  1. Nope things have gone quiet on the manager front, Reading between the lines at recent press stories it would appear Martyn Corrigan our current Caretaker Manager is the favourite for the job. Most Albion fans want someone else as Corrigan was part of the previous management team who did nothing during their time at the club. Might get some movement on the position after the Linlithgow Rose game.
  2. It's a pity that, agree it will be a loss for us, wish him well for the future.
  3. Wondered why he did not start today, hope he gets over it soon, need him for Cowdenbeath next week.
  4. They are now 1 point above us now but hopefully when we get another manager in we will start the charge up the League to hopefully the playoffs.
  5. Fortunately for us at the moment Montrose and Edinburgh City are worse than us. Just hope they stay as bad throughout the season.
  6. Hopefully this will happen shortly, even the Board must see that McLaren just simply isn't the man for the job, why they gave him another contract in the summer is beyond me.
  7. Missed a couple of decent chances yesterday and had the City goalkeeper deny him a goal in the 2nd half with a good save apart from that has done okay.
  8. Hope so but Ross Forsyth isn't getting any younger and sooner rather than later we need someone to take over that position. The Edinburgh City game could be the ideal opportunity to give him any chance imo.
  9. Yes been out since picking up a knee injury against Falkirk, hopefully he gets back to fitness soon. Another option for us when he returns.
  10. Agree regarding Dickson, feel their is a good player somewhere but he only shows it on rare occasions, most of the rest of the time he just runs around doing not much. At the end of the day McLaren has to get us into at least the playoffs to keep his job, anything less and he's gone. That might come sooner if we start shipping goals away from home.
  11. I didn't think the defence was that bad tbh, it could be that McLaren thought his main concern lay in the midfield and up front. He has brought in a couple of good players in Hodge, Ferns, Henderson and MacKenzie who have shown they can perform well but I just wonder why he dropped Davidson from the lineup to the bench this season. Imo he should be a starter, also surely Jamie Mills should be getting more game time, Ross Forsyth has been a good servant to the club but I feel he should be playing less this season and Mills should be given the chance to show what he can do at left back.
  12. Hopefully we can improve but as I have said previously the Board made the decision to give him an extension to his contract despite the performance last season in finishing 7th. He is at the last chance saloon imo and if results don`t go well in the next 4 or 5 weeks and we continue to ship goals then I expect the Board to get rid of him. He`s being given more money than Greg McDonald had in the signing of Blair Henderson tbh and while he looks like a good signing so far we need to make sure the defence stops leaking goals overwise its pointless being able to score goals but lose more at the other end, that's what the manager is paid to sort out and if he can`t then he needs to be replaced with someone who is capable of doing that. Football is a results driven business and if the results are poor then ultimately the manager carries the can.
  13. I don't think we are bad as that but clearly if we don't improve then it's another season wasted finishing 6th or 7th in the League.
  14. Every since the Boxing Day 2015 game against East Fife we have struggled and apart from the odd freak result against Montrose we have done nothing. Our defence is a bomb scare, shipping in goals especially away from home this season. The only thing in our favour just now are their teams like Cowdenbeath, Montrose and Edinburgh City who are worse than us just now in that order and unless our defence improves then forget about playoffs and promotion.
  15. Cant see it happening this early in the season but if I was on the Board I would have cause for concern if we continue to ship goals. I would expect them to hope the side improves and if it does not expect them to act. I`d give him to the first quarter of the season and if were in the bottom half then expect them to act, if not the fans will make their feelings well known. That's 8 goals shipped in 2 away games, simply not good enough if we are to have any ambitions for playoffs/promotion this season. We face Edinburgh City next at Forthbank and would expect us to win, then we face the current League Leaders Forfar away and if our defence plays like today then its going to be another bad day.
  16. Don't know what happened but I had problems getting on to it with Windows 10 and the Edge browser, just kept getting a warning about the Sites Security Certificate but found iyou used Internet Explorer you got on but now nothing just a message comes up regarding expiry of name domain. Just hope its down to get the problems fixed, hate to lose it.
  17. Welcome addition imo, agree with you bit light up front should Henderson get injured, just hope we use him well and if he starts scoring you never know might fancy the short journey from Alloa to Stirling on a permanent basis.
  18. Peer to Peer lending is not risk free, unlike most UK Banks and Building Societies its NOT covered by the Governments £75,000 scheme where if the Bank goes bust you get your money back up to that amount. Had a look around the market amd picked Wellesley & Co as I though they looked the safest bet. They may be other schemes out their paying more but as you say its a balancing act between risk and reward, quite happy to get a far better return than most of what is out their.
  19. It was part of the lump sum I got when my pension matured and I invested some of it to get a monthly income in Wellesley & Co. Had no problems so far and once the 12 months period is up and everything turns out fine, would consider putting more money into Peer to Peer lending given the poor returns you are getting elsewhere and are looking to generate a bit more cash each month.
  20. Yes I have invested a small sum of my pension cash in peer to peer lending at Wellesley & Co for a 12 month period getting 3.75% interest for the year given the low interest rates you are getting now makes it very attractive if you are willing to take the risk.
  21. Fearns has been one of our better players so far and I too was a bit surprised to see him on the bench yesterday and agree with you he should have started. Just hope he hasn't fallen out with McLaren or was it some sort of tactical switch which only McLaren could dream up ?
  22. Also Ross McGeachie as well missed the early cup games due to injury, might play.
  23. I was a bit disappointed with Moses in the Hearts game, in his favour he's young and still got a lot to learn, with his pace he could be our super sub to put on when we need to go for goals.
