  1. I think there's a few on here thinking the same, extra 35k for the budget, hopefully a win against Airdrie will also help the coffers.
  2. The only thing is that the team have only had 3 games together so will take time to gel, hopefully another win Tuesday will help build some momentum going into the Hamilton game, where I think we can take something but as long as we don't get beat it'll be a good result.
  3. What's your point at the start? To exactly do same at end [emoji848] I'm not bothered about what foot the winger uses but, I just want a winger out there who can put in a decent ball or take on a man which I don't think either Tapping or Rankin will do, and Young Connor has done in previous games.
  4. What worried me was the use of rankin on the left and then tapping on the right? I know we don't see training or anything but for me, surely start Connor Murray and give us some width. Tbh I don't mind Lyndon but I'd rather start Lyle than bring him on. Seemed to do better once both came on
  5. That question going to get asked every time he's subbed [emoji23] Good win in the end up, first half didn't sound like we were too hot, second half going by what I've been told and going by stats we improved. Hopefully show Naysmith what we're still needing player wise, and maybe a bit on what we need to work on although doesn't seem like they had us under too much pressure. Onto Tuesday, one I won't miss
  6. Martin Rooney Brownlie fordyce marshall Rankin Jacobs Stirling tapping dykes Dobbie Subs Leighfield Bell Akubeine Murray Lyle
  7. Yeah I was at that, but that was a while ago now, i hoped we'd have had at least one addition by now. Like you say rest was done pretty sharp but over a month since anything, it's probably due to lack of rumours and games so far it seems worse. Would've liked us to add Sam Stanton but looking as though he's Tannadice bound. Will there be updates from the game today on twitter?
  8. Might allow us to add to wages that can be given at the moment which make wages a bit more attractive?
  9. Although I was someone who wanted to freshen up back line, I tend to agree with this now. I'd of kept Higgins out the two. Probably would've kept hilson also Surely we've still money left in the pot given the players that left in summer. Or are we waiting to see if we get through this cup competition? Giving the 35k bonus at least
  10. He's a fat postie with two knackered knees [emoji23]
  11. Nick Torriani works in his family restaurant Bruno's. Went to school with him, was a decent player when younger but done next to nothing unfortunately. Adamson played and scored a few for Annan back in the day
  12. Didn't know about Kilmarnock or rangers recently but knew connor Murray wasn't local, although does he not have relatives down this way? So it is something we benefit from as well as lose out.
  13. Ideally you'd want a couple of players every year. You could basically count Connor Murray as a success, then you'd be hoping Owen bell or Jesse Akubeine (who's been pretty impressive during pre season) kick on. Not sure if Ross fergusson has actually signed or not yet? But then next year your hoping for another couple from this new crop to come in. Tbh I think Naysmith is giving them a better chance with the training being similar, and sending them out on loan, it's making them mature faster and was always something I thought queens should've been doing before. I'm hoping it happens again this year and boys at least get lowland league football out of it. Can moan about teams taking our local youth but not much can be done as SD said. But there has bound to be times we have benefited from it, it's something we should be looking at, local boys leaving bigger clubs.
  14. Hanley was barely at queens. Sure he left just into secondary school and went to Crewe. Hyslop was there throughout, but doesn't play anymore due to injuries
  15. Where's it been said we were in for him, to miss out on?
  16. Seeing McFadden and dobbie in the same side would have seemed sort of dream for us 5/6 years ago... unless we can strike some sort of deal, I don't think it's one we should be doing. I've no doubt he'd be brilliant around the club, and would have moments of brilliance, but it's how often we'd see them.
  17. Danny Handling and Sam Stanton both been made available by hibs, thinks it's been the case most the summer but a piece on the sun website with Lennon saying it. Would take both, especially Stanton
  18. Hasn't been anything of note for over a month. If he signs McFadden it kind of goes against everything he said at the slo meeting, where he wanted young boys out to prove themselves, pace and hunger to play a high intensity game. Although , personally feel we need experience at the back, but don't know where that player will come from.
  19. Going by the daily record website, it seems we tried to get him back also. Not going to compete with any of the teams interested though unfortunately
  20. Signing a 3 year deal... so don't think they've loaned him to a rival?
  21. I'd take Joe Thomson before him everyday of the week
  22. Like mentioned after seeing fleetwood goal, both seemed to be Stirlings man, if he was goal side of his man I doubt either would happen. Hopefully won't be a running trait over the season as you say
  23. Jury isn't out really, he was a good signing for us who had a significant impact for 5/6 games maybe faded a wee bit but was still assisting goals. I'd take him back in a heartbeat, if he goes to killie I think as long as they use him right they'll have a player on there hands. Naysmith outrightly said if he had chance again he'd use him differently and maybe not have played him as much, but in the form he was in, it was hard to leave him out, blames that for dip in form.
  24. Don't think people appreciate Rankin, yes he can be wasteful in possession as can Kyle Jacob's but he's the one who gets a slagging. John Rankin manages the game on the park, pushes players further up the park, presses every ball in the middle of the park and tries to set a tempo. He's got faults but he's got more good points than bad. Example of that would be Dunfermline away the midweek fixture, we really couldn't get going, it took him to press a ball from a centre half and go right through him, to get us going. Folk will find fault in what he done, but it took that to get us started. Personally speaking i'd go rankin/jacobs beside Tapping/thomson (hopeful I know).
