Surely he can make it back - Airdrie is not that far. Anyone got McGowan's stats for league games this season to hand. I feel we play much better with him in the side and could do with him for the Tayside derby this weekend

We have Stewart on one wing and Harkins or Harris on other (my preference is Harkins). Nobody else gives quality in that position. Irreplaceable, yes, but our best option at moment and think he's got a good couple of seasons in him

Great that top 6 is confirmed, surpassing my prediction of 7/8th (Motherwell's demise and maybe one of the other teams near the bottom last year to put in a good run). Huge achievement for Hartley and this against a backdrop of a pretty poor season injury wise.

Would have agreed with you up until yesterday. Kevin showed what a player he should be regularly rather than the gash he has been most of this season so far. He is tied down for another season anyway and we are not short of midfield options. As earlier poster said we have far more pressing issues - Loy will help address one and a new LB is another. Personally I think we need a really dominant in the air centre half and we will be ready for next season

With our next game not till the 23rd will there be anyone likely still to be recovering from injury or could we have a full squad for once?

We play on 23rd - internationals are from Friday, with Scotland playing on Sunday - don't know rules but is 24th not possible?

If SPFL bods had any sense we would keep our game on the 18th and have Celts Dabs replay on the 24th March. Our game could effect top 6 and not sure when they could play it before cut off date for splitting league otherwise. Also would get away from having them playing each other 4 times in a row

Effectively our "real" issue was the £214k current liability at end of May. That is negligible in the scheme of things. Now safely in premier league and while none of us know what the result for this year will be I for one am not panicking.

Been wondering if we should recall Beni, if we can, given our defensive injury list. Thought he needed a lot of first team experience that we could not guarantee but thought he could be fine

Don't think the McPake contract extension makes sense at this stage. I would have thought we would discuss early next season rather than now

Agree that McGovern has been key in the upturn - my player of the year so far. And while McPake's performances have dropped of late (I think he was most responsible for the goal lost at the weekend for example) I would play him alongside Davo as our best pairing. Not saying Davo is our best defensively but he brings an aggressive attacking quality which we miss when he doesn't play.

Hopefully we will see. His record against poorer sides is good but maybe the Dees would have done better still if he had played more. In the two games he has played against St.Mirren we have won, in the game he didn't play we lost. We have also lost to the likes of Ross Co. and Hamilton when he has not played so it is not as if we always win against the "poorer" sides.

Thought McPake was excellent beginning of season but his performances have faded quite badly - hopefully a temporary blip. Davo does make quite a few mistakes but he certainly brings a more attacking threat to the team by being willing, and able, to win the ball in the middle of the park when he is a centre back, particularly from opposition keepers kick outs. Overall his passing is pretty reasonable too. I would keep playing him as a centre half and allow a more attacking midfield - I still haven't seen what Thomson brings to the team above McAlister, McGowan, Stewart, Harkins and Harris (or Wighton) - my current preferred midfield 5.

Not sure why we want him anyway. Wouldn't we be better developing Wighton and Carreiro than spending money we could save for next season? Has anyone any idea how much a couple of places up the league is worth financially this season? - could be the reason. Think I would rather be bottom 6 and give the youngsters better games to develop in but the money might be useful.

Can see McAlister being kept. Think Bain should be given the No.1 jersey and though I like Letheren he should be aiming for 1st team football. The others don't strike me as players that will help us achieve top 6. Agree to release Roberts while we're at it

Agreed. Time to drop Clarkson from the starting berth. Overall the team played better today (yes I know the score) than for a while but we had no holding or movement up front. Far from convinced Tank is the long term answer but at least he puts in a shift
