The SPFL lead them up the garden path on the face of it. Told the club to ask for derogations as recently as Tuesday, they did and these were granted with the final one to be confirmed in two weeks, the SPFL then went back and pointed to 31st March.
The SPFL also implied in their statement that the club were ignoring them, clearly that wasn't true.
We then have Airdrie taking part in the Premiership play-off with an Entry level licence, when they should have had a Bronze licence in place last year. So they do not meet the requirements either.
There's a lot going on here that doesn't add up and doesn't paint the SPFL in a very good light.
This has to be a massive wake up call to those SPFL Clubs who don’t have a bronze licence and have one year to get it.
If they don’t and on the back of todays decision, those Clubs face being chucked out the SPFL at end of next season ?

I can't start an argument if you want. Post something libellous about b teams or league cups or something.
More seriously here is something for yourselves and the other ex-SPFL clubs to mull over.
What, for you, are the reason or reasons the Ex-SPFL clubs have struggled, for want of a better word, in the hallowed environment that is the Lowland League.
I'll start; finances but is it that alone?
The Club put something out recently that income is now about 100k down after SPFL so even parachute payments doesn’t really fill that gap.
I’d like to see any business lose that amount and then immediately bounce back tho I think it will happen eventually. Clubs have to reorganise which takes time.

Not necessarily. It depends entirely on the old pals act. Cowdenbeath got in last year without merit. It is shameful that it isn't clear at a season's end.
Already sorted, Cowden are again invited into the Viaplay Cup and in addition. The Europa Conference. Can’t wait !

Big day for Gretna or Edinburgh University.
And Buckie, Brechin and Fraserburgh. The HL always seems to deliver a great finale.

We shouldn't schedule any league or Scottish cup games midweek. There are 40 Saturdays between 27 July and the end of April '25.
Berwick played at least 4 league games midweek before the leaves fell off the trees, and have had several free Saturdays recently. After filling up those free weeks where possible, use midweek for minor cups, replays and postponements.
Cramming in games early leads to injuries and does nothing for cash flow.
Cowdenbeath had 8 scheduled Lowland League midweek fixtures this season, even before postponements kicked in. I assume other teams would have similar.
League games should be played on Saturdays and punt all these cup games into midweek.1 -

Would have had good money on you being first in the bait. Would have been very short odds though.
Just showing off my knowledge of the rules unlike EK who regularly ignore them. !

They have failed in play offs before, as im sure you know. (Still stings)
Ek will go again. Im not sure if mk would be there for a 2nd go at it right enough.
All guess work though and hopefully club can get over the line this time and push on.
My worry is we might still be a bit light this year. Thankfully the pre play off window should allow us to get another couple in before first leg.
Mon the kilby!
There is no pre play off window

Be interesting to see how MK handles this now in his attempt to follow Calum Elliot into the SPFL.
Resting players now that the league is won is tempting but then they have to come back and play in high intensity games and it’s not easy to do that.

I'll be glad to see the back of this season, promised so much at the start.
The team has underperformed no doubt. However will probably be a 5 place improvement and I think 10 points more at this point.
Same again next season would be big step forward. Wont be easy as a few Clubs will continue to outspend us.0 -

Mick Kennedy and Si Ferry were both in attendance at the Clyde v Stranraer match today. They must be laughing at how wasteful we are and how bad Stranraer are.
That must have been a thrill for everyone

Forgot to say ref was hopeless as well.
For the last goal, it looked like he put our wall back 15 yards !

Bad day for us but what about Darren Dods ?
Ive never seen a member of any Clubs staff at any level run from the dugout into the crowd to hide from the Ref. Hilarious to see him called down like a wee schoolboy for his red card.

Hard to believe the wind was worse in Edinburgh than the rest of Scotland ? Seems a bit of an over reaction !
At Broadwood on the Astro the ball wouldn’t stay still so players were holding it for free kicks etc.

The centre half’s looked at sea all game and got away with it first half but were ripped to pieces in the second half.
Healy should have equalised at 3-2 but elected to try and burst the net instead of passing it into it.
Bad day at the office and Stevie Crawford would not have believed that was the same players from last week.
Only bright spot was to see the Colts Asst Darren Dodds berate the Lino then run into the crowd to try and hide from the Ref who called him back down and red carded him. He is an absolute dick but very funny to see him get his comeuppance at last.

And you're a grown man taking to a parochial football forum to complain about a guy that manages a club in the Lowland League
He has a platform as a EK Club Representative and is using it to disrespect another Club.
Im a fan who is using a forum to express my view which is generally what forums are for ?

Aye because if your own teams game was called off for a waterlogged pitch then you heard the team were training on it you'd not ask any questions? If you're going to hate on the guy, be it for something tangible.
all i can say is poor groundstaff.
Why tweet about it ? Lots of things happen in football that other’s dont like, Maybe explains the previous posts about why people don’t like MK.

Success.
EK have won the league before and when they played Cowden, they seemed to be the darlings of the media and other Lowland League fans.
Only difference now is that your management team is regarded as arrogant and with an attitude that gets up everyone’s nose. Add some rumours that they have dodgy friends with cash to burn.
Isn’t working for MK personally at the moment as guys like Calum Elliot get gigs in the SPFL while MK has to negotiate the play off roulette wheel

Game off
Looks like the hoses have been out again as no one wants the two biggest egos in Scotland dancing on their pitch.

Good result !
Well done to Stevie and the lads

I have it on good authority the Buckie decision by the SPFL is the precursor for Edin City, Bonnyrigg & Spartans to be turfed out for various rule breaches and will be replaced by Albion Rovers, Cowdenbeath and Berwick Rangers.
