United’s results at the moment suggest to me we’re a fairly talented team that is either a) incredibly low on confidence or b) utterly lacking in fight. We seem completely incapable of scrapping our way to a one nil win or taking anything from a tight match, but if we score first and get on top we can look very good.

As Michael Stewart says we’re way too soft.

Leave the new clown until the seasons end, consolidation in the lower league will be success as long as there's no threat of relegation that is.

Most of the McPake player contracts will expire come then, which is a positive obviously.

Then it's down to Tim Keyes to empty John Nelms, Gordon Strachan and the current manager.

Appoint Jim Duffy, Tony Pulis or Ian Holloway to oversee the upstairs Nelms/Strachan so called contribution to allow our new manager Charlie Adam to thrive.

    Merely my realistic unpopular opinion.

See what you're saying Ross, however Gary Bowyer has been and is, let's be honest an English lower league management version of James McPake.

Leave as is, we are fucked my man. Now attained 19 points from 39, less than a 50% return ffs.

WE ARE DUNDEE FC unless we're all forgetting.

Can’t believe any dees fan thinks consolidation in that sheiity league is a success. Bin your manager and get Tam Courts in and you’ll scoosh that league.

    you’re welcome, thank you.

McGrath, in my recall, played centrally for St Mirren mostly. Strangely, the game I recall him playing wide was the 5-1 defeat for United at Tannadice in January last year: he scored twice.

I can't really pin down where he is playing for United, but he rarely looks central to me.

To the game, have Motherwell been better away from home than at Fir Park in the league this season?

Did he not play as a 10 for St Mirren.

I'll be happy with a United win, Johnnies & Killie sharing the points, and Hearts pumping County.

I think County will beat Hearts. Hearts have been rotten in every game after a European night. I’m sure the game is away from home so there will be tiredness after the match plus travelling and they then have to travel to Dingwall.

Despite the win last week, it was very much a watch through the hands performance as we snuck away from West Lothian with 3 points. The swashbuckling Staggies look to get 2 wins on the spin for the first time this season, but it comes against our perennial bogey team in the shape of United who seem to have hit a great patch of form.

I feel as if our defence is our strongest asset at the minute, so don’t see that back 4 changing in terms of shape. It seems to be two sides with very similar styles, so it’ll be interesting to see which team takes the initiative and gets on the ball immediately. When County have the brunt of the possession, we struggle badly to break teams down - Dunfermline and Buckie perfect examples. I think the game will be won in the middle of the park; United seem pretty lightweight there but so are we so it’s imperative we take a hold of the middle third. Hence, I can see us setting up to break on United, so this is the sort of team I reckon we’ll see:

    Laidlaw

    Johnson-Baldwin-Iacovitti-Purrington

    Tillson-Cancola

    Edwards-Callachan-Hiwula

    White

I think Johnson should start in place of Watson purely to deal with Middleton’s pace, plus he’s more of an asset than Watson on the break. The two of Tillson and Cancola gives us probably our best mix of athleticism and power combined, as well as Cancola’s ability to spray passes from deep. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve not been Callachan’s biggest fan but I can see his dynamism suiting us if we’re to cheat and leave 3 up. Hiwula did brilliantly last week when he came on and deserves a start too. I think the game will be tight, don’t see many goals in it at all. I think whoever wins it will sneak it, and I think we’re due a win against United so I’m going to plump for a 1-0 win for the good guys.

Our so called lightweight midfield just boosted by addition of Arnaud Djoum.

Tonight wasn't our night.  Still the better team.  Nisbet and McGeady will be brilliant additions to come back as well as Kyle Magennis getting match fit.

Said before was a good game, your lot seem to be a bit erm bitter despite the win.  Not really our fault players get sent off against us and we won 2-0 2 weeks back when the opposition decided not to become a hatchet mob.  Two Dundee Utd players could have easily went tonight.  Defender for the elbow and Watt.

Didn’t think I’d get a bite but better at fishing than I thought.

Aye having seen it again the referee bailed us out with that non-equaliser. There's a little shove/hands on Freeman's back in the build up to the scissor kick immediately before the goal, but there's not that much in it. Our defence, Freeman in particular, don't react as if there's been a blatant foul either.

The referee really was horrific tonight though.

Yeah, agree, but thems the breaks, eh. Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they don’t. We’ve been on the receiving end plenty. Think of the games against hibs recently at Tannadice where they’ve scored offside goals.

    HT: Dundee United 1-0 Hibernian

For any Hibs fans baffled at the ruling out of their equaliser, we're seeing a run of replays here, and it looks like the referee has signalled there was a push on a Dundee United defender from Elie Youan.

To make matters more confusing, the assistant referee seems to have raised his flag for offside. Neither Youan, nor Mykola Kukharevych, who netted, were offside.

So it was disallowed for a push then. Fair enough.

Pay attention next time there's a United game on, you don't hear individual voices from the homes support that clearly. The audio for games is almost like sitting in with the away support though, your boys were like a mob of Victor Meldrews all night, as were the Aberdeen fans at the weekend.

I wish they could sort the audio out. Annoying that it’s more the away support that gets picked up.
