  1. You must be thinking of a different shirt pull. Ayunga was absolutely heading towards goal. But - a clear shirt pull to stop an attack even further away from goal almost always leads to a yellow card. Indeed Boyd Munce got booked for a tug on a Hearts player in the Hearts half. Ref played advantage, and booked him later. Double standards.
  2. Two things - he first booked TAYLOR for that challenge. 15 minutes later Halkett did an even clearer shirt pull on Ayunga. Ref played advantage, then gave a foul after a second foul on Ayunga. No card.
  3. Gogic? The guy that got booked after 15 seconds. That Gogic? Ah! Okay, got you now, Shankland had it from the start of the game. Makes sense now. Had to be something like that.
  4. We’re really missing Strain. At the start of the season he was in great form and his deliveries were really dangerous. For about 4 weeks (after being away with Australia) he was playing like he was carrying an injury. And then after last international trip he picked up an injury that’s needed an op and is expected to be out for 4 months. We need to shift a couple of the striker wages and try to get someone in in January that can play there. Small tries hard, and has some talent, but he’s so left footed we can’t really expect him to do what Strain did as RWB.
  5. Some decent play from Ayunga at times, but telling that our two biggest chances came from defenders.
  6. That was a really weird one. How can he mix up Taylor for Gogic - one's a skinhead, the other is 4 inches taller with afro hair - they're not even the same colour.
  7. Don't think Saints played that badly, with the first goal being a defensive howler and the second a worldy from Shankland. Having said that, we then almost gifted Hearts 2 late goals with more awful defensive errors. Saints just don't seem to score these days though, and that is a huge worry.
  8. Would have been a red for Saints if we'd done the Halkett challenge. Halkett escaped a stick on yellow for a jersey tug on Aynunga in first half. Walsh refereering like a guy who chopped of 3 Saints goals last time these teams played.
  9. Angry Atkinson at last gets a yellow - then pushes Tanser in the chest while the ref is talking to him. His rage earlier about not being allowed to get away a two handed push on a Saints player in the box was bizarre.
  10. Is Shankland unbookable? Almost every game he should get at least one yellow for dissent. Then there's the dives, the niggly fouls. And then there's elbowing someone in the chest off the ball when you're angry. Tumbleweed.
  11. Look where O’Donnel is when the ball is coming back to O’Hara. Actually ahead of him. VAR I take it made the (bad) discretionary call.
  12. If it had effected the shooting player’s ability to finish the rebound would that result in a retake?
  13. Now now. We cant honestly expect such close calls to be picked up by VAR - especially when playing an ‘establishment’ club
  14. Was it him that made the comical complaint for a back pass when Gogic miss hit the ball 20 feet in the air and Hemming caught it? Was then right in the referees face at the next break in play too.
  15. Ref fell for plenty Well dives, if he falls for that one too then it’s a penalty and almost certainly a red card. So a good chance of a goal AND Saints down to 10.
  16. Would have been interesting to see what that would have been like if you’re been relegated those times you finished in the relegation zone. You may have come straight back up, but even a few years in the lower division would have had consequences other than top level points.
  17. Did a lot of blatant diving but the one on the edge of the box in the fist half should have had the ref stopping the game and bringing out a yellow. He didn’t though and so player kept at it for the rest of the game. Some players try it on, and it ref lets them away with it hardly a surprise when they keep doing it.
  18. Can’t remember a game where there were so many clear dives, and so much blatant dissent towards a referee, and for it all to go unpunished. How many warnings did Kelly get? Wonder if the ref being so weak early on led to the Well players just deciding to rip the pish?
  19. Very very strange game. I thought Saints played very well in spots, with Kiltie, Baccus and Small all excellent. And yet after missing the penalty we someone contirived to gift Well four clear cut chances. So a draw fair, but if we’d scored from the spot I feel we’d have been more likely to get a second than lose an equaliser. Having said that Well very good at getting late equalisers.
  20. And two more cynical fouls - just warnings. Absolutely standard yellow cards every day of the week. Well’s 24 must have done half a dozen dives. Instead of a yellow or even a warning half have been given as fouls! Almost worse refereeing than last week’s donkeys.
  21. He was fabulous with us! Got a feeling though he had 3 red cards for us in 6 months - about the same as in the previous decade with Celtic !
