  1. And so the word keeps spreading... B)
  2. Bought some new stuff today. The La's for 3 quid in HMV, heard good things about it on here, and you can't beat that for value. The Byrds - Live at the Fillmore, February 1969. Fuckin magic, only £3.97 in Music Zone. The Most of the Animals. 4 quid in Virgin, pretty good value, will suck it and see, so to speak. The Best of the Mamas and Papas. 3 quid in Virgin. A bvand I don't know much of, so no harm done at 3 quid if I don't like it. Also ordered a couple Big Star cds. B)
  3. Just listened to REM in Hyde Park on Radio 2. Back to Big Star now - quite simply the most magnificent band. A real shame that no-one knows them. Will definitely feature in my choice of songs - just need help deciding which one! Anyone know any Big Star? Swithering between September Gurls and O Dana just now, but that'll have changed by tomorrow morning!
  4. Have to agree with you a bit there, I bought it for a fiver ages ago because it was one of THE classic albums. Was really disappointed with it. It's grown on me a fair bit now, but I still think it's pretty overrated. Still, each to their own, I don't tend to go for music as soft and summery as that.
  5. There Goes The Sun - The Pernice Brothers Where have these guys and The Turn-Ons come from?! Absolutely amazing! Music Police, any ideas?
  6. Ry Cooder - Living in a Poor Man's Shangri-La B)
  7. teenage kicks! in bunker! class! B)
  8. Damn right! I wish they had. That and Won't Get Fooled Again would have been a class set.
  9. Ah, ok. See what he did there then.
  10. It definitely is, it's on his best of. Just not sure how he's the better Velvets, or if BA has another version...
  11. Sunday Morning - Velvets again. Beautiful.
  12. I'm Waiting for the Man - Velvet Underground
  13. I have a fuckin awful version of William Burroughs doing that. Not one of my favourtie REM songs, but the album version did grow on me after a while. The Byrds - You Ain't Going Nowhere
  14. Feel free to continue with songs of that calibre.
  15. Damn right! B) The highlight of the Loch Lomond gig, as I believe I may have mentioned on here. Patti Smith - Kimberley
  16. Cheers, I'll take a look at that after work tomorrow.
  17. You might, but not about SFA, not a band I know well.
  18. I didn't have a problem with his voice, more the fact that that was all there was to the song. I like a bit of music to accompany singing.
  19. I heard my first Bright Eyes song today, a live version of We Are Nowhere and It Is Now. Not convinced. His voice drove the song too much for me, there was only the most basic of guitar chords being strummed in the background. I like a bit of a tune to a song, not just a good voice. I will listen more though.
  20. Weird - I heard about them for the first time today, and I have since seen stuff about them in three different magazines. Big Star - Thirteen [live] B)
