  1. Yes, would assume compo agreed between both parties. Anyone have an idea as to what value you would traditionally expect? I got the impression the compo for Ian Murray wasn't too bad
  2. Thanks. Bleary eyed morning quoting is never advisable.
  3. Aitken has permission to speak to Raith according to the Sun. Read on BBC Scottish Gossip.
  4. Agree 100%. He's been great for us and would love for him to continue next year.
  5. Did a quick search and there appears to be footage of Dumbarton vs Hibs in a charity football match but not included in the preview on the site - http://movingimage.nls.uk/film/1871/74961169. Anyone ever seen it or know of other historical footage kicking around on the web? Earliest I remember seeing is the highlights on youtube of the game against Aberdeen at Boghead from the 80's.
  6. Likewise. Lots of football to be played and the squad has quality in places. After the Morton game, fans here were calling for wholesale changes, dropping players and bringing in Kirky, Don, Heh etc but in advance of that game we had been doing decently. Level heads required as we are in a good spot in 8th with points up our sleeve. Of course, no margin for massive errors but if you had looked at the fixtures at the start of the season - would you have said at St Mirren away we were likely to pick up points? Livi, Alloa, Raith, Morton (at home) games crucial. Stevie has all my support - no reason to think otherwise. Still Scotland (UK's?) best part-time team as of Feb 2016. Lets make it through till May so we can have another season of Championship football! Edit: brackets
  7. In even more international flavour to our wee club, seems Senegalese right back Amadou Kassarate was playing for our u20's against Clyde. Nothing to shout home about though, young former Welling right back, but certainly entertaining names to read on DFC team sheets!
  8. Yeah, been rumoured for weeks. Always a case of when, not if!
  9. http://www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/planning-building-standards/planning-applications/planning-weekly-list-of-applications/ I assume it will appear on this list retrospectively?
  10. Delighted to have 3 points in the bag today when it really was a crucial fixture! Just reviewing the table, if we were lucky enough and pulled out wins in our next two against St Mirren and Livi, we would actually be on track for the "10 points per quarter" target that has seen us comfortable in previous seasons in this league. That's asking a lot of course but fingers crossed
  11. Docherty has shown himself to be a poor player 1/3 into the season. Dreadful decision making and looks at times like the championship is a level above him. Wee Donald isn't the answer obviously but I at least appreciate the dig and endeavour you get from him. Wants desperately to succeed in a Dumbarton shirt
  12. Adamson was dumped swiftly by Gilbert et al. Will Aitken receive more time? QOTS and Rangers away over next two games is comfortably zero points. If we don't get points when we need them most we will be looking at League 1 in 2016. I'm sure they will stick with him but what is the straw that will break the back?
  13. Steven Craig injury: actually injured or pissed that he was (rightly) dropped for, as aptly described earlier, "standing around like a big fanny"?
  14. Surely not... Hacksaw scoring two? Don't think he even had two attempts on goal for us
  15. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/st-mirren-sign-former-son-agnew.130068346 Aggy move to St Mirren now confirmed today. Good lad, hope it all works out for him and that he scores mysterious own goals at the Rock.
  16. My guess would be loan signings after the season has kicked off in August for additional depth. Player availability for loan signings I would assume won't be known until some of the top division sides get back together for pre-season and assess their squads.
  17. Wow, Murray's St Mirren at home for the penultimate game and then Alloa away to close out the season. Could be massive fixtures for us come the end of the season!
  18. Happy with Docherty signing, I'm sure he will be a useful addition. So Stephen Dobbie is a free agent. He could do with getting his career back on track again...
  19. Great read, thank you. Very detailed and lots of memories - good and bad!
  20. Here's hoping the Hacksaw will do a job for us, we certainly needed the additional striker. Hoooo!
