Do bookings count for the play offs?
Straight reds certainly do.
That's why the prospect of Colin Steven at this stage of the season is so frightening.

The fact Colin Steven is refereeing on Saturday is as big a concern re availability of players for the playoffs as injuries.

Aye thats what it was like with us. His general gingerness and overall appearance, combined with his style of play, kind of forces you into thinking hes just a reliable player who lacks something in attack but won't let you down in defence. Then you slowly start to see how little he gives you on the ball and how often he'll lose his man, particularly when defending the back post.
To be fair, if it wasn't for his gingerness, I might not have even rated him as high as a 6/10.

Just noticed we have Colin Steven refereeing our game on Saturday. I thought facing Imrie's gang that injuries might be our biggest concern, but with that clown in charge, I'd be more fearful of players being suspended for the playoffs.

Was looking through these for Saints players and interesting that Brown remains unable to contribute in attack, and is still poor in defence.
Has he been this bad? And do you have people convincing themselves hes good defensively entirely because hes not good offensively and they're deluding themselves?
When he first arrived I had him down as a 6/10 steady Eddie. However, he seems to have regressed somewhat in the last few games.
I thought both Matthews and McGill have looked better in recent weeks, despite neither being natural right backs.

He was shithawking that pish banter about before the Raith game too.
To be fair to him, ICT came out of that game with their second best defensive record intact. They struck the woodwork a few times as well.

The goalframe isn't made of wood.
You'll be telling me next we don't have linesmen anymore.

Our previous games with Inverness this season:
1-1
0-0
1-1
Reckon it'll be tight with few, if any, goals...
The woodwork was hit more times in one of the games than goals scored over the three games. That's quite a stat.

Scored the opener against Arbroath away too.
So in other words, had a wee purple patch until early March. However, not produced much since.

2 games left to get to 20 league wins this season. When was the last season we won 20 league games?
We won 22 league games in the 2017-18 League 1 season when we lost the league on the last day.
When was the last time we won 20 league games in the Championship / old First Division?
Without checking I'd say 92-93, but that was a 44 game season with 2 points for a win.

I'd be keeping an eye on who is out of contract at Arbroath. I reckon a few will end up at East Fife.

I think because of the expectations placed on United and the fact that we gave them a decent race, every slip up and less than convincing performance was probably magnified a bit.
I think Goodwin has definitely earned a crack at next season - he did well at both Alloa and St Mirren and while he was never going to survive the Darvel result and the two thrashings in Edinburgh, he had Aberdeen in a much more stable league position than either his predecessor or successor.

The PFA team just announced. Not drastically different to many of the (sensible) team selections in this thread.
A Michael Beale team if ever I saw one. A tad lacking in width.

Frizzell no even the best midfielder at Airdrie this season ffs.
He probably got a pile of votes from Rovers' players after tearing us a new one a couple of weeks ago.

Probably feeling more relief than joy at present. There is a lot of work to be done for next season.
FFS, bin the relief and actually celebrate winning a title. As much as I'd love to see a repeat of the 14th of May 1983, it's not going to happen, so enjoy the only title you're realistically going to win.
Of course there's a lot of work to be done next season, but there would have been a hell of a lot more to do if you'd stayed down.

This thread is going to make Thistle’s 36-0 win on the final day so much sweeter…
Aye, but we'll probably blow yet another two goal lead against Arbroath.

Congratulations to United.
We've had a better season than we probably imagined last summer, but United found an extra gear when it mattered.

Raith must of have had one of the luckiest seasons of any team I've seen, can't believe you got away with another win tonight. You guys shouldn't be anywhere close to us considering the resources of the teams. Fair play with keeping up however
I didn't think the game was too dissimilar to the last time United were up there.
Inverness threw most of the punches, but failed to land, then were undone by the one genuine moment of quality in the game.

Jim Clark of Raith TV fame telling me that Inverness ended up with eight loanees on the park tonight.
That's not going to end well.

Denied a stonewall penalty for the foul on Rudden.
Absolutely no luck whatsoever.
Decisions like that have gone against us all season.
That's why we've not had more convincing victories.

Stewart reckons it's important tonight for us to hold on to second place.

I think last season it clashed with English league / playoff games.
This year it's on the same weekend as the Scottish and FA Cup Finals, so it might be at a more convenient time on the Sunday.
