  1. Hi guys, Chris 'The Mini Messi' Johnston played as a trialist for us on Saturday, and we're set to announce a signing today, which could well be him. Just a quick thing I was wondering, can he play in the #10 role (eg the centre of a 3 in a 4-2-3-1)? That's where we played Sam Stanton last season, and he was probably our most impressive outfield player, but we've yet to properly replace him, and I wondered if Johnston could do a similar job.

Really good player and really nice guy. I went to school with him and was always completely focused on football. I didn't want him to leave us tbh. I wouldn't play him in the middle though. On the wing and let him use his pace. Will def do a job for you though
  2. Feel for you guys here. I really like Edinburgh City and you deserve to be in our leagues. Loyal fans, good players still getting a chance but this is disgusting. If you are convicted of an assault when on a night out if you get in a fight or you have been convicted of a driving offence it really does affect your future employment opportunities and rightly so. The fact that this man has committed a crime that is lower than low but still gets to do what he loves is a disgrace. I'm sure every single person on here would play for their club for free if they could. Just for the chance to play for the team you love but a convicted peadophile gets to play and earn a wage. I'm sure if the club looked at all the players across the country who are being released and have no idea where their life will take them they'd find a few gems in there that are of a much higher calibre than him!

Anyway rant over. Not my club but feel your pain. I hope the board change their mind and you have a great season

  3. I'll use my first post here and say is it just me that thinks this is a rip-off? £12 for a ticket, £2 for a pie, £3 for a pint and £2.50 return on the train is £19.50...

I disagree tbh. A ticket, pint, pie and travel to and from the game. Be with supports from start to finish. Sounds good to me. I got a normal ticket on the Monday they went on sale but if I didn't have a season ticket and couldn't get one for this game I think it's quite good. Good atmosphere as well and some cash for the club.

  4. He was referring to preseason fitness levels, it took till November last year before the fans started to see an improvement, as Lee Clark was in charge, he made his feelings know but Clark persisted in his methods.
The first thing LC did when appointed interim manager was get rid of the cyro chamber, changed training times back, and altered the training methods & diets.

I'm glad he is taking it more seriously. The Berwick game last year we looked like a pub team in first half. Can't be like that when we go to Ayr
  5. I'm sure the team begin their pre-season training a week tomorrow. As for signings, we'll probably have something announced about signings soon, especially with pre-season training beginning soon. While for the new kit, it will either be just before the Ayr match or on the open day.

Would really hope we played before Ayr game. Didn't last year and scrapped past Berwick in our first game. Too big a game to not be ready imo
  6. Think season tickets are up 300 or so same time as last year. Think around 2800 are taken so far (that might include reserved seats that haven't been renewed yet tho)
Folk signing up for Trust and Trust in Killie too, Trying to raise 100k to get a fan representative on the board. Finance would definitely help us plus starts the fan ownership process. An extra 100k could get us a couple of decent players for a season.

Bought mine and my boys today. First time in 10 years. Can't wait to go back
  7. I like Lee and felt we were building something. Sad to see him leave but not gutted like I was with Williamson, Mixu or King Kenny. I think McCulloch should get the job. Done well in his few games as interim last year. Only problem is last year he didn't want it on a full time basis. If that's still the case I'm sure Luis Enrique could be available in a couple of weeks [emoji108]????

  8. Out of interest, how does Lee Clark's Killie compare to Gary Locke's side?

IMO I feel that we have more hunger than we did with Locke. We still have confidence issues when we go a goal down but we are starting games on the front foot and really pressing teams and playing football. Under Locke it was horrible to watch and when things weren't going to plan we had no plan b. He also couldn't admit fault which drove me crazy. Sometimes you need your manger just to say we were pish! I feel a lot safer now than I did just over a year ago when he was our boss.
  9. I'd genuinely have no problem getting rid of Hamill, Carrick, Robinson, Westlake, Barbour, Boyd, Ashcroft and Syme were it possible. Added to the loan players (Hodson and Findlay) leaving that would leave us struggling to field a team at all, but I've been sufficiently unimpressed by that lot. I'm not convinced by Obadeyi or Higginbotham either, but saved them from the chop as I was feeling generous. However, were it possible in some mystical fantasy land to bin all that lot and start from scratch in summer then I'd be fairly pleased.

I agree but would definitely get rid of obadeyi. I don't rate him at all and never have. I'd keep Higgenbottom though. Would also get rid of Josh. Feel he has improved but still isn't up to the standard we need. How many times does he shoot straight at the goalkeeper!
