  1. I thought McDougall and Rankine had paid £50,000 for the owners shares - surely that entitled them to have their say on how they were hoping to prevent a League club going out of business.
  2. Perhaps the fact that Livi were not allowed into the meeting to give their side of the story is grounds enough for the appeal to succeed. The sentence was extremely harsh. McDougall certainly pulled off minor miracles to keep Cowden alive for 20 years but this will be some coup if he pulls this one off. However, he is a football man through and through and won't give up the fight to save the club.
  3. You really are letting the bile affect your remaining brain cells.
  4. Massone was history since McDougall and co had purchased his shares and to all intent and purposes McDougall was the new chairman of Livi. His consortium were trying to save one of the League's member clubs from extinction and it would have been fairer to allow him to put forward his case before sentence was passed. Nothing 'outrageous' about that - it's regarded as fair play throughout the civilised world.
  5. McDougall is too much of a shrewd cookie to pay a First Division price for a Third Division club. On purely business reasons he should walk away - but the man loves his football and he may just stay on and build the club up again. After all he pumped stock car money into Cowden for nearly 20 years when he could have so easily let the club die. However, to be refused permission to address the SFL meeting must have been a kick in the teeth and who could blame him for calling it a day.
  6. Perhaps McDougall will buy Cowden back and move them to Livingston. PS I am only joking!
  7. You really are a sad b*****d. What are you going to do with the rest of your miserable life if Livi die?
  8. During McDougalls 20 years at Cowdenbeath no director ever received a penny from the club. On the contrary, many paid an annual fee for the privilege of being a blazer. I think Livi fans will find McDougall's attitude to spending rather refereshing.
  9. What a drama queen! Your share of Livi's tax debt will only be a tiny fraction of a penny - goodness knows what reaction you would have if you lost a 5p down a drain.
  10. Surely the stadium and land are not part of the deal, are they? I think there is still some tough negotiations to be conducted before anyone can say Livi have been saved. Good luck.
  11. McDougall kept Cowden afloat for nearly 20 years so he knows his football. How he managed to pull this off we can only guess but it is still a long way from being finished. Good luck to him and all Livi's genuine fans.
  12. The SFL may be tempted to tip Livi down into the Third Division today, at the same time promoting Airdrie and Cowdenbeath, to give the potential investors every chance of saving the club. I know this would be against their rules but a lot of people are trying to save the club. As far as the creditors are concerned, they appear to be mainly WLC, Massone and the Inland Revenue so no tears shed there if they lose their dosh.
  13. You would have to be crazy to inherit that amount of debt and McDougall is no fool. Its not looking good for you guys.
  14. Start praying that Gordon McDougall has waved his magic wand and saved your club from extinction. He did it for Cowden and will do so for Livi as long as the idiot does not decide to kill the club off.
  15. Good post but I cant see McDougall paying off £500,000 debts accumulated by the jokers who ran them up. But if a deal can be done to his satisfaction you will get a guy who will give you 100 per cent 24/7. There is also the bonus that Danny Lennon will never be your manager
