  1. £250k (if true) is an appalling fee considering how important he was.
  2. It was our first season back in the premier league, we finished 3rd and qualified for europe. Every Hearts fan would have accepted this outcome a year ago despite some of the weapons on here suggesting otherwise. We lost one of our best players in january, our main focal point upfront and didn't adequately replace him. We need a bit of perspective here. Yes the football in the second half of the season wasn't great, it was brutal at times but we are not the finished article, the management team want to strengthen, we've young players who will hopefully improve and with the whole ethos of the club changing for the better, i'm very optimistic for the future. Look and laugh at the fucking hobo's, the 'best' footballing team in the country are still flapping about trying to get out the the seaside retirement division at their 3rd attempt, truly pitiful, all that swagger clearly isn't working for them.
  3. Apologies to the P&B police, It was intended for the previous poster who is clearly hasn't seen it before.
  4. Quote from Gauld a couple of months back....."It’s nearing the end of my second year in the B team. To be perfectly honest, it’s not what I hoped for. It has slowed down in the last few months and that’s why I was hoping to go out on loan and play first-team games as that would accelerate my development again. "Sporting said: “No†when I asked about the possibility of a loan move. There was a bit of interest but Sporting said they wanted to keep me and that’s how it went." He clearly has a different view tony.
  5. It would have been great if that's the way his career had gone as we all hoped, and agree a third season without much game time isn't best for the kid. He's only 20, at a club with an excellent pedigree but if he has to move and continue his development elsewhere, so be it. Whatever happens next for him, i'm sure he's learned a great deal in Portugal, i just really hope that a guy with genuine ability like Gauld can progress and fulfill his potential.
  6. He's still quoted as being in the B team on the official sporting site site so i guess that's as good a source as any. He clearly wants (and needs) games but thats a good sign. being on the books of a club like sporting is beneficial in many respects, however, festering in the second team isn't helping him progress. Going by those quotes he seems keen to be playing again, not resting on his laurels like many nowadays do.
  7. I'd also prefer he played first team football in Lisbon, but he's still in the second team so that looks unlikely at present. The lad has genuine talent, it would be a shame if his career stalled. A loan move would be good for everyone, scotland included.
  8. Surly its better him playing first team football though to gain experience? Potential is all good and well but you only improve by playing competitive football.
  9. Definitely Amos I'm thinking of chum, mahoosive sideburns. Tried to post pic to back up post but I'm making a c*unt of it on the phone.
  10. Danny Amos , his grandad was a right miserable old duffer in emmerdale, has to be related with similarly ridiculous face fuzz.
  11. i but we canny beet the hubs so neelsons a yousless c**t like
  12. Wallace chose to play in the lower leagues effectively putting any international ambitions to one side and to me , thats the reason he's not been picked but if he's back playing in the spfl and performing well i'm sure strachan will look at him again, despite him being late 20's. Again, I'm not suggesting he gets picked ahead of the other players mentioned as we need to look to the future, but Wallace is a good player, Rangers captain and unfortunately my cynical view is that you've a much better chance of playing for scotland if you represent one of the ugly sisters.
  13. Are you saying strachan won't call him up? I'm not advocating he's picked ahead of anyone chump..I just think he'll be involved. Its hardly an outlandish suggestion is it considering who he plays for???
  14. Remember Lee Wallace will be called up next season when sevco return to the top flight. We've got some decent options on the left, only wish we were as strong right across the back 4.
  15. Really hope we've something lined up with Sow leaving, big shoes to fill up top. Anyone know if El Hassnaoi is anywhere close to first team return?
  16. Disappointed to see king go (if it happens) but chances in the first team will be slim as other have said, slight fear for his long term future if Robbie doesn't feel he's required at the moment when we're pushing for Europe and a scottish cup.
  17. Any thoughts on McGhee being given a chance at centre half soon? Augustin is clearly not up to match fitness yet and with rossi filling in for oshinawa at left back, should McGhee feel a bit aggrieved at not getting an opportunity? We've not started the season well defensively, clearly its a new back 4 but its a defense that's costing us goals and games at the moment.
  18. McGrandles hasn't played in the top flight, but he has started a great deal more first team games and consistently proved himself at a good level. McGhee needs to play regularly and establish himself, something i truly hope will happen at hearts. Some fans are quoted on this very thread proclaiming we shouldn't take less than a million, these posts were the reason i chipped in initially. We're going round in circles here, I've tried to make my point but and its clear i'm probably in the minority but thats fair enough. Onwards and upwards, looking forward to the possibility of 5 in a row tomorrow, getting a rare opportunity to have pre-match micks for a change also. McGhee for first goal anyone?
  19. Signing experienced players makes sense, mcGhee has done well when called upon and has undeniable potential, none of this i am disagreeing with at all. I'd like to see him getting a starting berth on merit and hopefully progress an do very well for us in the future and if we do indeed sell him, we get a true value that reflects his ability, i've nothing against the lad, all my posts are consistant. He's just not worth £1m considering his current status at the club, he must be playing regular football over a period of time. Is this really such an outlandish statement? McGrandles had started 50+ games, a key player in a very decent falkirk team and proved this over 2 seasons. McGhee has not done the equivalent at hearts. If you think he's worth £1m then bully for you, i just disagree with the valuation from certain posters on here. Nothing more nothing less.
  20. I'd like to think Neilson and levein want to keep him, i dont want him being sold either but he needs games and with the 2 new lads signing in the summer his chances will be limited. Would like to see him go on loan and come back really pushing for a start.. Competitive football is what he needs, warming the bench is hindering his progress for me at the moment.
  21. My point is quite clear on McGhee. Muppets like you reckon we should be looking for a million pounds for a guy who canny get a game in the bang average spl. Total delusion.
  22. For whats it worth, once Wilson left, i was hoping McGhee was given his chance this season alongside ozturk. I rate the guy myself and when he's played he's more than held his own despite his age. His starting appearances for us have been as a deputy, breaking into the first team and keeping others out is something he has not yet achieved, not a criticism but a fact. Neilson signed 2 foreign centre backs this summer, both are further up the pecking order than mcGhee at present. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest a 7 figure fee for him i'm afraid. Its only my opinion.
  23. I'm not criticising the lad and haven't read anyone being down on him at all. My original point was the valuation that some hearts fans have is unrealistic considering his lack of football he's played regularly. Nothing personally against him in the least.
