  1. I'd keep Morrison - before his injury reckon he and Fox were our strongest pairing in central defence He's got pace, something that Grant and Kilday lack I'd also retain Gillies - I like what I've seen of him in his limited opportunities...
  2. Would have taken a draw before kick off but gutting to concede so late Heartening performance although sat back too deep last 10 mins Dont think Simon Murray substitution helped in that respect we lost Mchugh's ability to hold the ball up and didn't manage the game out. Not impressed by Cove tbh not exactly pleasing on the eye and non stop petulance from Neill & Fyvie. Airdrie a better footballing team from what I've witnessed but grabbing an ugly point when not at your best is what wins titles
  3. A week's a long time in football is this the Luca Connell who got a double at Dumbarton last week?! Liam Brown not at his best yesterday no idea how he got MoM but you seriously telling me he's a luxury you'd dispense with?
  4. Interesting take thought Bronsky was a bombscare and didn't think Sons threatened much other than start of 2nd half when thwarted by 2 excellent Ferrie saves Peter Grant strolled it and won everything in the air and also thought Thomson had a very solid game. I know I'm in the minority but think there's a player in there he did a lot of good defensive work. Also credit where credit's due full songbook from our vocal section today some new tunes to me and a fine rendition of Enjoy Yourself [emoji445][emoji122]
  5. For balance our loss rate is 12% so with a decent striker... It's felt like more than a few shouts and boos in recent weeks but if that's your way of sticking with the team...
  6. Minority view on here but 100% agree with this
  7. Where do I sign up for the booklickers club if I choose to keep my frustration to myself, not abuse individual players and not boo the team off the park? I didnt applaud them off either and did anyone suggest you're not allowed to be angry? You can howl at the moon after every misplaced pass if you like I just don't see how it makes things better on the park which I assume we all want. Can't be arsed and shitebags is pretty strong stuff I'd love to see you run that one past Michael Doyle does he look as if he's not trying and not as equally frustrated as the rest of us?
  8. Calum Ferrie has been excellent for us his first real mistake although obviously an absolute howler [emoji2357]
  9. Shit show, disgrace and booing your own team off the park [emoji848]underperforming, disappointing and incredibly frustrating yes but bit of perspective we're 4th in L1 and still in the play off hunt which is much preferable to fighting for survival in L2 If we had a decent striker like Megginson or dare I say Goodwillie at least half of these draws would be converted into wins and we'd be up there challenging Cove. Not sure I understand our loan policy tho why we developing players from other teams when likes of Biggar and Gillies not getting a look in? The only loan player I'd try and sign up would be Conor Smith but assume he'll be heading back to Hearts?
  10. I don't think Moore for Doyle was a defensive move but agree that subs didn't help. I actually thought Thomson was coming onto a game when he was hooked and Reid was disappointing in his place gave the ball away cheaply a couple of times
  11. Each to their own we all pay our money and not my style either if I've got nothing positive to shout ill keep my frustrations to myself. I struggle to understand how shouting abuse at individual players helps regardless of how much they're under performing or paid. Our player of the month was even getting stick FFS [emoji17]I thought the guys concerned were particularly vocal on Tues - midweek beers prob a factor. There's obviously a balance no-one wants morgue like Hampden non atmosphere but I assume the club is trying to create an atmosphere where young players develop and not be afraid of making mistakes. Language was pretty choice too I'm not naive and have been to plenty of junior games and heard worse but not exactly family friendly when we're trying to build our supporter base and invite schools and community groups to games.
  12. Agree with this Longstaff definitely showing signs of improvement. Along with Thomson and Mchugh he gets pelters from the football manager experts standing in our home end so pleasing that all 3 involved in last night's winner [emoji122]
  13. Looking like zero activity in the window unless there are late moves on Monday? Which would suggest rest of season for director of football and new manager to assess playing staff. If that's the case finish 4th at best and big push for promotion nxt season? Glass half full it hasn't done Cove any harm...
  14. I've made my point and we beg to differ on Liam Brown. Thoughts on whether abuse aimed at young developing players like Longstaff and Jack Thompson is productive?
  15. must have been watching a different game. Thought he had a better game than Luca Connell. Our problem is not in midfield... I'm as disappointed as anyone at repeated failure to put opposition away but some cringey shouts today from the away end 'DO SOMETHING' a personal favourite! And the guy who yelled f**k off Longstaff and then clapped him off the park might be better howling at the livestream every week [emoji2962]
  16. Can't grudge Airdrie the win great strike but better 2nd half from QP and big positive was Quitongo's performance Decent stream and knowledgeable and balanced commentary which I wasn't really expecting tbh [emoji28] ps Heraghty not a bad 3rd choice keeper didn't let us down
  17. Don't think many of us would have picked that starting X1 so fair play to the head coach [emoji106] although most of us would have had Fox back in the team weeks ago [emoji849] A lot more energy all over the park and plenty of MoM candidates Early goal made a massive difference and gave our midfield playmakers space that they've not enjoyed against other opponents who've been content to sit with men behind the ball at Firhill Thought Connor Smith probably had his best game for us and much maligned Jack Thomson came in and did all that was asked of him Thought Bob McHugh was great again what a transformation although I bet he wishes he could play against Hall & Lemon every week!
  18. Interesting listen but not sure you'll like some of the phraseology!
  19. My bad Hybrid of Ray McKinnon and Laurie Ellis so maybe not [emoji849]
  20. This popped up on my twitter timeline today So altho yesterday was our highest home gate this season? 800 + Significantly down on 1980
  21. Stats as we know can mask a lot of things 1 loss in 14 league games being a good example! Highlights make it look a better performance than it felt at the game but we still created more than enough chances to win Fair play to Clyde defence vital blocks and 3 decent Parry saves from Longstaff Brown and Longridge. And a shoutout for much maligned Kilday's clearance to deny Goodwillie with the last kick of the ball [emoji122]
  22. I suspect I'm the minority but don't think Ray Ellis goes from inspired appointment to complete dud in the space of a couple of months [emoji848] I'm not singing his praises but he's made changes in recent weeks that many have been calling out for dropping Muir and Thompson and giving Longstaff a start today along with Connell and Brown in midfield Apart from Fox for Kilday not sure what other changes would have made us stronger today? Without Simon Murray or Quitongo up front we've no pace or threat in behind and so makes it much easier for teams to set up and frustrate us Only positive today was clean sheet (grasping at straws) and comedy gold penalty from Goodwillie Incidentally why were water sprinklers on at HT when pitch was already slippy?!
