state to hold a legally binding referendum in which we voted to remain in the union. Catalonians have not been given this opportunity by their state to hold a legally binding referendum. If they did get one they'd undoubtedly vote to leave. The main problem for our separatists is that they are in a minority here and they can't handle this. They were given everything on a plate, question, timing, voting franchise etc etc. And they still lost even after two years of obsessing.
I think it was a tounge and cheek reference to the vile negative biased media coverage that the Brit State spouted before our referendum, causing some Scots to sh!te it.

I see the Argies are slight favourites for this with bookies. That really surprises me. I have a funny feeling Scotland will win this well..... so many false dawns tho

Not a bad draw for murray. Capable of winning all three matches. Its really jokers to lose tho

As I understand it, Welsh rugby league has fallen to pieces recently... Traditionally they were strong. Finished 3rd on their RLWC debut in 1975, ahead of NZ & France, and were the "4th Semi-Finalist" in both 1995 and 2000. We beat then 37-32 in playoff to qualify for RLWC 2008 but they were back in good form in 2010 winning the European Cup - I saw them gub us at Glasgow Hawks - and qualified for the Four Nations although they were badly outclassed.
But, terrible RLWC last year - 3 defeats including v Cook Islands!! - and now this shambles.
You could also look at France... traditionally they were the "4th power" in world rugby league (they reached the RLWC Final in 1960; and were invited into the inaugural Four Nations) even surpassing NZ during some periods. Both were the traditional Europe 'powerhouses': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_League_European_Cup#Past_tournaments
Apparently the Irish were one score from qualifying at one point.
We've had some luck, but a great achievement, and great opportunity for Scottish rugby league.
Cheers.... Sure we will take it anyway.. nice wee achievement

Ireland win 46-14, so Scotland win the title by a bawhair.
It was apparently to celebrate the centenary of the Rorke's Drift Test in 1914, when GB beat Australia despite finishing with 10 men. Those were the Aussie colours in those days.
Aye. Good news I guess. Ire needed to win by 41 and they were 28 nil up at half time.... then choked
Btw... did Wales not use to be handy at rugby league?? Cause they got bent over and completely horsed in this tournament

Scotland 22-38 France
Astonishing !! Scotland scored a simple try in the first 2mins and everyone thought "ah, here we go, easy"... France then dominated the rest of the half and scored 38 without reply. Crowd and players shell shocked. Missed tackles, dropped balls, sloppy passes. No scoring first 20mins of the 2nd half, but it seemed the French were settling for seeing it out. Big mistake. Great solo try then another pair in the dying minutes and Scotland scraped it. Scenes very much, like victory despite defeat.
But nevertheless, Ireland's result awaited.
Scotland have mucked this up. Ireland romping it against wales

Why is everyone so convinced that labour will pull away again? Has this kind of poll ever happened before prior to a general election?
Yes. There were couple of polls pre last general election that had SNP in front of Labour.... bout 6 months before. But never by this much

I've just taken part in a poll for YouGov. Questions included:
- how I voted in the last Westminster election.
- how I voted in the last Holyrood election (constituency and regional).
- how I would vote in the next election for each parliament
- how I voted in the referendum
- how I would vote if there was another referendum today
Interested to see if there has been any shift in Yes since the referendum, and also the effects of it on the parliamentary elections.
Any word on results of this?

Mentioned above I think.... but although murray has a stinker draw in Paris... it wud take a bizarre set of results for him not to qualify for London. I think raonic, ferrer, and berdych would all need to make semis... dimotrov would need to win???
