  1. Yes, it certainly didn't feel like there were 1850 people there unless they were very well hidden.
  2. I hope they give some indication if it is going to be on. Even if it isn't officially off, if the club (Inverness) could give their unofficial view it would be very helpful. I'm planning on going and I've got a hotel booked that I can cancel up until 6pm on Friday - after that I lose the money and it wasn't cheap.
  3. I am a bit more optimistic. I think it will be very tight but I definitely see improvements., both on Tuesday and again today. The last time we played Dunfermline we lost 3-0 and were never in the game. Today I think we were unfortunate not to win. Dunfermline are ahead of us on goal difference - so everything to play for. It's going to go to the last game of the season, without a doubt, but I think if we continue to improve we will have a chance of finishing 8th.
  4. Maybe I am delusional but I did think we were improved last night. Even up until the final whistle I thought we might nick an equaliser (and fans' favourite McGinty nearly did with the header from the corner) - in neither of the two games previously against Partick were we even vaguely in the match at half time let alone full time. The team we have aren't capable of playing like the one we had when we played Alloa off the park before McCall left. No manager could get them doing that and if we can work hard and fight to get points for 90 minutes rather than capitulating after 20 minutes that is progress.
  5. I was watching the match on the stream, which was terrible, but from what I could see I did think we were much improved compared to the last two games against Thistle. Ashford looks quick and we contained Thistle for the majority of the game. The team does seem to be working hard at least which is a big change from Duffy's last game in charge. It was hard to tell for sure on the stream but it looked like we were very lucky on at least one occasion not to concede a penalty. The pitch was nearly as bad as the stream which spoiled the game for both teams but I think we'll all want and expect to see more football being played on Saturday.
  6. It's not just in Scottish football that Adeloye has that record of being booked - looking at his time at Barnet and Ebbsfleet his ratio of minutes to bookings was even worse.
  7. I agree that Adeloye has done well to get as many goals as he has given we have played many games effectively without a midfield. Plus his finishing is very good generally (the one on one he missed the other week being the most notable "sitter" I can think of). However, I think you just have to look at his disciplinary record to get an idea of his attitude - he has had 7 yellow cards in the league and although I haven't checked each one, I think the majority will have been for dissent. He constantly moans and whinges in games to the officials. For a forward to get 7 yellow cards is ridiculous - even Baird and McGinty between them only have 4 in the league! He got a similar ratio of cards to minutes played in his previous club too. While he may be frustrated, I expect more discipline from professionals - he is not 12 years old.
  8. Just reading all these posts after work and I actually think I may be dreaming. We manage to bring in a midfielder (who knows what he'll be like), but we also managed to offload dross to a competitor. Chalmers can only make Dunfermline worse if he actually gets game time. If we are also really linked with Dorrans that can also only be an upgrade. If the rest of the week is half as good as today then it's going to be a great one!
  9. It says "subject to a medical" which made me think it is a signing rather than a loan? (But to be fair for all I know it could be standard practice to do medicals for loans too, I just assumed that was not the case).
  10. The harsh reality is that we are in serious danger of being relegated. I think Kilmarnock were weaker when the game was originally due to be played and while I'm clearly not saying we would have got anything from the game I think we would have had more of a chance to get a point. A point could make all the difference come the end of the season.
  11. That's an amazing coincidence - that was also my first game! Despite the scoreline I was very keen to go back and we did do quite well that season....
  12. Did he not come on against Albion Rovers though making him ineligible to play for Hibs tonight?
  13. Really frustrating - the only week I can't make it to Ayr and it's the week that the match isn't going to be streamed. Typical!!
  14. I agree but we did have Bradley against Raith and I think that made a difference in terms of how we approached the game. As everyone has said, we need to improve the midfield so that we can get on the front foot in games.
  15. I agree with all of this. I was at the game and the most disappointing thing for me was that Bullen didn't make changes at half time. After a very bright start, we were contained extremely well by Morton and it didn't get any better in the second half. There was very little support for Adeloye but he is not the person to play that lone striker role in my opinion. I also thought that McKenzie was completely anonymous and I would have replaced him with Moffat at half-time. Will be interesting to see how Bullen reacts.
  16. Completely agree. I actually think it was a great gesture by the club to show how important they view that step up - it was great for that individual and I am sure every Ayr fan hopes he will be massively successful. People are also quick to complain that we don't give people from the academy a chance early enough - we now have someone being given a great opportunity and we should congratulate everyone involved.
  17. Well, Allan Johnston said on Sportsound on Saturday that he was trying to bring in 4 for QoS, so on that basis alone it appears to be fiction.
  18. I presume that we didn't need to agree to Bradley returning to Hibs though.
  19. I hadn't realised that we couldn't end the loan deal in January - I thought with most loans that either side could end it in Jan. Seems a bit odd to have it asymmetrical (i.e. if Celtic could recall him but we can't punt him). I thought we worked hard today but it's clear we need to bring players in since we are down to bare bones.
  20. Exactly. The whole package just comes across as amateur hour. To be fair, the match streams have improved a lot this season in terms of frame rate but this interview just illustrates all the failings in what should be a simple setup (e.g. white balance, sound).
  21. McKenzie normally gives 100% so with the new manager he'll be playing at least 150%. Hat-trick guaranteed.
  22. Yes, I agree. I have tried quite hard to find any negative comments about him online and I came up with nothing. Everyone seems to think he is a good leader and has done what has been asked of him as a coach. Definitely positive to see that we've obviously sought out someone to fit the role and what the board think we need, rather than jumping on the usual Scottish manager merry-go-round. Certainly nobody can say the board have taken the easy or cheap option this time.
  23. It could be that they are aware of midfielder(s) we are looking to bring in, and that they would likely limit his game time and they want him playing more regularly. Trying to look for the positive here!
  24. I agree. I don't think there is any comparison at all between Davidson and Canning. You can at least point to what Davidson has achieved as a manager - it may have gone off the rails this season but you don't become an idiot overnight and it's recoverable for him. Whereas with Canning, I am struggling to find any evidence of anything that could be classed as success, unless your bar is so low that winning a play-off against a Dundee Utd side managed by the also impressive Ray McKinnon is considered a highlight.
