Nothing to do with Mids and Lochar as they are not licensed and haven't taken the coin from the sfa like your shower at least dick Turpin wore a mask oh and I think the players at Annan have been chased
Krissian scored for Annan at the end of last month... Maybe he is not getting his contract renewed but that happens to many players!0 -
Dont see the issue, they have won the league and gained promotion.
To be fair I think its more of a bad reflection on every other club that is now below them than anything else.
I wouldn't say it reflects badly on anyone tbf... These boys are, for the most part, good players! Three of last years group are playing at Annan (Raffi Krissian, Jean Guy Lucas & Tony Riberio) and one is at Glacis United in the Gibraltar Premier Division (Yves Nyami)... Albeit this is a small number but, a few have come back for a second year and a few will have gone to other clubs so I'd say they will be working to a success!0 -
Hey prodigy at least they are accepting their promotion with their license which is more than you or any other licensed club in sosfl seem to be willing to do so please no more pish from you
It's entertaining to listen to your conspiracy theories when you don't watch Wigtown and you don't know any of the players...
Edu won the title fair and square, but if you watch each of the 3 games that determined the title (Wigtown vs Nithsdale, Edu vs Wigtown, Mids vs Wigtown), refereeing helped shape two games while all 3 sides game planned, successfully, and cause problems!
When you know the boys as well as I do, and have watched all their games this season, you would have noticed that in some of the games (the draws against Saints and Threave for example), Wigtown have got lucky with what has gone on and as a result have gained points they shouldn't have got... Sometimes teams lose!
Surprised your not suggesting that Mids and Lochar, who were in the top three for most of the first half of the season and led the league until mid-September, threw the league... Or is that still yet to come? Also surprised you haven't suggested that Saints threw the game against Edu a few weeks ago...0 -
Don't start with the xenophobic patter, that's not my angle! My issue is with the blocking of Scottish youth players. Can you tell me what Edusport bring to the Scottish game?
To be clear, I don't lay the blame at Edusport's door, I blame the SFA for giving them a license in the first place.
So they have given a handful of Scottish lads a chance to play this season... That's giving Scottish youths a chance to play! However, you'll be the same sort of person who will be calling for Celtic/Rangers/whichever SPFL club you support to sign the top talent they can afford, regardless of nationality! It's really poor that your big problem is that players from one country (France) are getting a chance to showcase their skills and improve in a different country (Scotland)...
And you say that you feel it is the SFA's fault for giving them a license... Well first of all, they don't need a license to compete in the Juniors, Amateurs or in either of the league's at Tier 6, so the SFA can't actually be at fault for this! But however, you could land the blame with the EU as they allow free movement of people which enables these French lads to move here and play!
And finally, to answer your question on what they provide to Scottish football... They are a competitive team which, as a result of playing against them, means other teams, players and coaches improve as they have to attempt to beat them... They also add to the diversity of Scottish football! As they add players from a different country... They also get to play the sport they love whilst studying English! So in effect, this team is the same as that of Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities who all have their license and are student based teams! These teams also see constant overhaul of players and will have foreigners playing, so they should also not be allowed to play too, surely?
Hope this makes you see some reason!0 -
Honestly don't see how their nationality has anything to do with this... unless your an xenophobe of course

Surely a team of French guys paying £16k per head can't have a place in Scottish football? Before anyone starts with "it's open to Scottish boys" Can you seriously imagine any Scottish youth player paying this?
Tbf, I think that anyone can have a place in Scottish football if they want it... And these French lads are willing to pay £16k a year to come across then they clearly want a chance, so I'd say they are welcome to their chance!
I'm yet to see a proper reason why they shouldn't be allowed to play so I think it is clear that they should be allowed to...
No disrespect to the SoSFL but they have improved the overall standard of the league in the 3 years they were down here so all the best to Ricky, Ryan and all of next years crop!0 -

Quoting £16k fees for next season - ouch! I notice they host a "training camp" in July for prospective joiners, which I suspect doubles up as trials for the main squad.
As someone who knew very little about them, I'm intrigued now I've read up. Hopefully will be a decent side to watch in terms of quality.
Ricky and Ryan have the boys playing very well! Obviously, at the start of the season the players are not all that great and they aren't in the system properly but when you get towards the end of the season, they play some great football and they are very impressive at times too!0 -
Any further movement on this? I would imagine Kelty and Bo'ness would need to announce something soon to enable both leagues to sort themselves out for next season
They wouldn't need to publicly announce anything... So for all we know, they could have already got everything sorted or may be in the process of sorting it all out!0 -
Some years ago the SOSL introduced an aggregate championship including both league and cup results called the 'Detroit Trophy'. It was basically a league, combining league and cup matches.
This was understandable given the number of cup competitions. I think there are now 8 domestic* cups; plus the Scottish Cup and South & East of Scotland Cup-Winners' Shield for some teams.
*South Challenge Cup; Southern Counties Cup; SOS League Cup; Cree Lodge Cup; Haig Gordon Cup; Potts Cup; Tweedie Cup; Southern Alternate Alba Cup
You used to get standings in the Scottish Non-League Review, but not recently IIRC.
Is the competition still awarded? Does anyone have this season's standings or a list of previous winners?
Yes it is still awarded... Usually it is handed out, alongside the James Brown Fair Play Trophy at the AGM as a result of the season not being finished when the Southern Counties End of Season Awards night takes place (this years event is May 19th, I believe)...
I don't know about standings or if anyone actually has an accurate and official set but I'd imagine that it'll be very close between Wigtown and Saints at the top of it, with Edu in third...
As for a list of previous winners it can be found at: http://www.southofscotlandfootballleague.co.uk/LeagueDocuments/download/298080 -
I just found out that we released Josh Webb, Jamie Cobain, Nathan Tyson, Callum McFadzean and Dapo Kayode...three weeks ago.
Wee bit disappointed about McFadzean going but the rest should have left ages ago! Must admit, I felt McFadzean had a bit of potential before his injury0 -
But not that many will move, remember that only Linlithgow are currently licenced in the East Juniors and in a position to be promoted to the LL, however I doubt they are going to set the precedent by moving first.
If Kelty and Bo'ness move, one of them will have at least two seasons in the EoS which is a big risk.
It's not a big risk... Financially, these clubs will be better off as they will be gaining from Scottish Cup and SFA License revenue they wouldn't have got in the Juniors... Also, as more teams move, there will be more ex-Junior sides in the EoS meaning that old rivalries can be re-commenced0 -
Floodlights are only requirement for SPFL as far as I'm aware.
HJ may correct me as there are different standards of lighting.
Really want them at Ferguson Park but with owning the ground it's not as easy as council facilities to get funding ?
Yeah your right... SPFL have it as a requirement however, the LL would like you to (not a must though)!
And I believe there are different standards but that's just in the SPFL0 -
With all the work about to start at Saughton, could we potentially be in a situation that Hutchie could be licensed and end up in a potential end of season play-off with Wigtown & Bladnoch?
Infact if Hutchie do win the league (which is certainly no given), could they go up automatically if the Lowland sticks to its mandatory floodlight policy which was due to begin next season as W&B do not have them. (much like a few actual Lowland sides!).
I'm led to believe W&B would be accepted into the LL but would have to start work on making floodlights a part of the ground!0 -
Charlee Adams has left too while, Luke Hendrie's loan has been extended until the end of the reason

Thank you for O'Hara.
Good man... Thank you from all Killie fans

LC likes to play 442 so I'd guess that would be our formation.
I'd hazard a guess that our line up will be:
---------------MacDonald----------------
--Cobain--Addison--Boyle--Smith--
Magennis-Dicker-Smith-McFadzean
---------------------Kiltie-------------------
--------------------Coulibaly-------------
Kiltie on the Wing with Magennis up top with Coulibaly and I'd say your spot on0 -
Rumours abound that thirteen players are being released or let go. With Findlay and Hodson on loan, I make that six so far?
Splaine was released last weekend!!

What would Hurlford get out of a tie in with Killie?
Potentially a decent bit of cash!!

How long until the St Mirren fans show up and predict our appending doom?
Maybe a day or two... Maybe never since they aren't in this league anymore??

can't find a way to post them but we made a loss of 700k for the financial year
Thanks for trying... Sounds shambolic
We've went through them in detail on this weeks podcast.
https://soundcloud.com/oneteaminayrshire/boyd-bae-board-boo
Bullet points are:
- Owed Billy Bowie and Park Hotel circa 1mill as of May 2015 after new hospitality deals etc
- 2.5million owed to creditors; club made 700k loss
- 1million needed unless footballing performances improved (which they didn't) from external sources or "failure to secure additional funding would result in the existence of a material uncertainty , which may cast doubt as to the company's ability to continue as a going concern." (taken verbatum from the Auditors' report)
- Mann's letter said basically fans were to blame and he doesn't know why attendances/hospitality is down
- Owed MJ's law firm 107k for legal fees; up from 61k from the previous years accounts
- AGM to be held at 2pm on a Tuesday when most shareholders will be at work. To mask some bad news?
- We either announce external investment or we go into administration - seems the only two likely options
Shit... f**k... Not good!! Didn't realize the new podcast was out!! Nice title...

Anyone had a look at the accounts yet? Pretty grim reading with a statement from 'the chairman' which has got MJ written all over it.
The letter to shareholders is laugh a minute stuff. Not understanding why attendances and hospitality takeup is down..
Disappointing Chairman's statement from Jim Mann. Shows a lack of self-awareness of the issues surrounding the club's culture of treatment towards its core support. Troubling financial figures as well.
Does anyone have a copy of the accounts and shareholders letter I could have a look at?? Haven't seen them but would be interested to read them especially considering the way your all talking about this!!

Really can't see Killie being in the Premiership next season. They've rode their luck in recent seasons but looks like their time will be up imminently
I think you are wrong tbf... Stay up this season!! This coming pre season will determine how long we are going to remain there for

I wonder if hibs have peaked too early to make the playoff the forgone conclusion that everyone seems to expect, but nevertheless I'd rather not be the team who find themselves testing that particular theory. So yeah, tenth is a minimum aim.
I agree with you. I think we're a mid table squad that's been mismanaged into a relegation battle, but I still think we're good enough to get out of it. Defending has been an issue for a few seasons, but there's been green shoots of late and Hodson looks a good addition. I think the main thing we're looking for is a bit of confidence, and he certainly seems like the kind of character that can instill that in the short term.
"Who knows" is the short answer. Relegation would be a bit of a disaster, because as we all know - if Kilmarnock go down we won't be back up until the earth is sucked into the sun.
You think we have a chance one the earth is sucked into the sun?? Surely it'll be even longer than that...

Target safety but aim for 4th surely... It's within reach... (only 6 points of a gap if I remember correct)Should he be targeting 10th do you think?

Yeah I completely get you! A full functional pyramid should work that way... I, for one, hold no sour grapes against Edu and wish them well! I have nothing against the team, coaches or players... They've done their job tbf! But yeah I do feel that some teams voted them into the league and have decided they don't like them as they are better than expected... But you'll always get those people no matter what level you are at!
