  1. The parcours is pretty flat, on the whole, and despite a couple of hilly stages towards the back end, I don't think its one that can whittle out the bigger riders, so I've stuck a couple of quid on Tom Dumoulin. The fact there's 3 ITTs (despite one being uphill) only confirms my feeling that this isn't a race that needs to be won in the mountains.

His only competition is really Nibali and Valverde.

Hopefully the race lives up to billing.

  2. Some amount of asthmatics in the pro-peleton.

Bit like all those top Russian and Eastern European athletes with heart problems.

1 in 10 baseball players have been "diagnosed" with ADHD.

It's the same in all sports; why risk a ban when you can just get a TUE.

  3. Went for a Retul bike fit last week. A bit pricey, but it was highly recomended and I enjoyed the experience.

They put my saddle up an inch and forward an inch. Only been out once since, so too early to assess if I'm quicker, but I'll see how it goes the next few weeks.

    At Velocity44?

Give it a good few hundred miles before you decide whether it's worked out.

After I had mine done, I wasn't sure if there had been an improvement and wondered whether I'd wasted my money. Once my legs got used to the new position, though, there was a massive difference in power output and comfort on the bike.
