Few hurdles to get over yet printer keep with us for a wee while yet good lad . stay safe and stay at home u don't want a police fine
I would suggest that with April being a year away thats a fairly large hurdle.Any ideas for what to do in the meantime.

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread (or elsewhere), but I had a moment earlier when I wondered what might (inevitably) happen once things are back up and running. Let's say it is October, we are six games into the 'new' season, whatever that might look like. A team shows signs of symptoms and then have to isolate. Then another shows the same. Then another. What I am saying is that it is more than likely the football next season will again be affected by the second or third wave of this and we may have similar scheduling and legal problems as a result.
That's my lockdown thought for the day.
If this happens legal issues will be the least of our problems. There is no way the government will be able to come up with the same finance packages and we will be in a recession so i suspect a number of our clubs would not survive.

Exactly, Nobody can, so why award it?
Because one way or another this season has to end. I have no idea of the best way to conclude it as none seem sportingly fair but you just want United to miss out for a laugh.

Has anyone definitely gained promotion?
Nobody can,the game has been shut down by a global pandemic. There is no way the leagues can be finished in a fair and sporting manner through no fault of any club or governing body. Its fans using mathematic probablility to hopefully screw up a rival that makes you laugh

Because it's fairer than giving teams undeserved promotion or relegation.
So its fairer to stick them where they are despite them wiping the floor in their respective leagues,ok then.

We need four divisions of 14 from next season the whole setup needs revamped
Run the season April to NovYes because part time footballers telling their wives and families that Summer holidays are a thing of the past wont cause any problems.

Its abundantly clear that this season can,t be finished on the park without crazy permutations running it into next season. The medical advice on the length of the lockdown along with the likes of the German sides returning to training suggest that next season has a chance of starting at a near normal time frame. That in my opinion is why they want this season called as it offers the quickest route back to normality. The 10th of June date further reinforces this.Clubs are clearly going to vote in their own best interests, that should surprise nobody.

Everything is possible - players can have their contracts extended until the end of the season with no transfers allowed until the season is complete.
The £8 million sponsorship money the SPFL can be distributed now - if the SPFL start talks to release the funding now, rather than the end of the season.
Proper planning was a reference to the SPFL to help the smaller clubs, provide them with the funding now and stop trying to bully them into rushing a decision.
The suggestion that the SPFL can't release the £8 million funds now is nonsense - does anyone really believe the sponsors would stand in the way of this ?
How do you extend the contracts of players who dont want to stay at their clubs beyond their current contracts.

There is a difference between playing with the guys he trains with every day in the system he works on constantly to playing with the national team.
If we had no one else then stick him in but McGregor is experienced and on form and Fleck has put in better performances at EPL level than either of Gilmour's two games.
Every player faces the different system and players when playing for their national side though. We haven,t qualified for a major tournament in a generation while constantly banging on about experience.England, while having 10 times the players to choose from, pick teenagers for fun and qualify virtually every time. How much time has to pass before we admit we are doing it wrong.

The pyramid is the best thing to happen in Scottish football for years. The bottom half of league 2 was a total non event for years with a couple of clubs able to retain senior league status simply by putting eleven bodies on the park.I feel for the Brechin fans who have had a horrible 3 years and i can,t see them saving themselves. Its been well reported that a number of Brechin players are overweight and that is unacceptable in the pro game.Add in McManus being in his late thirties and Hill in his mid thirties there must be next to no pace or energy in the team. How some of these managers get there jobs if they think this is an acceptable squad is beyond me.

I think every part time league side has to wake up and smell the coffee if they want to retain their league status. The lowland league is getting stronger every year and would you really fancy a playoff against a Kelty or Bonnyrigg if you have spent a season constantly losing games. In the last decade Stirling,Cowden and Brechin have all been in the championship and conversely Alloa and Arbroath have been in league 2.Its clearly easier than you would think for it all to go wrong fairly quickly and history and community alone can,t save you.Apologies to highland league as i know nothing about the standard but every highland side to come into the leagues is still there, write them off at your peril.Berwick and the Shire have fell out the league with no signs that they can get back. For me Brechin should be using their last ten games to prepare for a playoff which still favours them as whatever they are doing just now aint working.

I for one have been watching and supporting Ayr for 60 years, if a plastic pitch comes in I’ll not be back, that’s why I wasn’t there today and won’t be at Dumfries in a couple of weeks absolute torture watching games on it, only good for training on to keep up fitness.
Another dinosaur who would rather watch players scrambling about on a tattie field than play on a bowling green surface.Mark Kerr loved it and i will bet so did all the Ayr players as it lets you get it down and play. Most grass pitches in Scotland at this time of year are in crap condition and our clubs dont have the money to keep them good. Our pitch is in its 4th year and there have been no injuries to players caused by the pitch, another myth from years ago.

Any update on the Andy Graham injury and is John Robertson currently out injured?
Robbo had two steroid injections in his foot due to plantar fasciitis.Trained on Tuesday and had no pain following day.If ok at training tonight should be ok to return to the squad for the weekend.Think Andy has a more serious injury which is crap for the big man.

I think we have everything in place to try and stay in this division for sustained periods of time going forward. Similar to what Alloa have done, hopefully we could do even better.
Premiership talk is mad.Think you are spot on.Looking at you,re player stats from another poster there are striking similarities in both squads.A core of players with lots of appearances in mainly successful times with the clubs can only be a good thing.Getting the loan players right is the trick as they give you young full time footballers to help the already good players at the club.

Thompson was really good again tonight.
Agree with you Waspie. He gives us the opportunity to go a bit more direct at times which we didn,t have previously

A point against the runaway league leaders can never be a bad one.Never in any real danger until the last 10 to 15 mins where i think taking Thompson off actually hurt us.He holds the ball up better than O,Hara who looks to get in behind with his pace.We couldn,t hold it up the park late on and it let United keep us under pressure.

I had a wee chat with Streve Hislop (Boness assistant) before their Jags match. I was amazed at how much dough was on offer - and assume its more for this round.
You guys have done fantastically well to get to this stage, and while we should win comfortably, that Alloa pitch is so shite and the weather to be so horrible you just never know.....................
The pitch at Alloa is a bowling green. Its also back to its full size and I fully expect Hibs to cruise through because of the pitch.A bumpy rutted grass pitch would have been more of a leveller for BSC.Cant do anything about the weather.

Great signing for yous, no disrespect but he could do a lot better than Alloa.. all the best to him and hope you lot can keep thistle in the relegation spot.
He has done a lot better than Alloa chum.Unless of course Crystal Palace are not better than Alloa.

True, but you’re part time and don’t have the same resources.
I’d rather we had spaces on the bench than were spunking however much up the wall on the likes of Harkins and Jones, who can’t/don’t contribute anything.
In fairness,we are a really well resourced part time club.I agree with you,re point on having bodies getting wages but not contributing anything. That said the only senior player missing last night was Stevie Hetherington so it only gives us a squad of thirteen senior players.Over a season that will never be enough to survive in this league.

Didn,t make the game last night due to work.First time I have ever heard of us struggling fitness wise.Hardly surprising when there are only 12 senior pros available after a tough game and trip to Elgin followed by an energy sapping game midweek against a full time team. The manager stated that his remit was to develop the young players and i totally support this but so far they have remained on the bench. He will know far better than me if they are ready or not and their lack of game time suggests they are not.Waspie is spot on about the need for additions but i reckon we need four.Anyway another point gained by the boys who give everything every game.

Except that while we were in possession Queens weren"t.Our ability to keep the ball is the main reason most of the full time teams don,t get to keep us under constant pressure. It amazes me how many fans dont get this.

I'd be interested to hear if Buchanan coming on at h/t helped us. Was very surprised indeed that he was on the bench. He led the line very well last week, brought others into play and scored an excellent goal. Flannigan had to come back into the team today but I really don't think Buchs should have dropped out.
Great spirit from the team again to come back
For me Buchanans introduction made a huge difference. His movement and hold up play also helped O,Hara who was more of a handful second half.Delighted with a point after being two down and once again this group of players just don,t give up.We have had the Indian sign on Queens lately and there is no rhyme or reason for that as I think Queens are better than many in the league. At the end of the day we have beat Dundee Utd,drew away at Caley and at home to Queens in our last three games and sit ninth in the table.Thats how hard it is.

Brilliant highlights package as usual Leo and reinforced what i remember from Saturday. We kept the ball really well and with a little more care with our final ball could easily have scored more.Thistle 2nd half had chances too and big Neil saved us on a couple of occasions. No game in this league is easy but if we continue playing this way we will win games. My MOM was Peter Grant, widened the pitch and sent us out to play our way rather than worry about our opponents.Totally positive in his outlook has got me on board right away.

Nailed it sir and the single reason Scottish football is crap. Its not a competition its a procession and nobody outside of Glasgow treats it seriously anymore. How the boards of all the other clubs allowed this to happen mystifies me.They would leave us behind in a heartbeat if any other league would have them.
