  1. Did you have to buy it to listen to it? I'm wondering if it's worth even 79p?
  2. United's cup final preparations continued today with a group hypnotherapy session. A spokesman for the club said "given the fact that our best performances this season have been against Motherwell, and our worst displays have been against St Johnstone, we felt that it was crucial to make sure the lads were in the right frame of mind for the upcoming Cup Final, so we decided that a hypnotherapist could help out. So when the boys run out, they'll believe they're playing Motherwell. So now the cup's in the bag, we're off down the pub"
  3. I don't feel any of the dread I felt before the semi - The fear that Rangers might beat us if we played as shite as we have several times this season. I'm really looking forward to the Final. It's wide open. One minute I feel Saints will win given that they really have the measure of us this season and have pumped us twice and won a third game. Our worst performances this season have been against Saints and a lot of that is because they stopped United playing. The next minute, I'm confident that we can beat anybody on the day, and that the slick, professional United will turn up for the occasion. Either way, I'm going to enjoy it. Obviously I'll be gutted if United lose, but in all honesty, I'd be happy to see St Johnstone win. It would be great for Perth, and one in the eye for all these crowd wankers who bleat about our wee fan bases. I think the atmosphere in Glasgow will be great, much like the 2010 final against Ross County. No trouble, no animosity, just a bunch of football fans having a bloody good day. Despite all that though......... MON THE SHED!!!!
  4. Somebody wrote on Facebook earlier that they had bought tickets for 2 adults and 3 kids at £35 each, but took them back this morning and exchanged them for the latest concession tickets (the £28/£10 ones, not the restricted view £25 ones). I'm kinda surprised they were allowed to do that, but good on them.
  5. I hadn't realised that St Johnstone had, in fact, had a minute's applause in their next match. The Marly pointed this out to me. I'm really disappointed that United haven't done anything - I think that's pretty poor. I think though that it's going to both clubs as its a request to put something in the matchday programme, so might need the backing of both clubs?
  6. A minute's applause HASN'T been suggested for the final. Not by me, not by the person who started the appeal, and not by anyone else that I can see either. You actually quoted the sentence that said a piece in the match-day programme would be fitting. Did you just stop reading after that and decide in your own mind that a minute's applause was being suggested? No, I haven't approached the clubs involved. I've no idea whether the woman who started this appeal has. The way I see it, she is garnering support so that when she does take it to the clubs, they see it's a reasonable amount of people who would like to see something rather than just one person. Seems sensible to me. Just because it says "petition", that doesn't mean it's some sort of militant demand which, if not agreed to, will be punishable by a boycott of the Final for Christ sake!
  7. I've no idea how they would go about it. It's just an appeal to both clubs to take the opportunity to commemorate his life, and his contribution to both clubs. I agree a minute's applause probably isn't appropriate given that by the time the cup final rolls around, 4 months will have passed since his death. The petition didn't mention having a minute's applause though, other than to say that had been what was originally planned. It asks for a piece to be written and included in the cup final programme. Is it wrong or "bizarre" that people want to show their appreciation of a man who was a great ambassador for our clubs?
  8. There's a petition online which will be sent to Dundee United and St Johnstone football clubs. It's to ask that there should be some form of recognition for Ian Redford, who played for both clubs, and who died in January. There had been a minute's applause scheduled for the match between these two teams at the end of January, but if was called off due to adverse weather, so Neither United fans nor Saints fans have had the chance to show their appreciation of this fantastic player. The petition is on change.org http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/dundee-united-st-johnstone-fc-a-tribute-to-ian-redford-at-the-scottish-cup-final?recruiter=90077529&utm_campaign=twitter_link_action_box&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=share_petition
