Surely you can admit we attacked well against Peterhead and deserved to win despite the defence being a mess. It's been shit so far but the league is what everyone wants success in so personally I couldn't care less, however if we have lost all of our first 4 league games then I'll be worried.

We attacked well and i hope we play that way for the whole season. We will always ship goals in this league as the past 4 seasons have shown.

Wait, so you think how our reserves do against Clydebank has any bearing on how we will do in the league?

Come on how do you think things have gone?SA described the LC games as woeful. His words not mine. This was just more of the same reserves or not.See what SO8 posted above. In fact how he has described virtually all of the games so far.

Main positive from tonight is that I left before the rain came down.

Woeful game on a woeful pitch between two teams who looked more comfortable with the ball in the air than at their feet.

No mate it was a great performance from a team that will storm the championship this year.Thats what boghead ranter and snudge of the rose tinted spectacle brigade want to hear.

Congrats your jokes are as old as the man below.Jeez youre a real one trick pony.Furthermore you pick on me when there are others on here who have expressed similar worries to mine perhaps more emphatically.Looks like i touched a nerve in Larbert.BTW how are your beloved warriors doing????

Nope McCallum wasn't loaned out, hence why he's been on the fringes of our squad - getting 20 minute first team appearances every few weeks - for the best part of 3 years now.

Is he a noticeably better player than he was when he made his debut? Nope. Would he have learned anything playing with our U20s last year when he was evidently too good? Nope.

A loan spell would've been absolutely ideal for him.

My point was though that we loan players out and then free them...perhaps not loaning mccallum out meant that he potentially was in the managers plans regardless of  whether  he had improved or not.I do think that he has improved with age and with the coaching he has received  in the last couple of years. I really hope he gets a chance in the first team this time around.I reckon he deserves it.IMHO.

We've seen McCallum fail to develop as a player because he basically spent 2 years gathering splinters in his backside on the bench. If we aren't going to play players - which Stevie evidently won't in the case of Kass and Clark - then I'm all for loaning them out. They'll learn more in 6 months of competitive football than they will have in their entire careers to date.

...and then they will be freed!!!!Mccallum wasnt loaned out as far as i can remember and now at least should have a chance of first team football.

I'm a bit skeptical of us bringing in 5 players, I just can't see it, but it's possible we've gotten sponsorship from external sources like was rumoured to help out with Nade signing last year. I'd suggest loaning out Clark and Kassarate as an option to free up some extra cash (however slight), it's obvious they won't play this year.

Yeah outside help has come in a few times over the last number of years.I do though think its a shame that if we signed kassarate and clark that we dont then use them at all.Would rather they stayed personally than loaning them out.Cant see them being on much money.

Please stop using capitals randomly, Lorenzo. It looks like you're shouting and it's all a bit unnecessary.

I suspect we'll have some trialists tonight who will sign shortly after. Just a hunch if we don't get any signing news this afternoon.

I do beg your pardon.Im not shouting...just got the caps lock the wrong way round.Did not mean to upset you.

  10. Hope you're right as the team is simply picking itself. Also given the reduced squad and now the sudden turnaround of bringing in another 5 new faces(AS MENTIONED EARLIER).wHERE IS IT SUPPOSED WE GOT THE EXTRA CASH FROM?

We can play trialists tonight, so it's not the end of the world if we don't hear the confirmation before the match.  Stevie was talking on Saturday as if loan deals were done and it was just a matter of waiting on the clubs releasing the players to us. If we've signed nobody by Saturday then we can perhaps be disappointed and worried, but I'm sure we'll hear something.

We actually played well in parts but should have been out of sight by half time, another day we could have had 4/5/6.

First game I've seen since the end of last season, some observations from today..

Fraz looks to be struggling with the pace.

    Was impressed with Stiriling.

We need 2 up front, Thomson needs someone along side him to benefit from his hard work, we looked more threatening when wee Don played up beside him.

I can understand why, because of his attributes, Stevie is trying to turn Garry into a defensive mid but I'm just not convinced that's his best role when we have Gal, Barr and potentially sparky that can play the role better.

27 shots at goal today which wasn't bettered by anyone else playing in the competition including ICT, Ross County and Dundee who all won 7-0, 13 on target only bettered by Dundee's 14. I prefer the f**k it, we'll score one more than you approach.

Agree 100 percent with the above.Deffo need to play 2 up front.Need cover for wright just now until he gets up to full fitness.

  12. Whatever happens this season in terms of personnel i really really hope we have a right good go and play attacking football.I would rather we won 8 or 9 games this season even if it means a few hidings.A gung ho attitude is needed as if we sit back we tend to be crap at that and lose anyway. If we go down we go down but i'd like to see us show a bit of balls all the same. And no not the james grady variety.

It's difficult to believe but there were some positives from today's game.

For the first 45 minutes we were decent. Buchanan and Wright looked comfortable at the back, Fleming was much improved on the past 2 outings and Thomson looked lively. The real highlights were Stevenson dictating the play and Stirling getting into dangerous positions. The 2nd half showed up where we're frail - we desperately need a holding midfielder because Buchanan and Wright didnt look great with players running unchallenged at them. At 3-2 we went to pieces and the game was clearly over for us. Thats a worry that we can collapse so completely in the 2nd half of a game, although Dundee were excellent.

It's a source of concern but too early to panic. Darren Barr will hopefully come in and do that defensive midfield role. The small squad is an issue as we have no competition, or even cover, but theres still scope to address that with the right loan signings. If we go through the autumn and we're struggling then the manager may well come under scrutiny, but talk of pressure on the gaffer's job now is way too early.

No way Stevie should be sacked now.We really do need a fuller squad and the point of the lack of holding midfielder says it all. With a few decent additions we shpuld improve a fair bit.My only disappointment is that i really think we were capable of progressing from this group. If you look at our cup exploits last season in August we were rank as well.Yet in that same month we beat hibs and st mirren. So lets wait and see what the first quarter of the league season brings.

Waters at Alloa and brophy picked up games at Hamilton so neither would seem likeley .

Would hope Lindsay would be in thought and if we could get Ryan hardie would cheer me up

Lindsay would be awesome but brophy was criticised for his attitude while at the club.So i doubt he will be back.

Can I please try to sum up your post.........f**k Brabco.

Anyone who hides behind Brabco, no matter who they are, are c***s.

Real football fans don't need to hide.

You've taken a pounding of late. I support your post on this occasion.

Thanks TRFTS.Some of those.having a go are within their rights as they dont know me and think im scaremongering.Im not at all.My assumptions and that is all they are was based on what i have heard and trying to look a bit beyond the facade to  understand whats going on.The whole sevco thing came as a shock and i dont want the same to happen to DFC.A correction made above...yes GL was CEO and i meant to say was crucial for the club as a go-between it and brabco.Given brabco's interest in DFC being purely financial i think caution is imperative

    #adminlooming

The loss of gilbert lawrie coupled with overspending would almost certainly bring about the above.I understand the club have been able to get the new players in on reasonable wages (very reasonable when you consider JT).This prudent financial approach will insure we will have a club to support. However whatever happens with BRABCO is anyones guess and it is a bit of a damocles sword from that point of view.Given we own our ground i would hope that whatever the fallout we will always have a club to support.

Aye, it was more fan knicker wetting that blew our budget out of proportion than anything the club or manager have said.

To be fair stevie did say a squad of 16 ......big difference in football from a squad of 16 and a squad of 20.I do believe they exacerbated things with those comments.

  18. With 3 new additions our squad is more or less the same size as last year.Dont know why the club stressed the lack of cash situ so much. One thing is cutting away the DS , another thing cutting away 1st team squad places.Sounds ok to me.Now just to get the right team organized on the park.'mon the stevies.
