  1. Last season we were 1-1 at half time, having played against a ridiculously strong wind. Their goal blew in straight from a corner. Ball seemed to turn through almost 60 degrees at front post.
Not sure  if either manager wanted the game to start, but I'm sure Mr Campbell wasn't too keen on the 2nd half going ahead. And sure enough the game was abandoned. As far as us Ayr fans were concerned this was a total travesty as the conditions had not got any worse.
Despite a 260 ml round trip, we thought it would be a farce if the game went ahead, and that's how it turned out. But having started it should have finished.

Funnily enough our midweek trip to Somerset last season was played in full, in far worse conditions than that game.
  2. Don’t agree with that at all... I thought it was idiotic to set up 4-4-2 against a Dundee team who are all about working round Adam in a middle three... Dundee’s (McPake’s) limitations let him off the hook. They could and should have been out of sight by half-time.

If you ignore the fact that it worked and the player Adam was up against was voted man of the match then you definitely have a point.
  3. As I said, he played well. However, Gaston, for instance, hardly put a foot wrong. and kept us in the game on a couple of occasions. Ricky played well too, and scored a decent goal. TOB rescued us at the end when he wasn't the favourite to win the ball etc, etc.
Maybe it's just my complete total and utter bias against the Old Firm. I hope that Ben wins me over in the next few games.

Gaston made a good save but his kicking was horrendous, gave the ball to the opposition on numerous occasions.
  4. Think the actual result will be clouding some judgement among us but I think it was the correct call not to be bringing Linn on in such a tight game where being really disciplined as a unit was so important and actually working, the fact we didn’t see the game out doesn’t really change my opinion on that one.

On a side note, our set pieces must easily be the worst in this league, our delivery is consistently dire now.

  5. It's the clubs who are going to suffer so badly though.... by the time we're in a position to play real football, the clubs will be utterly fucked financially, mainly due to the decision to provide this 'entertainment' at a considerable loss to every club involved.
As I said a while ago..... it's not worth it. It's incredible that anyone thought this was going to turn out okay..... and it hasn't even began to hit hard yet.

I think with the benefit of hindsight this is now correct but not a single club would’ve been signing up for a full season behind closed doors, the worst case scenario at the start of the season was really mooted no fans until about October.

“Non elite” football in England is allowed crowds of up to 600 in, which for us is what we were probably aiming for.

Even with the rise in cases, 600 in most Scottish grounds especially below the premiership isn’t really risky at all.
