  1. He's been poor since Anderson retired, but when he had him alongside coaching him through games he was very effective; there's a chance Arnason could have the same effect on him. I agree though, he has been our most consistently poor CB for at least the last year. Taylor and O'Connor had the odd disastrous moment which cost goals, but Reynolds has consistently been poor positionally, in terms of decision making and with distribution. Considine is the better left sided CB for me.
  2. If Shinnie moves to LB then I wouldn't be surprised if it's Reynolds who becomes a squad player with Considine moving to CB alongside Arnason. Other than Pace, Reynolds is a worse player than Considine IMO (though to be fair, he may rediscover some form when he is next to someone like Arnason rather than Taylor / O'Connor). Sure you will, he loves a 30 yard screamer on Tannadice St.
  3. It's been a while since I posted but this one has prompted me to do so. Cannot believe the way this has panned out. Like everyone else, I was consigned to losing DM and was just hoping we would get someone in who could keep us in the top 6 next season and rebuild a little over the next year or two. Now we've retained our best manager in my lifetime and he reportedly has a substantially improved budget. In the course of a few hours yesterday I went from being dejected about football to being properly excited about what my team will be doing next season. Beyond the obvious benefits for AFC, this can only be a good thing for Scottish Football. As has been mentioned, when was the last time that a manager / player turned down a move to a club that size in England and the massive wage hike that would come with it. Shows that Aberdeen clearly have some real ambition to try and win things and that can only be good for the game.
  4. Overall a decent summation of where we are and what we want to be doing this season. Biggest question marks for me are whether Jack can push on from his performance on Thursday night. I'm not one of the Jack haters and actuall think he has generally been solid and reliable in the midfield. He's jut had a tendency to be a bit too soft and a little dithering in possession. He's also been nothing like a captain. On Thursday he put in a tremendous shift, along with Shinnie, and finally looked like a guy who could grab control of a game and dictate play as well as looking like a proper leader. The other big question for me is whether Taylor and Reynolds can find some kind of form. I'm confident in our goalkeeper (for a change) and we've added good variety to the attack. Just got to hope we can cut out the silly errors in central defence and hopefully sign some kind of bruising ball winner in the middle to stop us getting bullied by the likes of Hearts, Inverness and St Johnstone and we should be in for a decent season again.
