Surely you're not suggesting that Scottish football acted for its own self interests rather than sporting integrity?

I think Scottish Football acted in the only way they could, to be honest. We've had five or so years to digest the 'facts' and hone them into our and your narratives which clearly differ. The problem is not what happened but rather why.  The Rangers fans still struggle to see why the rest of Scotland really hate them.

Sporting integrity on the other hand is a little phrase that actually has no real meaning. It's just a phrase that some people use along with things like "we arra peepol".   What is important is that The Rangers are clinging on a bit like this guy. Without the physique, looks or talent obviously.

  2. Lambert's article is the usual shite brought out to promote the duopoly of the two big Glasgow clubs, nothing new really. Why he gets any press for this rubbish is the real question. Clearly Scottish Football did benefit from the lack of The Rangers in the upper echelons although in the Cups it's evens stevens in terms of different numbers of winners.  The real winners were the fans of the other 40 clubs who suddenly didn't have to push against two giants.  Those who found that it might just be possible to get to a cup final more easily and those who knew that the 'cheating' that had gone on was not being ignored and for that I thank social media.  Let's be honest almost all of Scotland united like never before against the blue half of Glasgow and beyond. I don't live there anymore but when I talk about Scottish football with people in England no-one asks after The Rangers, not one. They are forgotten by the many!

  3. I don't get all the anger. We've got an opportunity to build a new stadium, it looks good I think in the photoshopped photo. Pittodrie is not now fit for purpose, too old and fails some criteria for UEFA. The new stadium will hopefully be better. Why all the anger? It's not really anyone else's business what we do with our stadium, is it? Some people really need to do a bit of growing up and realise that not everything revolves around them and their lives.

  4. I see we've now sold over 10,000 season tickets which is nice. ^_^ http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/5189

Great news for Scottish Football and, forgetting my partisan views for a moment or two, I hope two or three other clubs* can do the same. Better atmospheres at grounds, more money in Scottish Football and a lot more fun! I still remember some of my earliest games at Ayr and Morton with really big crowds mostly locals supporting their local clubs. I've not been to Tynecastle since the days of being able to walk around the ground at half time but I do remember the noise.

*Excluding the cheeks of course who represent, or want to represent England and so should have a lot less to say about Scottish Football.
