  1. I was under the impression that a player can contact the SFA directly to get released … albeit it takes a bit of time.

I was also under the impression that a player that is registered with a WOSFL or junior club has til the 31st of March to sign amateur and vice versa.

I’m sure the rules changed to a “deadline” as teams were getting amateur players in to help them near the end of the season.

Someone like @glensmad will probably be able to correct me on all of that

Whoever finishes in 14th place in the WoSFL Premier Division will be hoping that the champions have their licence and win the play-off. With it looking extremely unlikely that any team will be relegated into the WoSFL from the LL this summer, if the WoSFL champions win the play-off then only 6 teams would be relegated from the Premier Division to the new First Division. So the 14th placed team's league status for 2022-23 would be decided by the WoSFL champions' licence status and performance in the play-offs if they are eligible to compete in them.

Very interesting I wasn’t aware of that. So “hypathetically” if Talbot win the league and win the play off, therefore going up then the team in 14th isn’t relegated? And they wouldn’t know that until the east south west play off is complete? Final question does what is the format for the play off between west south and east?

Sorry, just to be clear I was be generic. There was never a winter shutdown in the juniors but there was a we don’t play on public holidays. So when you could (weather permitting!) play games you weren’t actively encouraged or outright blocked from doing so. Example we wanted to play on a midweek afternoon on a public holiday between Christmas and new year to play catch up but were told no. I am hoping that won’t be the case in the WOSFL.

I 100% agree, Christmas and New Year both on Saturdays this year, there should be something on.

2 more still in talks with, I’ll post the details of the league later today

Are these new clubs that will play a level below the conferences or are these u20s teams?

    Another statement saying nothing.

Maybe after tonight's SGM the West will man up, call it null and void and get plans in place  for a safe and timely start to 2021-22.

No surprise that is your opinion, I say no surprise as looking at all your posts it’s just negativity about the season getting started or games getting played.

    Bit sad really.

Wow what a dreadful update that is! If you can even call it that.

Numbers lower now from when the leagues started and vaccines rates obviously higher.

There are people desperate for the season to be cancelled but personally I hope they, in my opinion, see sense and get it finished off in some format.

In pre season we saw amateur teams beating some teams at this level.

amateur teams are being unfairly punished in this.

I don’t see how teams in level 4 can travel to others areas and vice versa and this is classed as being ok. Players at this level do not get tested

the season should have been scrapped long long ago and it has been poorly managed imo.

“We saw amateur teams beating some teams at this level”

Deary me..... what an opening statement to your argument that was....

Suggestion: Let’s have a big round robin league throughout Scotland from Celtic/Rangers down to the pub leagues and the more games you win the more games you get to play, basically winner stays on?!

  9. ....... And here come the voices of the people that didn’t want the season to go ahead and now rather than disappear and take their negativity to some other forum or some where else they are determine to moan about it going ahead!

I genuinely believe some people would get satisfaction with the season getting cancelled even though they are not involved either way!

I believe that the season will finish around June, would there be a rejig in the Conference's to allow for any promotions and relegations in 20/21 ? Maybe next season will have to be slightly different in set up etc just to get organised. Is the 12 pts being carried over to 21/22 ?

I also believe it wouldnt be fair for the conferences to be seeded again next season based on this seasons league position. And where do the teams that have pulled out rank?

I don't see enough Premier Division teams withdrawing that it will be scrapped this year. The results against that withdraw will just get voided and those remaining will carry on.

The problem is at the Conference level.

The conferences are now a mess.

Would the best way forward would be to split them up and make just 2 leagues, the teams that have already played each other would be in the same league with the result carried over so not to disadvantage teams that have played games and then a similar 'seeded' approach used to make both conferences as level as possible?

Or, is the reduced numbers actually beneficial as it accounts for any mini lock downs or bad weather which is guaranteed to happen at some stage.
