When and in what form next season actually happens is obviously the bigger question but I find a bit of transfer speculation a nice break from all coronavirus all the time.

Powers will need to up his game significantly if he’s to play any part.
More importantly someone needs to tell Neilson he can’t play Butcher and Powers in the same team.
I think there will be a place for either or in the team next year and, personally, I still think Powers will eventually prove to be a better option. If they 2 end up being out first choice midfield though we'll struggle.

Semi optimistic we'll hang on to Shankland for whenever next season gets going although if not he'll obviously need replaced. We need a first choice full back, centre half, centre mid and a winger / creative type. Preferably the focus is heavily on quality over quantity, I think a handful of decent players should comfortably be able to carry the likes of Smith, Robson, Connolly, Powers, Butcher, McMullan etc. to a 7th - 9th sort of finish then looking to build on that in following years. Ashgar & Neilson getting carried away trying to sign 11 players and qualify for Europe in our first season back would definitely be a concern for me.

This season has almost felt worse than the last three, where we had the excitement and expectation of, as a long shot, getting promoted via play-offs. In those scenarios, fans hardly thought of what the top league may have held for United.
Neilson being in charge makes the prospect of promotion depressing.
Ken the last couple of months have been pretty shite but mon now.

Can't wait for this season to be over.

Hopefully a better balance in midfield with just one of Powers/Butcher in there. I thought Pawlett started quite brightly in a centre mid role last week as well so I have at least some hope of a performance from him.

Thought we were quite good for the first half hour, really should have been more than 1 up. Got a bit bogged down after the equaliser but a lovely goal from Shankland to win it. Bingham had a decent game, good vision for both assists.

Jury still out on Powers but I'm less hopeful than I was a couple of weeks ago. Harkes isn't good enough and, much as I like him, I don't think Butcher is either. I hope Ashgar has a busy summer planned.

Nut.
I'm watching a game that both teams are trying to win and I'm enjoying it.

Both teams looking quite sharp going forward. We're edging it but Alloa look dangerous when they get forward. No bad game.

First game was Paul Sturrock testimonial against Real Sociedad in August 1989. I was 4 and remember f**k all about it other than getting plonked on the wall at the front and Sociedad having green shirts, but Luggy is my old mans all time favourite Utd player so glad I can say I got to see him play in the flesh
We won 1-0 with an og fwiw.

Positive spin here is, we'll win the league anyway and it's good that Neilson and Ashgar get to see that a lot of these players aren't up to it.

We look a bit lacking in wide players. Also, if I was Watson I'd be pretty pissed off right now.

We're on about selling him to a league where Martyn Waghorn went for fuckin £9 million or something. The transfer bubble in England is mental and I don't see any reason we wouldn't be holding out for silly money for a young, in demand Scotland international with 2 years left on his contract.

I agree with everyone who thinks Shankland isn't good enough to play for a bigger club than Utd. He should stay here forever.

Hearts were good and, more importantly for them, looked right up for it. Enjoyed that. Defoe is pish.

That was good.
Aribo fucking up the kick off lol.

Deserved equaliser for Hearts. Boyce and Naismith the makings of a decent front line.

First half was a no bad game but this 2nd half has been honking.

Last time Morton came to Tannadice they were a shambles and took 6, yesterday they got a point and were a kick in the arse off getting all 3. Aye it's frustrating seeing a keeper start time wasting in the 3rd minute and a team spend most of the game with 11 men within 30 yards of their own goal but for them it's job done and given we've been happy to engage in a bit of time wasting when it's suited us it's a fuckin' brass neck bumping our gums about it now.
For Utd, I thought we slowed the game down too often when we looked to have got into decent positions and made an affy lot of wrong decisions in the final third. Might also turn out we were a bit unlucky with the disallowed goal and a couple of the penalty shouts. Still, kept plugging away got the equaliser and extended our lead at the top. Happy to forget that afternoon and move on.

Tbh what I remember of the little I saw of him I didn't think he was good enough to make it at Utd let alone down there so no all that surprised to see him dropping down a good few levels.

All pretty good so far apart from Aberdeen home, which is honking. Killie ruined a bit by the sponsor.
Macron, in general, been doing a really good job with their kits for Scottish clubs.
