Fair enough, I wasn't really aware of that so not unique. Although I was talking mainly about my lifetime which began after that.

Sorry man, read that back this morning and it reads like a criticism of your post - also wasn’t born, what I meant was that I’d be interested if anyone knew why we went all white because I also don’t know!

Of all the 42 spfl clubs, you have us, Airdrie and Celtic that have unique kits. If you want to go globally, you can take Celtic out of the equation.

I’m not sure it was unique, at the same time Dundee Utd, Raith, Stirling Albion & a couple other teams had white with 2 bands across the chest. Also noticed Partick Thistle & East Fife dropped the stripes and played in all yellow for a few years. I wonder if it was more to do with manufacturers available at the time and it’s just that ours coincidently happened at a successful time so became a “classic” design?

  3. Obviously art is subjective & there's no right answer ... and forgive the rudimentary quick Photoshopping

I don't believe moving the sponsor below the band is effective. Putting it in the band and putting in white is the most hidden within the design. We've also had sponsors that moved down into the belly area before (Bet Butler on the Surridge top) that I think looks horrendous.

Good to see black and gold return to the second strip. Not so sure about the sponsors logo over the black and gold band

That’s what I like about it. I think it’s great to see a sponsor integrated into the kit in a thoughtful way sensitive to the overall design rather than just a logo splattered on below it.

  5. Not just related to this but all these club statements that now, for some reason, have to be a jpg that is almost always formatted badly, miniscule margins, illegible fonts, tiny, awful contrast, barely readable on mobile.

Im begging just one club to put some thought into the readability & accessibility of what they’re putting out!

it seems like there’s nothing more to it than “it’s the done thing” but the reason it’s that is so that your corporate apology isn’t searchable after the drama dies down.

We're you at the game about 15 years ago when we got told off at Stenny for being too rowdy? It was unnerving the youthful Stenny side.

God that game haunts me! We were giving it to their winger bad, could tell we were getting under his skin badly so ramped it up a bit - in boisterous good fun - and someone came over and said he was 15.

There was also a league game at Stenny where we started chanting “number 3 KFC” to the point the guy got subbed off. Was much fitter and trimmer than most of us 🫣

  7. Is anyone planning on going to the club shop this morning for this sale? There’s a couple home tops I never got round to picking up in the last few years but I’m not off for the bank holiday so would need to scramble in on my lunch!

I'm sure there were highlights but I can't find them. That would've been when @GoTeamGaz was doing them. I think they've sadly disappeared.

I was thinking about that the other day - all the files were stored on the site but presumably on an old laptop or hard drive I must have about 150 final rendered files. I stuck the ones that were not technically copyright of the SFL on to YouTube at some point.

edit: I’m pretty sure the ones on YouTube include me asking Gareth Southgate what Sons players caught his eye. 🤣

Anyone else hate the fact that we don’t have white shorts?

There are white ones but they are alternative. FIFA put it in their rules in 2013 that national teams should have one all dark and one all light kit.

when we play Germany they’ll be in all white and we’ll be in all blue 🤮

  10. Mine just arrived in the post … in a big cardboard box for some reason.

Seeing it person I actually really like it. The yellow isn’t as offensive as it looks in the promo shots imo.

    I am 40 years old. 🤪

What's with the apparent random patterns on the front of the home shirt?

The one McTominay is wearing in the promo shoot is completely different from the one someone posted earlier in the thread from a JD airport shop

It’s meant to be stylised tartan squares at various zoomed in levels, I assumed.

The conference league proposition is mental. I genuinely can’t see the benefit to anyone (barring the big ugly sisters) and can’t believe any spfl club from championship down would vote in favour of this! No amount of money would make that and attractive proposition and I’d be hoping DFC would be laying their cards on the table and publicly voicing their opposition.

I said in another thread, it seems to me that club owners have learned from 2012 that you don’t make any announcements during season ticket renewal period, absolute blanket silence from all but a few clubs until the money is in their hands before you hear anything from anyone.

The above excerpt sounds an alarm to me that it's more important than ever we get to the bottom of the "Golden" C share applicability question. With rodents lurking, we need reasonable certainty that a parcel of land cannot become the entire site.

Was it not uncovered during the first load of Young’s Farm planning that the golden share was not a thing, or not legally enforceable or something?

Until clubs start stating their position there's not much to say. Fans are wholeheartedly against this outside of a OF fans and few absolute weirdos, so this thread will be fairly quiet until clubs say something.

I’d quietly suggest that chairmen learned from the Rangers debacle and are holding a line of silence til after season ticket renewals go through, then announcing it.
