What are the chances we get a few inadequate signings in at the last minute, as AA often likes to do, which leave us short in one or several areas of the pitch?  I hope he's off at an intensive learning course somewhere on how to spot good football players.

You're a dour faced so and so.        We've got a website for talent spotting and probably a YouTube search for "name-surname best bits" to confirm it.   Adam Barton must have looked like Franco Baresi when Archie went snooping.

Partick Thistle Football Club Chairman, David Beattie, said:

“With relegation confirmed following today’s match, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our wonderful supporters who have stuck with us over a difficult season. As a fan myself, I know how much this Club means to you and I don’t underestimate how badly you and everyone associated with Thistle are hurting tonight.

“However, the fightback starts here. It is crucial that the work starts now to ensure that we go in to the 2018/19 season with the sole aim of making an immediate return to where we belong – the top flight of Scottish football. In the next few days, the Board is meeting to plan the strategy and tactics to do that. These discussions will look at every aspect of the Club to ensure that we make the right decisions for the future of Partick Thistle.

“I know that it is hard to even think about that now but together we can make things happen. Together We Are Thistle.”

That would imply the board would have some foresight.

    Oh, they do.   https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/season-ticket-renewal/

    Loving the paragraph:

Graeme Murty was again thrust into an extremely difficult situation and continues to provide the stability and progress that we need at this time. Graeme can be proud of what he has achieved so far...

If you don't manage to get out of the playoff spot it would be poetic revenge if you beat United in the playoff final.

Just gonnae no.        But aye,  even though we pummelled them on their road downwards,  there's still that wee feeling creeping back - it would be justice.

But please naw.   Was just a boy at the time and don't think I could do a rematch now.

That feeling when 1-0 up after Ian Cameron's penalty though...

  5. Like Jackie Husband before him, I'm sure Lambie will live on at Firhill in one way or another.

I first experienced him as a ballboy in 92/93... he put the fear of God into everyone involved at Thistle.

At HT during one game, he came striding down the stairs towards the washing room where all the ballboys congregated and shouted all sorts of expletives to everyone in the room.     I had just joined and never knew what to make of it but was eventually warned to stay out of this guy's way.

I did until the Thistle 1-0 Morton game where he was walking up the steps between the supports and I managed to say hello and get a handshake.

Looked like he'd calmed down by then.
