  1. The memory I have from that game was the Griffith goal... That was Senfuckingsational!!! I can still see McGovern diving across the goal. I still shake my head thinking about it much like the ICT winner at Hampden... Jamie McDonald = w****r. How I wished McGovern had played in goal that day[emoji35]
  2. Am I correct in thinking that planning work on the stadium began when the official ground capacity for entry to SPL at the time was 10000?
  3. What a pish post to put on a football forum!!!
  4. To be fair the goal was unsavable. The ball exploded into the net, a truly phenomenal goal!
  5. I've been reading all the texts about Austin and I can appreciate some of the comments in a really strange way. He looks awkward and as if he runs in slow motion and I could not believe how easily he glided through the DU defence repeatedly, I also felt that he went down rather easily for the penalty when he seemed to have the momentum to round the keeper and put the ball into the empty net, good job Aero was spot on with a cool clinical penalty - maybe we have a reliable penalty taker Great performance will Lee Miller the best man on the park for me just shading it from Tom Taiwo who got MOTM and was just a terrier all over the park. Special mention to James Craigen who I thought had another really good afternoon, get to see him get on the scoresheet - there is defo a player in there. Let's hope we can get three points next week as we cannot play worse than last time down there. Houston appears to have pulled a rabbit out of the hat and got us back fighting and more importantly believing again, he deserves huge credit for this. He has obviously great belief in his team, that many of us, myself included didn't have in him... So big well done[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] What the hell do I know about football? Sweet feck all I fear[emoji12]
  6. I've read a load of poor comments and feedback regarding Joe McKee on here, let's give the guy a chance to see what he can do. He's not even kicked a ball for us yet. Think back to players like Mark Millar who played for Morton also, struggled, came on to a game with us, signed by DU and couldn't kick his own arse up there, came back to us and changed our season and was fantastic. Who knows, this guy may just fit the bill and gel with Sibbald, Hippolyte and Aird. Think it's important to give the guy half a chance, maybe come May we'll be hoping to sign him!!! Come on ye Bairns
  7. Got to agree with this, it was as if the cup was unimportant. A ridiculous team selection for such an important game
  8. Better performance today, good to see Leahy back at LB, thought the team had a more familiar look and seemed to have a wee bit more fight and spirit about them. Nice touch by Loy, never really celebrated his goal, came over and applauded the Falkirk fans and gave each of our players a good friendly hug at the final whistle Would have been a nice addition to our squad for the run in but not to be. Fair play to Houston after last week's demise, was man enough to reinstate the players that were frozen out last week
  9. That would be an interesting question. Who would be Houston's top 3 effective signings since he arrived? Kerr? Taiwo? Miller? That is such a difficult question, finding 3 is difficult in itself [emoji23]
  10. I know what you are saying and I understand however, there is no guarantee that both will go up, Hibs yes but DU? I don't see it, look what Ross County done last week in the cup? So if they don't go up, are you advocating that we needn't bother turning up and buying ST's next season? How long can we feed this line to the fans? I think we'll see a huge downturn in ST sales for next season unless there is real change at the club I won't be holding my breath
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if St Mirren turn us over tomorrow as their confidence must be beginning to build after their great result last week in the cup. Whether a defeat would force change I'm not sure I suppose it depends on the manner of how we fold. Last week I could feel a huge change in the supporters attitude towards Houston and I'm beginning to feel they are baying for blood. How long can he continue as a lost manager where it appears the BOD have lost faith. Although I've been one of the Boards critics for not spending the cash. I'm afraid I agree with them in terms of funding more players as we already have plenty. They are correct imo to tell the manager to sort it out. He's has wasted enough cash with a ridiculous number of first team players. One things for sure, St Mirren will never get a better chance to get 3 points against us, hopefully not!
  12. That old chestnut? Not another season of waiting until the opposition is weaker FFS. Truth is they'll always be teams bigger and better or chairmen willing to put their hand in their pockets speculating to accumulate. Even if Hamilton, Ross County, ICT or Partick Thistle were to come down we'd still say let's wait till their out the league as their too big to compete again with their premier players and budgets blah blah I'm not wearing anymore of this nonsense... Let's do the decent thing for the fans, let's spend some decent money and let's have an honest attempt to win promotion instead of taking the cheap option and trying to slip through the back door. We've spouted this type of sh*t for much to long
  13. No chance of any fourth stand being built this year as we are hosting MADNESS at the Stadium on the 4th August... I think that will generate a decent crowd and hopefully earn the club some revenue - Let's face it, we love to earn the cash but we are never in a hurry to spend it.[emoji3] This is definitely one step beyond!
  14. A shower of charlatans honestly. I'd be surprised if they are any plans for a fourth stand, the same as there are no real ambitions to get into the premier league How long can this club pull the wool over the supporters eyes?
  15. Can understand what you're saying but if you think Houston has 'scouted' this player, I would be surprised. It's more like an agent has tapped him on the shoulder and said "here's a player looking for a club" I'm afraid this scepticism from me he has brought on to himself!
  16. Holt had a better opportunity as the teams in the league were lower profile and promotion should have been easier but in reality I'm pretty sure if we'd gained promotion at that time we would surely been relegated the following season as financially we were not equipped to stay in the top league, also I don't think the BOD's would have endorsed the spending levels required. Having said all this, my opinion is that Holt did not do as bad as many on here would have you believe.
  17. Yes. He should be punted, his activities identifying new players is shameful and most of the players he had brought to the club have been questionable at best. To think he was a scout for Celtic, it doesn't appear as if he explored the potential there. The thing for me is we are not getting any better and he appears lost and out of his depth. Time to cut him loose I'm afraid, I've been thinking that for a while now. Replacement? Jim Duffy?
  18. Aye. Looks he's consumed more than one! Is there any rumours re new players coming in?
  19. Aye good, usually do every week but cant this week! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  20. Anyone know the best VPN for watching FTV on ipad
  21. The interesting part for me here is it was Rankin who instigated the move. Here was me thinking PH had realised he'd made a mistake signing him, took some radical action in a bid to revive our fortunes on the park...But No! All the best to Join Rankin, what a total waste of a wage over the last 6 months. Houston really does seem lost since he has let go of Levein's coat tails, It was so surprising that he wasn't head hunted by Levein following Neilson's departure. Aye right!!!
  22. Don't think the Board are that interested really, if so, they would have made some changes long before now. In reality, how much money to we stand to make 3rd or 4th. The way we have played this season it would more likely be an extra 2 games Football teams with intentions would not allow their team to languish where we have been and watching what we have witnessed all season on the park. I honestly think the Board are as lost as our manager, like he, they do not know what their doing.
  23. Hey!!! I sit in the MS for goodness sake, was great to see the SPFL introduce that new lightweight ball on Saturday, the 'Jaffa elite' [emoji3] TBF, Mitre or Jaffa, no f**cker was stopping Commons goal on Saturday. Could have put every championship GK along the line and I doubt they would have been able to stop it from bulging the net. What a goal!
